They ask to speak to my brother-in-law, different people call every time. Sounds like a collection agency.

I received a call on my caller ID on 5/24/08 from this 800-436-5285 number.      They did not leave a message.  I called the number back on 5/27/08 and got a recording welcoming me to General Revenue Services and telling me that the call might be recorded.  The girl hurriedly told me that I was no longer in their system and just disregard the call.  I said OK, but who are you and why did you call me in the first place.  Again, quite anxiously she said, "you're NOT in our system any longer, so DISREGARD THE CALL!!  And she hung up.

You wanna know what maybe if you people would just grow up and take care of your responsiblities instead of complaining about people calling you, that are actually trying to help you.. you wouldn't have these problems in the first place.. If you would just talk to them, listen to what they have to say, and take the proper actions the calls will stop instead of just hanging up on them, screaming at them.. and what ever else you might do..
We are just doing our jobs, if you couldn't pay it back you shouldn't have taken the damn loan out.. BTW I hear Burger King is hiring for those of you that don't have jobs..

If you were doing your job, then we wouldn't get your mistakes of calling us over, and over, and over....especially when we are NOT NOT NOT the person you think we are.  I am not NICOLE, Hello out there.  Stop calling and do your research to find the correct person! If not, then go back to flipping your hamburgers and learn quality customer service!

Was asking for a person I know; said current phone number and address were no longer valid; said it had something to do with a time dating back to college days; I refused to divulge any information since they refused to say why they were trying to reach this person I know; provided a name (Jess[ica]) and number (800-436-5285) to give to the person I know and ask them to call Jess[ica].

I received multinple calls from this company. This have being going on about a year now. They keep asking for a female that I have no knowledge off. I asked them to reverse the number to see who it belong to and to take my number off their database. The situation has not change, calls continue on a daily bases.

I'm with Nancy 500% "Guess Who".......I take care of my responsibilities by telling the people calling me that I am NOT WHO THEY ARE ASKING FOR.  My number is in the phone book under MY name, quit calling it for other people.  If they would stop once you told them it would be one thing, but to call over and over and over again tends to piss even the most calm person off - especially when they call EVERY week during my one and only favorite TV show, lol!

My wife got a call from this outfit, identifying themselves as "GRC". They were trying to verify her sister's address and telephone number.  They told my wife that she was listed as a "job reference".  As soon as she got off the phone, she realized it was a collection agency.

Right. Here's the thing: I get calls for someone else. Every morning. No matter what I say, no matter what I tell them, they keep calling. No matter how many people I tell that I am not this person they are looking for, they will not relent. So neither will I. I may give them ONE more opportunity and if that fails, I'm looking up the address to this number, I'm going to find the location of these people, and though god may have mercy on their souls, I will NOT. If I must, I will find them. I hope you are not amongst them.

I am on the National Do Not Call Registry.  Yet, they keep calling and harassing me.  Dont know whether its a debt collector or telemarketer.  Yet, I just started school and they call me, i dont have any debt and not just that, they call me on my work cell phone and if they keep doing it, i will lose my job.  They have called me 3x a day at least all week and they are becoming an issue of harassment.

Guess Who can eat my a$$. It's called LIFE. Things don't always go according to plan. Even if someone DID take out a student loan at one time, then lose the ability to pay it back due to, oh let's say CANCER or some other disease there is STILL NO EXCUSE for calling to harass that person.
And if you have no human sense of compassion, then look at it logically. You can't get blood from a stone. If someone doesn't have the means and probably won't for the remainder of their life, the collector is spinning their wheels - wasting their company's resources.
And if all else fails, look at from a legal standpoint. There are rules, regulations, and laws. They need to follow them or close their doors.
I am sick of all these self-righteous ignoramouses posting about what everybody else SHOULD be doing. Live a day in my shoes, you asshats. THEN you can tell me what I SHOULD be doing. Until then, stick you head back up where it belongs and stay away from keyboards.
