- Diane| 55 repliesThis is a legitimate Wells Fargo number and someone has stolen my cc info and is making charges on my card. If they call you, call them back or look up another number to call Wells Fargo. You could be a victim too.

- LauraI received a voicemail from this number saying it was Wells Fargo Fraud Prevention, but I called a different Wells Fargo number to confirm; they told me NOT to call back this number as it was likely a scam. The representative I spoke to said that if the bank suspects your card has been stolen, or needs to verify a transaction, they will simply block your card until you call to confirm with them. The representative informed me that there was no record of this number as a Wells Fargo number. I would recommend calling a known Wells Fargo number (on the back of your card, or on their website) if this happens to you, but DO NOT CALL BACK THIS NUMBER AND GIVE UP YOUR INFO!!
- Lisa| 2 repliesI got calls from this mumber to verify my VISA information on this weekend. I just simply added this number to the reject list.
- CCNumber is a scam
- Caller: wells fargo
- Vince D| 1 replyIt's real. And amazing how different stories appear here. I too called the number on the back of my card and was told that the 446-0664 number is valid. They really did want to check on some recent charges -- and I know why, given a large purchase over the weekend. Again, it's real.
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- DennisTotally legit. Checked my account online, bank had blocked it. Eight fraudulent charges. Call the number on your card if you don't trust this number.
- Caller: Wells Fargo
- AshleaCall is legit - my card was temporarily blocked when I signed into my account.
This was for my Wells Fargo CREDIT card. If you have a debit card too and get this call and call the normal Wells Fargo banking (rather than credit services) they won't know what's going on, which could explain why some people don't think it's legit.
When I finally did get to card services, the rep confirmed the call was legit and if I'm ever concerned about the validity, to just call the number on the back of my card.- Caller: Wells Fargo Credit Card Fraud Prevention
- Mary| 1 replyIf this is legit as so many have said....why did they call me? I don't have nor have I ever had a Wells Fargo account!
- HeatherIt is legit. made a purchase out of state, and they called me before I could even got to my car to check if it was a charge I made. It was, but there were others that were not. After calling this number back, I checked my account online and it reported at the top in RED that this account was closed due to being lost or stolen.
- WFcustomerIt's legit! Rec'd a call from this number at 9:11am Sunday. I block or ignore 800#'s and look them up online for reports from other people who have rec'd a call from the 800number to see what's up. This time it was LEGIT -- WF had put a block on my account until I verified that yesterday's transactions were made by me, which they were. The charge at Macy's had to be voided and rung thru a second time because the cash register was not printing correctly (the receipt was blank). The Macy's cashier is a 25 year employee who gave me her business card just in case I had concerns about the transaction. I did not call back 800-446-0664 but called the number on the back of my WF Visa instead and verified all pending charges with the WF customer service rep. I'm glad I called because a block had been put on my card and I would have been mighty peeved if my card was denied!

- You are not hacking Me| 3 repliesVince, Diane (Coincidentally the first) and Andrew must be related to this scam.
It is a confirmed scam call.
It is not a a Wells Fargo number. I assure you. It is a scam. Problem is they have your name and phone number. Don't help them by typing your credit card information into the system. - late night shopper| 1 replyNumber is legitimate. I work for wells fargo and they called me because I had bought gas at 3AM one morning, which was out of my normal purchasing pattern. They verified that it was a legitimate phone call and went over my recent and questionable purchases.

- vance replies to Diane| 26 repliesNO IT IS NOT! The actual Wells Fargo Fraud number is 800-723-5533. This is a SCAM to get your credit card information. DO NOT CALL BACK!
- everyone replies to Andrew| 5 repliesAnyone who says this is valid is part of the SCAM
- Wells Fargo customerI just received a call from this number. The only information they asked from me was my zip code. They had my other information in their files already. They were asking about a $5 charge at Bed, Bath & Beyond, because we have not used this card for months. This charge was not from us, and is fraud. They closed my account and will issue a new card.
After reading the comments above, I became suspicious. I called the number on the back of my actual credit card, and Wells Fargo verified that my account had been flagged and closed. They verified that it was a valid call, and they had already processed the account closure. So, this number is NOT fraudulent. - FakeYeah, this thing is fake. Have been receiving the exact same message for many different numbers. Always a call for Allison Whorechalman. Somehow they got a hold of my work number which is not registered to Wells Fargo ever. All ignore.
- LesterCalled Wells Fargo, they did not recognize the number. Safest thing to do is get another number from an official Wells Fargo website to see if there is really a problem with your account.
- CynthiaNumber is legit - it is Wellls Fargo Fraud department. Got a call when I placed a large charge on my card - they had all my info on file just verified who I was through a zip code - did not give them any other info. Charges on my card had been declined until they checked me out - they left me a number for WF customer services. I called there and WF verified everything for me.
