Got so many calls from them, but when I answered they knew everything about me and my school loans. Then When I'm at work, they call to speak to my boss to verify employment. Not 100% sure who these people are.

I tried calling back but they asked for a pin... like who the **** knows what pin they are talking about?!

I just answered a call from them and it was a woman from General Revenue Corporation....https://www.generalrevenue.com/employment.htm...a debt collector
She seemed to think I was someone else and kept asking me if if I was that person then if I new them. Then I told her about all the complaints I read about this number online and she gave me their address  to complain and it linked me to the website above....I think people give false phone numbers, hence the unwanted  calls to innocent people...

This person identified himself as "Joe, the supervisor" He stated he was from a Corporation out of New York with Salle Mae for a student loan default. He knew everything about me and then asked for my routing number to my bank to withdraw money from my banking account to pay on my student loan. When I would not give him the information, he got rude and threaten to take the money through garnishment. They will keep calling your employer. I am going to send a letter to the State Attorney General's Office website and file a compliant and with the Better Business Bureau, due to asking for verification of an address to contact this company by mail. and they refused do that.

You know he can garnish your wages right? He doesn't even need to take you to court! My mom owed on her student loans and she was told she would be garnished. It's honestly not "threatening" it is more of telling you what he is going to do and is what he has to do if you don't pay.

I have been through the whole collection process myself with defaulted student loans.  Yes and do I mean yes, a collection agency can garnish your wages without having to go to court. If they are contacting your employer then you might want to do something before they start the garnishment process.  Just think of it this way, what will your employer think of you if you don't pay your student loans? Will they think of you as a good employee? Just food for thought...

This number just called my exhusband and I asking about a woman neither of us knew. He gave an address that was right across from our house 7 years ago. He stated that he got our numbers from public records, but strangely neither mine nor his #'s are in our names, they are in our significant others names. I didn't speak to the guy but find it very weird that this man found us both by public records. Be wary of answering this man's questions.

Answered a call from this number and got silence.  I called back and spoke to someone.  I asked the name of the company and she said it was General Revenue company.  I told her I just got a call from them and they hung up.  She said she would transfer me but then I got put on hold.  After several minutes of waiting and hearing the recorded message that my "call is important to them", I finally gave up.

Have no idea, but they left a message for me by name on my voicemail something about trying to reach a David Roulet?  Gave a reference # and callback #

These debt collectors are getting stupid - I pay my bills and am still getting harassed for crap I don't owe.

If you are getting collection calls, they can't legally state what the reason they are calling is about until you proove you are the person they are looking for, per the FDCPA. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf
So you can ask them all you want, but they are not going to tell you. General Revenue deals with defaulted student loans. This number specifically, is usually for newly defaulted loans (within the past 6 months). I've had to deal with these people and they DO NOT give up until you pay or they are contacting your job for wage garnishment. It's a hell of a process and the payments are costly and could barely afford them without cutting back a few things (who needs cable anyway), but i'm glad to say i've taken care of my debt and am no longer in collections!

Got a call from this company, have no idea why and didn't know the person they were calling about.  They said it was a "business" matter.  When I called back to validate, they wouldn't give me any information.  Very fishy!

This number called my mom today and asked her to have my father go next door and "speak to the woman who lives there about not paying on her bills." Well, first of all -- what? Who would ask a neighbor to do such a thing? Second, my father is deceased. Third, the neighbor lady hasn't lived there for six months. This is a horrible company and somebody needs to close its doors.
