800-454-2227

Received three calls from this number. The first time I go a recording saying "is an important call. This is not a sales call or solicitation." The second time I answered the call disconnected. finally a person who could barely speak English called and said he is from "Bay Area Credit Service" and that I have an unpaid bill from AT&T. I know for sure I don't.

Out of the blue I started getting these calls on my cell phone.  The message is the same as above "is an important call. This is not a sales call or solicitation."   Calls are made early or late.  I have refused to call them back.  I'm retired and don't owe money to anyone.

Started off with someone speaking possibly spanish real low, possibly in the background or a recording, then a man saying hello repeatedly. Then the recording that this is not a sales call or solicitation. This was all left on the answering machine, with the above mentioned call back number.

someone says he's from Bay Area Credit, wants to give a personal message to my mother in law, whose elderly and frail....he can not speak english well but calls himself Danny and says the call is a very personnel matter. Its some type of scam I'm certain....she owes no money.

leaves message daily.  annoying

Same as some of the others above. Has left me at least two recordings stating that this is not a sales call or solicitation. I refuse to call back.

Same crap for me.  I called back and after the initial greeting the phone disconnected.  I called back a 2nd time and after the initial greeting it went to a busy signal.  Thanks for the info.

Same prob said "is an important call. This is not a sales call or solicitation" and I made the mistake of calling back.  They said that I owed money to AT&T and they were needing my credit or debit card to pay for it.  Thank you all for the information it came in handy for this.

Same issue here. 3 calls in 6 days. All from India. I don't even use AT&T. Am using digital phone through cable so I know I don't owe AT&T. Told them to send me an itemized bill of what they claim I owe. Was told that if I would just give them a post-dated check for my next pay date, then this wud all be handled easily. I refused and hung up. Just received another call 20 mins ago.

I keep gettin calls from these people and I looked it up and found this posting. I don't owe any money when I kept questioning the guy I called he just hung up.

I received a call and they left a message that this is not a solicitation call and to call back 800-454-2227.  HOwever, the caller id shows a different number 800-697.1234 which also comes back as Bay Area Credit Service.

new cell phone and keep getting these calls.. they are wasting my business cell phone minutes.  then i have tried calling back and keep getting a message, busy and hang up.  finally tried pushing 2 for spanish (cannot speak it but figured out that much) at least that way i get a place to leave a message.  finally reached a person today and they hung up.  What is up with this and who the heck are they?

Same issues, I called back once and was immediately disconnected. They leave a message every day now and I don't even have AT&T.

recently started getting these calls from 800-697-1234, pre-recorded message saying "We have an important call for you, blah, blah,.... call 800-697-1234"
I travel internationally on business and have been getting these at odd hours, and they are being left on my voicemail.  Gets expensive to check voice mail from outside the country, especially for this crap. Called my service provider to get the calls blocked, but they say they can't block calls.  I'd have to change my number - yeah, right.  What is the solution?
