I am not William and I don't have anything to do with CBT. Maybe she misdialed.
- Caller: California Bank & Trust
- David replies to AricSeems legit. They called me about getting my PIN wrong on an ATM three times, they knew exactly the transaction I'd been trying to make, but they did ask for a lot of personal information before they would move forward (and unblock the card / send out a new PIN).
Caller identified themselves as from "California Bank" then corrected themselves immediately to "Zions Bank"; looks like this is a visa debit call centre who handle multiple banks. - JRAmegy Bank, California Bank & Trust, and Zions Bank are all owned by the same holding company. See www.zionsbancorporation,com. The company owns banks in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas. I have been a Zions Bank customer for decades, but got a similar call from this number, which I did not recognize. The person I talked to said she is in Texas, working for Amegy Bank. I asked to be routed around their call center / fraud department systems until I talked to enough other people with apparently legitimate information that I was satisfied.
- DWI had a voice msg. from this number. They identified themselves as calling from National Bank. Stated there was questionable debit card transaction. I just called them back. They asked for a lot of info ... it took me a while before I realized something didn't feel right. They questioned one transaction which was valid. he second transaction for $3.76 was not valid. They said there were going to issue me a new card.... Feeling uncomfortable with all the info I had just given, I told lady I did not want to cancel my card. She told me I had to. I asked to talk to a supervisor. When he came on the line, he told me they had already put a "block" on my card. I told him not to. That I would deal with this at my local branch. He said he couldn't take the block off because of the fraudulent charge. I told him until just a moment ago they didn't even know it was a fraudelent charge. I'll be at the bank on my lunch hour....
- RachelReceived a call from them, they said they were calling with Zions Bank (my bank). They called to verify a $10 transaction, which I found *very* weird, I made many large purchases over the weekend, so why would they care about that one? I hung up, mostly because she had an accent, and I know ZIon's number that they usually call me from. Could have been legit, but seemed odd.
- StephenReceived a voice mail from 800-509-0806. The message was vague at best. The caller did not leave a name just Zions Bank. I work for Zions Bank and I don't believe this type of message would be made with out a lot more information given by the caller. I'm checking it out but I would not trust it, personally.
- Caller: Zions Bank
- WayneThis is legit number from Nevada State Bank. You can call them back at their customer service number on the back of your Visa or Debit card, if you have these cards.
- Caller: Nevada State Bank Fraud Investigation
- Bank CustomerWe received a call from this number about a fishy debit card transaction which turned out to be fraudulent. They asked lots for lots of information and may have been confused about who was on the account - they refused to talk to one of the account holders. We finally called the bank directly using the number on the card instead of this number and got much better service. The people at the bank said that since they had a record of some earlier calls to us they think that this is a legitimate number.
- Caller: Zion's Bank
- Bank customerOK Number. It is the company for bankcard fraud prevention for Zion's bank. I called it. Spoke with bankcard service, then, I called the bank and my call was tranferred to the same woman. Good to go!
- Caller: Bankcard Services (Fraud)
- Bank CustomerI believe this is fraudulent. This is the message that I got:
Hi, This message is for <name of person which is not me>. This is Stacy calling from Nevada State Bank calling to verify some recent activity. If you could please give us a call back here at 1(800) 509-0806. You can call that number or the number on the back of your card. Thank you and have a great day.- Caller: Nevada State Bank (Fraud)
- Vegas mommyFraud protection. They call to let you know if there are any unusual transactions
- Caller: Nevada State Bank
- YeniThis is a company that works on behalf of several banks I believe. They called us to ask about a few suspicious transactions, such as small purchases out of state or purchases out of country, things that are not of our regular spending habits. I was very glad they called as even though we informed our bank about our travels they still kept an eye out on strange activities. They called us the second day we left about a few transactions on my husband's card and helped us cancel the credit card portion of his card so just the debit worked. This way we can use the card until we returned from our trip. They didn't ask us for a lot of information, only confirmation of name and last 4 digits of the card. They have called us and helped us a few times over the last year and always got our new cards sent out quickly.
