Yes, it's a collections company called Progressive Financial Services. They usually do medical collections.

They have called the last couple of days leaving menacing messages saying that i owe money that I am not a ware of.  I told them to send a bill.  They wanted me to pay over the phone with a CC. They also asked for my social security number! I asked them if they were crazy?!? I would not give them my CC number or social security and they said they would continue to call until I paid.  I told them I would report their company "Progressive Financial Services" to the state Attorney General's Office.

I keep getting automated calls from these guys.  They are Progressive Financial Services.  They're not looking for me, though.  They seem to be looking for my dad who passed away 11 years ago.  I called them and explained that they had the wrong person - and that my deceased father could not possibly owe them any money - especially since they said the medical charges in question were made fairly recently.  They wanted me to give them his SS# and birthdate, but that's just plain crazy.  They continue to call me - even after I sent them a cease and desist letter and a copy of my dad's obituary.  Don't get mixed up with them if you can help it!

I have received calls from the number but they hang up before I can answer and never leave a message.

I received a automated callfrom Progressive Financial  that said for me to hang up if I am not Elizabeth Palmer other wise stay on the line because  it is a call  concerning a bill and to call them back at the 800-474-3798.  When I called the number back I got another automated phone message that said all agents are busy and to stay on the phone till and an agent would be with me.  I stayed on hold for  quite a while waiting as their music played.  Another automated Phone message came on and said all agents are busy or on another line and to please leave my name phone number and account number if known.  

I filed chapter 7 Bankruptcy Oct. 19th 2010 and I am sure they should not be contacting me.   Progressive Financial is listed on my bankruptcy. from a old medical bill I owed.
Anyway, I do not get a live voice when I call.  I am wondering if I should call back and leave my bankruptcy number on the voice mail.  I really don't want to do that because I have to leave my name and phone number I don't know what they are up to.

No you need to sue them. They are in violation of the bankruptsy code. Just sue them in small claims court. No muss, no fuss.

These people call EVERY D--- Day !  I talked with them twice and told them they were barking up the wrong tree.  I have NO outstanding debts and owe NOBODY  Nothing.!  They then proceeded to tell me that I owed money to a financial institution from 4 years ago.  That loan has LONG Been taken care of.  I told this fellow that if he can't understand Arizona Law he might get somebody who does.  AND.. IF this outfit continues to harass me I will sue for everything they have.  Then this fellow wanted my address, social security number, credit card number, etc.  saying that We need to take care of this.  My response to him was: Take care of What?  I owe nothing however I can certainly cause you some grief with a lawsuit.  He then hung up.
 Can't something be done about these bottom feeders?  This has been going on for almost 3 months now.  My lawyer here told me to ignore them.  But, IF something ever does come in the mail he will be glad to take care of the situation.  Also, they don't use the same phone number all the time.

They call every day, always leave an automated message, never telling who they are or why they're calling.  Answered once and they asked for Jane Doe, and if not Jane Doe to simply hang up.  So I did and they called back the next day.  Slightly different message asking for Jane Doe and saying to press "8" if they have the wrong number.  So I pressed "8" got transfered to what sounded like a call center based on the background noise but nobody ever actually got on the line and I waited for a couple minutes on speaker phone before I simply hung up.

Filed a complaint with the FCC (www.fcc.gov) about them since it a violation as they never say who they are and caller ID simply says "toll free call"

Or you might keep more money in your pocket by not doing business with chronic spammers from "Liberty Marketing" in Florida. They would have you pay $600 a year for access to stump speeches masquerading as advice and to be pelted with advertising from all of their affiliate marketer friends. Shirley needed to change lawyers. "Just ignore them" is not an answer. She had simple options provided by federal law to dispatch bullying lawbreakers. In short, first you put the agency on notice. If it doesn't obey orders or the law, you sue them into submission.

Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Many are simple to exercise if you only learn how. You are entitled to proof of claim and fair treatment. If you get neither, the collection agency should *not* win your assets. You are granted control of how you are contacted, the right to dispute debt claims, and the means to sue violators at low cost. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. FCC has next to no jurisdiction over debt collectors. Complaints to the CFPB, FTC, and attorneys general are better placed. But if you want a personal solution, get it yourself and don't wait for a rescue.

A dud Caller ID of "toll free" or "unknown" violates nothing when coming from debt collectors. They answer to different laws from telemarketers. The message described is a typical skip trace call. The agency shied from revealing a business name to avoid a lawsuit for breaching the privacy of "Jane Doe".

This "agency" calls EVERY day... two to 4 times a day.  They leave a message ( with a very British Accent) that says they are looking for Jack or Larry. If you are not Jack or Larry please call this 800 number to verify.  I called today and they wanted my social security number, phone number , account number.  I told the lady that I do NOT have an account number and I will NOT give you my social security number.  I asked them to stop harassing me and to get their names and numbers straight. I've had this number for over 2 years.  I doubt if any of this did any good.!!  Guess it's time to see a Lawyer.!
