I have received over 5 message from either a Chief Senior Vincent Bower, Chief Senior Officer Bower, Officer Bower and some unnamed women stating the are call from the Evans Law Associates, stating that I or my attorney need to call them regarding a legal matter that is pending at my local county court.  They also stated that my wages will be garnished if I don't call.  They have also called several family members that share the last name (my maiden name) they have given variation of case number to make it seem that it is issued by the courts.  I have been given a deadline of 9pm and 5pm on just about all the messages.  I contact the office and spoke with a Ms. Walker who told me what is best for me and that she is not tring to scare me, but I should do as she says and that I have been served with an offical VOE (have not received anything from this company) They contact several family members asking for a sworn deposition.  Wants me to pay for $6000 bill that has already been taken care of for about 8 years now.  I will have my attorney contact them and file a compliant with the FTC.

I received a call from this "firm" yesterday. They left a voice mail and I returned the call. The individual I spoke with claimed to a a paralegal in the law office of Jason Evans. This was for a debt written off in October of 2002. They were using my maiden name (been married many years now) they had the state wrong that the debt was incurred in. When I advised him that this debt was outside the SOL for Florida, he claimed that if I wanted to stick to that they would just turn it over the to IRS on a 1099 "unearned income" which would get my audited by the IRS and I would have to pay the IRS taxes on that "income".  He sent me a "letter of settlement" to my e-mail address.
Thanks to this site I will no longer be verbaly conversing with them and I plan to follow up with a debt verification letter.

I too have been contacted by Evans Law Offices also Evans Associates.  They have yet to send me anything in writing only phone calls.  There
"collectors" act as lawyers and are liars.  They have several numbers, addresses, and names that they use.  Check out budhibbs.com and you will see many consumer complaints about Evans Law Office.  They also operate under Delta Group and Quadrant.  I just found out they do not even have a surety bond in my state to collect. I have contacted an attorney to sue.  Give them a taste of their own medicine!!

I receieved a call on my cell phone on Friday June 20, 2008.  I didn't get to answer the call at the time because I was at work.  There was no voicemail left but when I got a few moments I called the 716-446-1070 number.  Some guy named Ron answered and told me that if I didn't pay anything or have a plan set up by 4:30 that afternoon he would have the papers submitted to have a hearing. He told me the Sheriffs department would come to my work and serve the papers there. I was almost thinking of setting up some kind of payment plan but I don't have the money to do that.  I was so scared and I was glad to see this website.

I got the call too. I have NEVER had a Discover Card. Using information from a Social Security Number is a Federal violation of law and we need the Feds to step in and shut this company and NCO ( another simuler scam operation)

Message to my father in law from a DAMIEN from Jason Evans law firm. Wants to ask him questions about me before they file in county court.

This firm called me too regarding collection of a 3-yr old debt.  I spoke with Mr Ron Silverman, Director of Operations.  he told me that I could settle my $800 debt with a payment of $500, by certified check or credit card.  I told him to send me an email from his company server so that I cold validate his organization.  he did so, but I have not been able to load the website www.evans-law.com .  His email was rsilverman@evans-law.com . He also sent me a letter on his company stationary stating the details of the payoff offer.

I dont know who these guys are, but debt collection is funny business I guess. I suspect that if a debt remains unpaid, then somehow others have a right to try and get some of it. I dont intend to pay them anything.  If they call again I will get my own lawyer.

my mom co-signed for a friends daughter for a car...she stopped paying on the car and this law office started contacting my mom she is 76 yrs.old...they threatened her and told her they were taking her to court and going to arrest her...the new everything from her credit cards to how much she had in her saving acct....he told my mom that he would settle for 5000.00 and the case would be closed... my mom sent them a certified check...my mom has the car now...but now we are trying to get the title but when i called they said that Mr. Cook on his notes had put down that they couldn't release the title b/c it was a double title name...now they are trying to collect another 2000.00 from my mom friends daughter...we r going to see a lawyer on Monday...is that even legal for them to do that??  what he told my mom and what he did were totally the opposite...i wished i would of come to this website before my mom got scammed...

I got a call today from 1 800 459 1223 and they left a message on my answering machine.  It said that there was urgent an urgent business matter related to my ss# and that I needed to call back right away.  They also left a case number.  I called back and a woman answered.  I gave her the case number and she said they were looking for Mrs. Fitzgerald.  I have NO IDEA who that is!  She said she would remove my number, and I would not get another call.  We'll see....I'm curious to see if they'll call again.

Evans Law Associates have been hounding me since March 2008. They claim I suigned an agreement which I never did, called my 86 y/o mother harrassing her with phone calls for a debt I had in 1998. I have sent them money until I found a web site that they are scammers. I am now out for 500 dollars to these scammers. I wishI had known this before.
