- Bebe| 1 replyCalled three times, first it was a man, then it was a woman. Said they were collection agency, but heard distinct laughter in background. She said her name was Michelle Martin.
Sounded extremely unprofessional.
Very likely fraudulant. Beware...possible identity theft! - AlbertI didn't pick up and they left a recorded VM about debt collection, asking for a callback. I called, and a guy muttered, "Yeah, yeah, who's calling?" When I did not respond, he then said, "This is ERC. Who am I speaking with?"

- Annoyed| 3 repliesDebt Collection Agency... Didn't catch the name... They called me at work about a debt I owe... Apparently it's not illegal to call at work in the state of Texas even though I NEVER gave my work number to the original comapny nor did I work at the same place I did at the time I had the credit card... any advise or help is appreciated... I can't have personal calls at work and they're calling every day.

FYI--ERC is also setting up shop across the State line and into Southwest Georgia with the assistance of the Governor, who has provided a "grant" in the amount of $600,000 to pay for the software and hardware which will be used to operate their autodialers in the new call center.
And, guess WHO ERC's "next door" neighbors will be?:
"Bass & Associates"/aka "States' Predisposition Services"/aka/"United Federal Bank", who has fled from Georgia and into Florida to avoid prosecution by the Florida AG, who is trying to shut them down.
Both ERC and States have been sued for multiple violations of the FDCPA. But, who NEEDS the FDCPA, when you have "friends" in high places?- Caller: Enhanced Recovery Corporation

- Terry In FL replies to dorknerdERC, but they used to be called something else, though I can't recall it. They also call from 800-403-8950. Have been calling me for over a year, usually 3-5 times a week. I rarely answer and get an automated msg on my voice mail.
From the few times I've spoken to them, it's a collection agency. I do have outstanding bills, so figured it was legit, but I don't speak to collection agencies, especially ones that can't be bothered to have a person call me. - Confused. They called my mom asking for her and they were very rude and they even wanted me to make a conference call. They scared me and then I hung up on me. They only told me that they were ERC and that they were a buisness and they wanted my moms work number like the actual number. I didn't give it to them and I won't be answering there calls anymore.

repeating our phone number, and keep trying to get me to tell them my SSN.
They must think I'm crazy. They keep say they are a Collection Agency. Say
I have an outstanding debt with them and they are saying it is in Tennessee.
They have also called my some which is named after me. This has as is very
aggrevating and annoying. Please if we can get any way to stop them from
calling us let us know. We told them we were going to contact our attorney
today 10/28/09 and he to me he would not hear from any attorney.- Caller: Collection Agency

- Hate UnknownsTwo hang up calls around 8am the past two days. I had been getting calls from 3 different agencies since October, looking for someone else. I never picked it up, and they mostly hung up or left a recording. The companies were Accounts Receivables Management, Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, and Academy Collections Services.
I've decided to just hang up on them from now in when possible, instead of letting it ring or turning the ringer off.
Caller ID said "Toll Free Call." How helpful.- Call type: Debt collector
- NOT TRAN VUERC is up to their same old bag of tricks...I kept getting this phone call regarding an attempt to collect a debt so I called them back and the first thing I get is a voice recording. I selected the wrong number option and got a live person on the line after entering my number. She (I believe her name was Chelsea--who sounded sweet & innocent but apparently brain washed by some crooked mgr/owner...) asked me if I was Tran Vu? I said no I wasn't this person and definitely not first generation Vietnamese. I then asked how ERC got my number and Chelsea informed me it was a recycled number...well it clicked in my brain that I received calls from ERC years ago regarding this Tran Vu ( I knew the name sounded familiar). What really set me off is that Chelsea made it sound like it was my fault for getting a recycled number--a sad state of affairs we live in these days. By the way their 1800 number has changed to 1-800-576-1852 or ERC uses several of them from different locations--who knows. Also, NEVER...EVER...GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL DATA OR INFO BECAUSE DEBT COLLECTORS ARE GOING AFTER EVERYBODY & EVERYTHING (EX-SPOUSES/CHILDREN/RELATIVES/NEIGHBORS...ETC.)....THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED AND PREY ON THE PUBLIC! BE VERY CAREFUL...

- AnnoyedThis people keep calling my work number and many times hang up when the call is answered. Also, they play a recording saying "If you're not ....... ........." please delete the message," but there's no information on how to delete the message or make them stop calling. The person they seek does not work here.

- the kidReceive 15 - 20 calls per week from this number. Have never answered. Always leaves automated message saying that this call is to collect a debt, all info provided will be used for that purpose. Also says I should call back or go to website www.payerc.com and enter a reference code or file number which it provides. I have no outstanding bills that I am aware of, but am reluctant to go to the website and provide the file number, in case it is bogus and I would only be confirming for them that they have reached a real phone number. All my creditors would have my address, so if it's about something legit they can just send me a bill in the mail like in the old days. I guess if they can't do that, then I can't pay.

- Debtor| 5 repliesI just got a call from them. I have a few outstanding debts so, who knows which it's for. I came here just to figure out what debt it's for ..... and all I see is a buncha whining and complaining. Jesus people. I know the calls get annoying, but if we had paid our bills, no one would be calling. Plus, if you guys were smart, you'd just IGNORE blocked #'s or #'s you don't know. If it's an emergency from someone you know, they WILL leave a message or persistently call back, so don't worry. Do you guys KNOW that you CAN ignore all collections calls unless they're from an attorney? If you're being sued, you WILL get screwed with a judgment. If you guys want to settle a debt you owe, for a WAY LESSER amount, answer the call and set up payments. Stop blaming collections/collectors for your own wrong doings. Aaaannnnddd, BTW, there is a statue of limitations on debt. They only have X amount of time, depending on your state law, to collect. So you can literally IGNORE THE CALLS until the debt goes away- UNLESS YOU GET SUED. Telling them to STOP or sending cease and desist is POINTLESS cause your debt gets sold over and over again so the new collections agency isn't aware you told the last one to stop.
Can someone post something helpful, like WHICH debt the place was calling about?
Thanks
