these people calling leaving voice messages saying to call them back and refer to a file number.not saying what it refers to.when i do answer they say if it you not such and such to hang up. i did and they still calling back.i think they are a scam trying to rip people off about phony debts.

Since March, 2008 I have been receiving calls from this company and others looking for "Eva Chavez".  I have called these people several times to tell them I am the new holder of the phone number they are calling. They say they will remove my number from their files, but two weeks later I receive the same message from another number.  They are either trading numbers with other collection agencies, or have several different numbers for the same agency and give different company names when they call. (The messages are so similar, I think it is one company with different branches.)

A voice mail was left on my cell phone asking for my child.  They said they were trying to collect a debt.  They left a reference number & this 800 #.  I called the  number & told them that my child had no debt & she asked for my son's social security #.  WHen I refused, she stated that this problem will never be cleared up without the ss #.  I hung up.

I received a couple calls and they left only a file number on my machine.  They didn't give the name of the person they were trying to reach.  I called them back (from a different location), gave them the number they had called and they asked me for my name.  I didn't give them my name, but asked who they were trying to reach at that number.  They immediately hung up.

Call & left message on ans machine.  Asking for someone we do not know nor lives here.

if on do not call list file a conplant the more the better. This is getting old I have told them numbus times that the person the are looking for has moived more then three years ago.

This is an actual collection agency.  They called my house looking for my stepdaughter.  It may have to do with delinquent student loans.

I have been receiving calls for several years looking for a jennifer shepherd/shephard/shepperd/sheppard, etc on the spelling. I think they look up all the shepherds (whatever the spelling is on the loan) and the first initial of the person, and then keep calling them until they speak with a live person to verify if they have a jennifer. I don't have voice mail, so I called the number on the caller id box. The lady said it would be 24 hours and my number would be removed from their system. I've also gotten calls where it appears that my number was used by a borrower with an hispanic name. I always check out the toll free numbers on this site, then I call them back to let them know this is not a good number for their search. Then they remove me from the list and I don't get calls from that number again. Then it repeats again about a year later, with another toll free number looking for jennifer shepherd. I hope they find her. In a few months I'll be moving out of state. Hopefully, I'll not have the same problems following me. Maybe I'll just keep my old cell phone number instead of getting a new one. A landline is good to keep in case of storms knocking out towers, but I think I'll put it in my cats name. hehe

800 sevice but never leave a message I figure you can't leave a message then I don't need to talk to you. Yes gets me mad but I don't care they can't say who they want I don't call back

I called the number back and told them that I would be calling them back several times a day to annoy them,and Windy Richie promised to take my number out of the system. If they don't I'll hit redial off and on all day until they do,

3 or 4 calls a day.. won't say why they call for the most but had said call us back refer to such number as a case number.. I have no clue who they are or why they call me.. 09/20/2009 called me 3 times I pick up they would say not a word just hange up I called back ask who this is... they ask me who I am I ask that my number not be called again they ask what number they called I told them ...they ask who I am I refuse to tell them being they called me... the sir told me 9 people came up with my number I told him never call me again or I will fiel with the FCC

They call from several different 800 numbers, and no matter how many times I ask to be removed, and they guarantee they will do so in 2 - 4 business days, they just start using a new number to call me from. The last call I received I got hung up on three times while trying to ask to speak to a manager. My cell # is on do not call list but I am now going to have to file a complaint, hope this works.

I was pleasantly astounded to read a post from someone who writes in standard English.  (As I write, these idiots are calling yet again).  Best of luck in your new location, and, please, continue to use an "n" when a singular definite article precedes an "h."

Keeps calling my cell phone on a daily basis.  I don't have any debt.
I have heard many fellow employees are getting the same calls
from this same phone number.  I don't bother answering the calls
as I know it is a scam. They have told me that when they call back
that the person wants their social security number and financial
information.  We all know that it is a scam.  Plese stop these
calls.  We have all signed up for the DO Not CAll Registry for both
our cell phones and home phones.  This does not stop all the calls
from continuing to come in every week.

Would not tell me who they were. They were calling my daughter's cell phone & I called back & asked who they were & the man on the phone would not say.

These people have been calling for over a year even though the number they are reaching is a fax.  I love the idea that all they hear is that annoying fax sound.  I don't owe anyone anything.  I'm a great grandmother who is still running her hubby's business.  I've tried getting in touch with these jerks, but I never get an answer when I call.

they are a collection agency - They are a JUNK DEBT BUYER - they purchase worthless legally uncollectable debt for pennies. BUT THEY BREAK STATE AND FED LAWS AS A MATTER OF POLICY IN THEIR ATTEMPTS TO COLLECT THE FULL AMOUNT THAT YOU ARE NOT LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO PAY

HIGHLY DOUBTFUL ITS ABOUT STUDENT LOANS!  ITS PROBABLY A BOGUS DEBT TO START WITH
