A female contacted me and identified herself as "Investigator Kathy Moore" and said she was a criminal investigator. She said she was investigating a criminal case about a vehicle she was trying to repossess. She informed me that if I did not cooperate she would subpeona me and I could be looking at jail time. She was asked what firm she worked for and if she was a private investigator. She refused to give any information. Indiana law states a private investigator must provide their place of work and PI# upon request. This person is not who they say they are BEWARE!!!

What's more, private investigators can't issue subpoenas or have anyone arrested for anything.  Scam.

If this crook calls again, tell her that the only person risking arrest is the one who's impersonating a law enforcement officer.

She said she was investigating a criminal case about a vehicle someone had applied for using my name.  She identified herself as an investigator with the "Department of Public Safety".   Something didn't sit quite right, so I did a reverse look up of her phone number.  The lookup took me to several "hits" of her phone number:  1-800-427-7193.  I then called her back; she answered the phone.  I asked her the name of her company, and she asked me my name.  I informed her that she apparently already had the necessary information on me because she has been calling my house repeatedly. I told her that I needed to know who "she" was.   She refused to give any information and became very irrational and irate. She informed me that if I did not give her my name, she would hang up on me.  I then asked for some written documentation about what and who she was investigating, and she hung up on me.  I tried to call her right back to ask about her PI#, and the call went to her voice mail.   BE AWARE!!!  THIS PERSON MAY BE TRYING TO EXECUTE IDENTIFY THEFT!!!  A LEGITIMATE INVESTIGATOR  WOULD NOT GO BALLLISTIC AND HANG UP AND WOULD BE ABLE TO VERIFY HIS/HER INFORMATION.

Same thing here...called my parents, my 90 year old grandmother, and several other family members...never bothered calling MY house or phone, which is a published number.  Told them she was looking for me for grand theft auto and transporting stolen property across state lines (pertaining a car that I had told the finance company to come repo for THREE MONTHS and they never did, so they obviously had my address).  Had my parents worried and upset...what this dumb [***] didn't know was I am in law school and work for an attorney so I knew this was complete crap...repossession is a civil matter, not a criminal unless you intentionally conceal the vehicle or have a writ from a judge to surrender the vehicle.  File a complaint with your state's Attorney General's office by completing the short form on you AG's website.

Yep repo man. Or is it Scott or Nolen from Hill & Associates since Ms Kathy Moore's number is the same one that has called my 78 year old mother several times! They are located in Marietta GA and they don't have a license. When any of them are pinned down on the actual LAW...they get very hostile and break every item in the FDCPA.  

So Mr. Repo man, how's about every one files suit against Hill & Associates, Nolen, Scott and Kathy Moore and then when they have to pay $1000 for every infraction, then they may stop this bull and SHUT THEIR NASTY MOUTHS...Right Nolen and Scott....

She called me as well. She also called the mother of my son and said that she was going to charge me with an A felony. First of all grand theft auto carries up to a C at best. Unless it involves a homicide and or drug offense. Also she said that if our son was in th car that he was going to be in foster care. Even though what she is doing is unethical it is not ilegal to lie. I have not yet got to the point of asking for her info. By law if I ask she must provide. So in short I feel like she should maybe take a different aproach or at best be a little mor polite. Like the old saying you get more with honey then you do with vinegar.

OK.. Katy Moore just called me for my BF. All i know is she gets really upset when you challenge her regarding the legal procedure for filing any criminal charges. If you are looking for someone and u have all there information why are you calling anyone else on their contact list. IDK.. but she got the right one. I had my attorney sitting right here ready to file charges on her because she had no legal reason to run any of my information when i am not the person who owes on the vehicle.

Received a call from this "State Investigator Kathy Moore," same person asking about someone that I don't know, because they used a distant cousin of mine, who happens to have the same last name, on some application.  She left a message for me to call her back at 888-702-7340.  She called a second time and I was home to answer, but I informed her that I had no idea who she was looking for and that I had no info about my distant cousin.  I then asked her what state agency she worked for and she became rude and refused to give any info other than vague references to "State Investigator," "National Search," and "Homeland Security."  She became very upset and hung up, so I called her back.  She refused to talk to me other than to say that if I call her again she would file harassment charges against me.  Absolutely ridiculous that she would threaten to file charges for me calling the number that she left for me to call.  I need to know who to report her to, because she needs to be stopped.

I started getting messages from this same woman 2 days ago, and she used the same phone number (888-702-7340) for me.  Everything that everyone else has said is the very same thing that she's done with me.  I've spoken with both of my attorneys and they've contacted her, so she won't be contacting me anymore, but I know someone like her has no boundaries and will continue to do underhanded [***].  My attorney advised me to contact the FTC and give as much information about her and my experience with her as possible...and to have any/all contacts that she's contacted to do the same.  You can find their info at www.ftc.gov, and the number I called was 877-382-4357.  When I contacted them, they suggested that each person that she's contacted put a fraud alert on their SS# by calling Equifax at 800-525-6285.  Anyone who knows me knows it's not my practice to call people out of their name, but this [***] is outta f*ckin control...PERIOD.  I hope this helps.

Ok on 2/8/12 got a phone call from this woman, claimed she was federal investigator, Kathy Moore, with the Dept of Public Safety, working in conjunction with WV State Police, ok after literally hours of research I busted the itch. Her name is Kathy Moore a PI in Middletown Ohio. She either works for or owns "Secured Investigative Services, LLC", 3481 S Dixie Highway, #307, Middletown, Ohio. The number she gave me to call well threatening me over a relation of mine, is 1-888-702-7340. Her number associated with address is 1-888-210-1389. Ok so I called the phone number and proceeded to go through my repertoire, they gave me the local Morgantown, number, who I called, who gave me the CNAC number 317-249-3100, I called them the woman told me, she doesn't work for us anymore, we used her for contract work, after pressure from me she gave me the Secured name, I looked up address. This same woman gave me this Kathy's badge

Ok i got a car from jd byrider in glendale heights il in march. Since then they have been nothing more than pure o d hell. I was sick three weeks ago where i had to be hospitalized and was unable to make one of my payments due to me not working. I called to send all the paper work of my hospitilization (which they requested) they refused. I had a stroke which didnt allow me to walk or drive. So at this point they were harrasing my mom about this [***] car in which i told them to come get and they still have not. So i am now getting call from this so called PI Kathy Moore who is threatning to call all my refrences and my past employers which is just ridiculous. But when asked to identify herself correctly OF COURSE SHE WAS HOSTILE so at this point jd byrider and kathy so called moore can kiss my ass!

Kathy Moore has called me  my brother and sister in law threating to supena my mom on the where abouts of my ex husband. And my ex husband used me as a refernice for a car he got in ohio. My mother has demetia and can not remember what happend 5 minutes ago and my brother has 4 kids and my mom at his place and can not deal with another stress. I dont feel like they should be calling my family for my ex husband. He and I have not been married for 2 years and I was just a refernce for him. That does not make me or my family responable for his where abouts or his doings. I am sick and tired of her calling me and my family. She can look him up in the phone book. He is listed. She needs to leave my mother and brother out of it.  Because it piss' me off that she is threating somehing she can not do

I'm pretty sure this is the same woman.  I have been getting harassed by a DETECTIVE MOORE.  The number she is calling from though is 404-937-2975.  She is using all the same "terms and BS" she used with everyone else.  I was doing a search for her name and number and found this thread.  I know it is BS.
