Bud Says:
Typical of the Buffalo style CMS has an endless pool of potential employees to fill the chairs that feed their operations.
The newspaper stories extol the optimistic attitudes of owners, Jeffry Hauser and Larry Costa along with Patricia and Timothy Kraska of an ever growing business that needs only their talent and expertise to survive.
Emails and information from former employees suggest Capital Management Services is suffering from the same fate that most other Buffalo, NY debt collection organizations face in an unhappy work force, far reaching drug use and untrained, unprofessional management and work staff squeezing every minute they can out of their unprofessional collectors.
CMS, is suffering from too much growth too fast. The number of debt collectors in America is at an all time high, which has created a shortage of accounts to collect and a potential drought in areas like Buffalo, the debt collection capital of the world.
So if we use terms such as... ”Buffalo style collection practices’ to describe the actions of CMS employees and are told that drug use and criminal activity is on the increase, why should we even blink, isn’t that what the business in that area is expected to do?
If CMS has anything good going for them, it is the fact that they have an experienced and respected attorney in Patricia Cipriani. Her background and reputation may be saving Hauser a bundle in legal settlements. Don’t count on luck forever Jeffrey, your house is reported to be a mess and it needs a thorough cleaning.
Anyone dealing with Capital Management Services, Buffalo, NY be warned to take precautions, NEVER give a collector your banking or credit card information, tape ALL of their conversations and contact me for referral to attorneys. As long as they are making money, they will continue to pay off their law suits.

- vocalvalerieA woman called from Capital Management and when I told her I wasn't the person she was looking for she said she would take my number off the list. I then told her I was trying to figure out what was going on because it is just recently I'm receiving calls from different companies asking for different names. She said in a nasty voice my number would be taken off the list and then hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor (she answered the phone)and she asked what it was in referance to. I explained about the phone calls and she said very nastily-your number was already taken off the list by a supervisor and it is none of your business. I stated I wanted to talk to a supervisor that I was hung up on and she hung up on me again!

- TOO Bad, SO Sad....RUDE isn't the word for these people. Only I can't post it on this website.
Several years ago I was out of work on STD and drawing only 60% of my salary. As a result, I had to make my mortgage payment, utilities, food and medications top priority over my credit card payments. I had already written all my creditors (including Cross Country Bank), and informed them of my situation. All of them were willing to work with me...with the exception of CCB. When I received a rather nasty letter from them demanding an OBSCENE amount of money that I had NO way of paying, I called them. The woman I had the misfortune of being connected to began yelling at me. I calmly asked her to lower her voice. When she refused and began SCREAMING, I hung up on her. Not only did I hang up on her, but immediately had my phone number changed to an unlisted one, retained an attorney and filed for bankruptcy.
As a result of her temper tantrum, this collector lost not only her commission, but her employer the balance of this credit card debt...when it was discharged in Chapter 7.
The moral of this story was: Be nice, work with me and you WILL get your money. SCREAM at me and SHOUT insults, and you will wind up geting NOTHING.- Caller: Cross Country Bank

- Stephen replies to arthur buckleyThis company has called us many times and each time we tell them they have the wrong person. They refuse to remove our number and will not stop calling. The person they say they are looking forward is no one that I have ever heard of. They are very, very rude and act like we have done something wrong even though we are not even the people they are looking for.

- IrritatedReceived a voice mail from this number 800-504-2429. I am very baffled and I strongly believe they're a scam using some sort of number forwarding to disguise who they really are. The reasons I know this...
1. I've have NEVER in my entire life not settled a debt! My credit is absolutely blemish free.
2. I have lived at this same address for 3 yrs. and not one letter from the company they say they are (Capitol Management) has ever contacted me via letter or VM on my actual (personal) phone number that I've had for... oh about 10 yrs.
3. The number they called is my land line and it IS listed under my name. No creditor would ever have this number because I just received it about 1yr ago. Unless creditors started googling for people that owe them money? --I doubt it.
4. The women on the voice mail says my name, then she proceeded to play an automated message that asks for someone else???? Umm.... WHY?
All these reason point to FRAUD! Every one please beware and smarter before you ever give your personal information over the phone. ALWAYS look up who they are, and the company they represent. If you don't remember anything regarding it. Have them send you letter with a company letter head so that you may contact the ACTUAL company. NO scam artist would go through this much trouble...right? Be careful!- Caller: Capitol Management

- Eric JohnsonIn the past three days I have had 4 additional calls asking for different people on my same cell phone. Word to whoever is doing this: if you're committing a fraud try to get the name of the person you are trying to scam instead of going through the damn phone book.
