Called and didn't leave a message

Scam say they are Verizon and asking you to take a survey.  They are trying to get you to verify the last four digits of social.  Once they do they call Verizon and make changes to your account by adding lines or making international calls on your account.  Call Verizon and get to the fraud dept. and change your password and put an alert on your account!

I just got the same call from 800-505-0055 saying they were Verizon calling to do a survey. I got suspicious when they started asking for account verification info so I hung up & googled number. I found this post. Meanwhile, they called back but didn't leave a message.

Called & did not leave a message. From what I've read about this number it's a total scam. Fixing to block this number!! BAM

Wanting zip code and ss#

Got the same call, claiming to be a Verizon survey, offering a $20 credit. After the 3-questino survey, they asked for confirmation based on my zip code and last four digits of Social Security Number. When they asked for that, I hung up.

Got a call from this number this afternoon. The person with a heavy accent told me he was doing a customer satisfaction survey for my Verizon account. He wanted to know if I was the person in charge of the account and if I would give him the answer to one of the security questions on the account. He also told me that if I answered the three-question survey, I would receive a $20 credit on my next bill. I told him I would not give him the security answer and he ended the call.

The caller claimed to be from Verizon and was conducting a survey for a $200 credit on my bill. I refused to give my billing zip code and was called some very offensive words.  This was obviously not Verizon.

I just received a call from this number offering $20 towards next month's bill. They wanted zip code and last 4 ss. I hung up.

Caller had a heavy accent.  Identified as Verizon but hung up as soon as I asked what his sales pitch was. Based on other posts it is a scam call.

Same thing.  I wouldn't give zip and the hung up.  Verizon support says it is a phishing scam.

Caller sounded like he had a heavy Hispanic accent...  asked for zip code and last 4 digits of SS... And offered the $20 off next bill to take the survey.

My mother received the call today from this same number.  I reported it to Verizon.  They blocked that number for us.  They said it was phishing.  That was their fraud unit.  They are not doing anything to get this stopped!  Why not?  Can't Verizon get the police to shut them down or am I being naive?

Someone called my daughter from this # claiming to be from Verizon. I've told her to call me if they call her about account stuff so she did. When I tried to call back I got a weird message saying please state the name of the company you're calling for and the 10 digit #. When I did that it said thanks and hung up on me. Glad my daughter didn't give any info since it's a scam!

How can the police shut them down if they don't know where the calls are coming from?  More than likely a foreigner in a foreign country.

Thanks everyone for the info. I got a call--I never answer unfamiliar numbers--then Googled the number. Went straight to my Verizon account and blocked it.

I just got a call from this number stating that he was doing a survey for Verizon Wireless, and I would get a $20.00 credit on my next bill for completing the survey.  I was very suspicious.  In the end he asked for the last 4 numbers of my SS#, and I refused and he hung up on me.  I reported it to Verizon Wireless immediately, and the call did not come from them.  They have the number flagged.
