- M11 Sep 2007the guy that called me from this number stated he was a telemarker from Minneapolis, MN working for the Faternal Order of the Police. He did not identify himself and the company that he represents until several minuets of asking who and why he was calling.
He was very unprofessional when I asked him how they received my number since I was on the do not call list, then he hung up. Keep in mind that most 'computer dialers', dial several households at one time and if someone answers their phone first, the computer will hang up on your phone. That's where we all get annoyed by getting up to answer the phone only to find no one is there. I am on a Do Not Call List but for the past 30 days have been getting solicitation phone calls for veterans, police, fire, etc. The Better Business Bureau does not have them listed so I do not donate. If they ask my name to verify who they are talking to, I give a fake name and repeat that I am on a do not call list. They still ask for a donation.

They know who i am n won't stop calling i ask what they want they don't tell me they want a whole bunch of person information from me but i won't give it i kept askin them to identify themselves n they won't i hang up 3 days later they will call n do i all over again i wish it would stop any suggestions how to get rid of them!!

- This is the Faternal Order of Police, which is a real organization. But the call comes from a company the charity has hired to make the calls. The telemarketing company keeps 70 percent of the profits. And in my experiance the company making the calls is abusive. I have been asking them to stop calling for the last two years. I finally had to file a complaint with my state attorney general. It has gotten to the point where these people call daily. Including early Sunday morning. And I have never given them a dime.
As far as I can find none of the money they raise goes to any police officers. Liars, Scammers, and probably thieves.
I know I will never give them a penny. Now if I could just get them to stop calling. This kind of daily harrasment from a "charity" should not be legal.
- ringweary29 Aug 2009800 SERVICE is what reads on the caller ID. 888-583-7771 is the number on records. We get calls from this number at all times of day, up to 8:59 at night. We have answered a few times and spoken with them, but they will not identify themselves and get belligerent in asking questions. We no longer pick up. We looked up the number in a reverse number query, but nothing came up.
