NCO Financial calling us asking for someone with a similar sounding name. Told them many times to stop wasting my and their time.
yeah, i've been getting calls from this number for about a month now, they're "here to collect a debt." i owe NOBODY ANYTHING. period dot end. And how official is a PHONE CALL to collect a debt anyways? I wouldnt give money to the PRESIDENT over the phone. IF the FCC or BBB have been contacted it will take months for anything to happen.
im almost finished writing an automated text-sending prog. that will send this number ALOT of messages in hopes of getting my number off their list. :)
I keep getting calls from these people asking me about another person who used my name as a reference for a loan. This company did not contact me prior to giving him a loan. I've told them repeatly not to call me. Should I report them to the FCC?
These people call my house claiming to have my 12 year old MINOR daughter in collections for a bill. Told them to STOP CALLING she is a minor knock it off
This happened to me when I was 16. A collection agency kept calling my house and telling my step-mom that I had a seriously overdue amount on my Fashion Bug credit card. I had no credit of any kind at the time. We actually had to go through quite a mess to get it fixed. This company actually put it on a credit record!! If you come back and read this-You may want to see if a credit report has been established in your daugter's name.
I happened to be at my computer when the call came in. I quickly googled the number just to see what came up and got nervous when I saw the post from "unknown" on Aug 8th 2007. I have a 12 year old son who is outside playing with friends so when I saw the first few words of her post I immediately picked up the phone. By this time my answering maching was recording the message and it was a collection agency looking for someone who didn't even live at my address..let alone have my number in the past. Scary.
i got a call from them...on a bill that was on Verizon...I kept going to the Verizon site to pay it last month and the site said bill pay is currently down...so verizon referred it out to an agency...pretty fishy since I just changed to VOIP. Unfortunately they are legit...
automated call to my cell phone every other day at about 8:10 AM leaves automated voicemail if I don't answer regarding "collection of a debt" for a family member who never lived in my state, never had my phone number and who is DECEASED for years
internet search for NCO Financial shows many many complaints and fines against them
Beginning on 10/29/2007, I have received 7 calls from that phone number. Calls have been as early as 8:13 A.M. and as late as 7:57 P.M. There is never a real person calling but, upon answering, a recorder will kick in and a female voice says "We need to speak with Jason Berry... Please call back at 1-800-511-8670 and use REFERENCE ID NUMBER ######". I do not know Jason Berry and my telephone number is entered into all "DO NOT CALL" files. I have noified the FTC about these unnerving calls and am awaiting a response.
Sounds like a SCAM to me, and with a lovely British accent. [I would never give my financial information over the telephone, so even is they are legit, their still "$h*% out of luck."]
