Kim - 21 Feb 2008Called this number, you would be mailing out letters to people from HUD concerning refunds. You have to pay $80 for the "packet". I told the lady I would call back. I think I may contact HUD to see if this is a hoax.

sandy - 13 Mar 2008I was told it would also cost 22.00 per week for postage and when I told her I did not have the money she would't tell me any details and said to call back when I have the money. It sounds like you take a percentage of the money you refund???? Let me know if you learned anything about this.

Luis - 26 Mar 2008i contacted HUD and they said there are groups out there that charge to retrieve refunds for ppl...but that they are not in particular endorsed by HUD, but it sounded like they were legit as far as they do what they say they do..i wasn't warned it was a hoax?

Luis - 27 Mar 2008okay i also found out that you have to collect the 'fee' from the ppl AFTER they collect their money/refund, so you can decide to not pay you...thats too risky, plus you could get convicted of two big crimes, one to work for HUD or to pose as if its a HUD approved program or that you work for them, also to say there is some mandatory claim that there must be a fee invol;ved in them getting their refunds when they can get it for free without the 'tracer' through the HUD.gov website...
