- FrankieI hope Apple and or Verizon is gonna do something about this ,they are hacking our phones
- Carol| 5 repliesThis number popped up and locked my safari. When I called I was asked to plug my iPad into another computer to allow them access to help. I did that. After telling me I was hacked they then wanted to connect me directly with a companybthat would charge me $300 to fix all of my computers. I would not do this and he persisted, I refused and hung up, that's when I looked up and found out this is a scam. I disconnected my wifi and then searched on my phone to find out this was a scam. I hope I didn't go to far with letting them into my other computer.
- Mel replies to CarolYou need to call Apple right away!!!
- JeanSafari stopped working on my iPad. Message was that there was a security risk and I was instructed to call this number (message said that it was Apple Support). I called the number, which by the way sounded professional - asks you to hold for next available technician, music while you wait, estimated waiting time. When the rep got on the phone, he instructed me to hook my iPad up w/ my laptop. I asked him what the issue was and he said he didn't have time to explain and again told me to hook up my iPad w/ my laptop. I thought his response was very un-Apple like so I told him I was going to call Apple directly and hung up. I then googled the # and realized I had almost made a big mistake. I also followed Apple's Tech Support instructions for clearing Safari's history on my iPad and Safari was restored.

- DixiemamaIt's a scam. I too got a pop up on my iPad in Safari saying there was a security issue and to call Apple right away at the above number. I called from my land line. The guy that answered was asking for something and I couldn't understand his accent. I asked him to repeat it and still couldn't understand it. I told him I would talk to my IT guy and hung up.
