i got this same phone call 2 days ago. i did not do as he asked and asked for a number to call him back on, this was the number

I got this same phone call this morning and I have a iMac that doesn't use Microsoft.

I was given this # when I questioned the man with the heavy accent who claimed to be calling from "Microtech" because he'd been notified that my computer has a virus and he was going to help prevent it from crashing.  IT IS A SCAM!!!  See:

If you did what he wanted and went to your computer and followed his directions now you really have problems!

said he was from Microsoft and that my computer was getting hacked into. I asked for a callback number and this is what he gave me.

Just got the call.  Gentleman with a strong accent.  Calls himself Sir Henry Gsouza.  Said he was with the Windows Dept from Microtech.  Did not catch the Street # but said he is on 13th Avenue in Portland

Said he needed to refund me $299 due to a software glitch when i purchased my computer.  He insisted that he needed my License Computer# which i could get when i open the computer command prompt.  

He mentioned a virus protection software brand as the problem.  When i told him i do not use that one, i instantly made one up and he did not skip a beat and continued to press me for information as if what i told him also had the problem.  SCAMMER
