Several monts ago, my wife received a call indicating that since we were such good clients of Hilton, they wanted to give us something like 3 days and 4 nights at the Orlando site. For legitimate reasons, she cancelled and was told that there was a $25 cancellation fee. We never received any paper work so the $25 appears out of line. On top of this she was made to wait 45 minutes before anyone came on the phone. I am cancelling the $25 fee with VISA. I do not believe this is a legitimate Hilton operation. God only knows what would have happened if we had shown up! One more thing,,,the cancellation number was supposed to be the same as the Confirmation. Not normal business policy. I would duck this....

I also received the call and do think it is a scam. They would not provide anything in writing before the sale and pressured to close the sale without allowing me time to investigate. These guys are just too slick to be trusted.

Caller identified himself as Everett Campbell, employee number 22195, Hilton Grand Vacation Hotel in Orlando, FL offering my wife and self 1 week at the Waikoloa Hotel on the Big Island. Offered free intermediate size car for week and $200 coupon for stay at any Hilton. Total cost: $799.00.

Wanted credit card for half down right away.Said he could not provide a callback number and was not really interested in sending any information in the mail. Wanted me to jump on offer because slots were filling up rapidly.

Telephone log shows that someone had called a number of times from Hilton.

Then said he would call back tomorrow when he heard my hesitation. He said his boss needed to know my interest on a scale of 1-10 and wanted to hear a high number. I said 6. He said that was not good enough and will I please think of a higher number. I said 6. He hung up.

This is not a scam  - it is a legitimate deal offered by Hilton. Hilton now offers timeshare ownership and they provide this deal for their guest to visit their Hilton Grand Resorts. Hiltongrandvacations.com

This is a legitimate business. I rec'd the phone number after booking a 3-day, 2-night stay at their Grand Vacation club resort in Las Vegas. This phone number is to be called once I decide to firm up the dates I'd like to stay. I know that there is a 2-hour presentation that's attached to it, but I know people who have stayed at this resort and they say it's beautiful, and the presenation is often shorter than expected. However, I also understand from a few reviews that they do keep calling post-stay to see if anyone has changed their mind. I couldn't pass up the deal and will just enter the number in my contacts as "Hilton Sales," and send straight to voice mail. I'd also use a "real" Credit Card (not a Debit) in case any of the headaches mentioned above (duplicate charges, etc) rear their ugly heads. Visa/MC/AmEx/Discover have fraud policies that are easier to navigate. My 2 cents! :)

Don't fall for it! I got repeated hang-up calls from this number, then finally answered. I was offered the 3 nt Vegas stay and said "NOT interested". Then the guy put his supervisor on the phone who bugged the [***] out of me for an additional 15 minutes, throwing in a few extra incentives and assuring me I could find a friend to go, charge them full price for the trip and basically go for free. It was annoying and I should have hung up but I took the bait. My bad. It's NON-refundable and they HAD to have my decision ASAP on the phone! As soon as I hung up,I researched the resort, finding out it's at the North end of the strip... not near anything! No bar/restaurant, gaming either. I also found numerous internet forums dedicated to complaints about the BOGUS "Stay a Night on US" certificate, saying they bate and switch it for a SPECIFIC property instead of the promised flexible certificate good for ANY Hilton property. My friends all laughed in my face saying they stay for FREE at the Bellagio when they gamble and couldn't believe I paid to go to Vegas. Also, NO flights out of Vero Beach... meaning I have to drive to Orlando at 4AM to go to Vegas and pay over $600 for the privilege. Most expensive "bargain" Ive ever been suckered into buying. What a scam. I'm done with Hilton.. Marriott all the way from now on!

Don't do it!  They make you think it's such a great deal when in fact i can book something similiar on my own with the same amount of money.  Only difference is I don't have to decide "today"!  Once I signed up I received phone calls multiple times during the week all hours of the day and night to the point where I felt it was harrassment.  Unfortunately if you are reading this you probably already signed up because they make you decided right there.  I called the company to see if I could get a refund because of my father-in-law being put in hospice and unforseen costs accrueing with flying back and forth and then saddly enough ended with a funeral.  They could care less.  I am almost to the point where I will never give a Hilton company my business again.  Very disappointed in this company.  Shame on them!!!!

Seams legit - I booked hotel reservations via phone and the rep asked if I was interested in a 4 days 3 nights deal for $299.  I went with it.  I was transferred and given the 800-482-0047 phone number in case disconnected.  To be honest, because I was transferred by the hotel I think it's legit.  My card has not yet been charged though.

Legit: Made a reservation at a hilton hotel via phone and was then directed to the rewards line. Was given the offer of 3 night 4 days in my choice of (vegas or florida) with the 2 hour presentation requirement for $149 plus tax. I also made the representative confirm my husband's name, his rewards number and our last known address to make sure it wasn't a scam. He was very courteous through the whole encounter as I gave him an extremely hard time.
Called the credit card company right after and the charge showed up as hilton rewards honors club. I also got a new credit card number issued just in case so that there would be no further charges if it was a scam. I did call the number they gave me upon confirmation, which was a hilton's honors club concierge.
Sounds a little over cautious, but it made me feel better.

People please think for a moment. Did it ever occur to any of you that, while this number may be legit, it may be also getting spoofed by scammers trying to look legit themselves? Plus, I've never heard of Hilton doing a timeshare deal-they're a hotel chain.

This is not a scam. It is real. It is well worth your time if you are willing to spend two hours of your time with them on your trip. It is for sales and marketing (timeshare) with Hilton Grand Vacations directly (Hilton Worldwide).

I was transferred to this line after talking with Hilton Honors about my points. I signed up for their offer of 5 night at Waikoloa in the Big Island in Hawaii, with free rental car, and $200 for a stay at another Hilton later. The total was $799. I got an email showing the charge to be $901. I called them about it and they said the extra was for taxes. However, in the email confirmation I received, it talked about charges for not booking within 45 day of purchase ($50) and extra charges for holiday, high season, or weekend rates (from $49 to $129 a night) and Hawaii Peak Season fees may apply and are $50 per day based on dates selected. I called back to ask about this, because except for Christmas, the operator who sold me the package did not say anything about this. I also asked about resort fees, which I found out the hotel usually charges, and parking. She told me the peak season dates for Hawaii, and that parking was only for one of their towers, and that the booking within 45 days did not apply to Hawaii, and that there was no resort fee. But they would not give me any written material to confirm this, so I asked to cancel. The operator tried to make it personal, saying I didn't trust her, but I just said sorry, it was my money. And they did refund it, even though she said it was nonrefundable. So I am happy. I just didn't feel comfortable trusting what might happen.

I received a call stating that they were from Apple and that my computer had been compromised by people from Mexico and Russia and to not use it to access bank or account information. To Press 1 to speak with a support tech. When I did, the lady had an Asian(Indian) accent, I could hear other people speaking in the background. She said Ma'am do you know anyone in Mexico or Russia? And then I heard a man laugh and she said Sir do you have a computer available. I then hung up.

Call back to the number does indeed get "Thank you for calling Hilton Grand Vacations company" and this is the number listed on their website.  As to whether this vacation club offers are a "good deal" depends on who is reviewing it.  You may want to read reviews and certainly the "fine print" on any contracts before signing on to anything.
