Another scam IRS call from a "Mr. Jackson" with a very foreign accent (middle eastern/ east asian). Sounds like he was in a basement call center. I know the authorities are on to this, but I wish they'd shut it down already. I've been receiving these calls from the New York area (bronx, rochester) for the past few months. Now they've "smartened-up" and are using an 800# Please do not call them back, give out your SSN, or give them money.

Did a quick google check and found that this number can also be traced to the Uttar Pradesh region in Northern India--

Threatening IRS action, arrest.  definite scam.

Received a call from this guy and he left this message:

"Hi this message is  for RS. Hi RS this is Jean Anderson. I'm calling you from tax audit department of IRS,  The Internal Revenue Service. The nature of my voicemail is just to inform you that we have received a legal petition notice concerning a tax fraud against your name. So before this matter goes to federal claim court house or before you get arrested . Kindly call us back on our call back number as soon as possible. The number you can reach me. It's one eight hundred eight 5180963. I repeat it's 18005180963. Thank you and have a good day."

same deal. Indian accent. IRS scam. threaten arrest, usual blah, blah, blah

I have been getting the same call and ignoring it. How can we report them?

Same deal. Second call of the day, first from a different number. Voice Mail. Just to check I followed voice mail to be transferred to an actual person and got disconnected. What annoyance.

Given this number as a callback from another number, 347-559-0378.  Most definitely a scam trying to extort money under threat of court action and deportation.  All hogwash, of course.  Pretty obvious this is a call center overseas where they are running the scam.

Another call from this fraud, with strong India accent calling from a call center, calls himself Raymond Hoffman

I gotta call from a guy, with an indian accent claiming they are irs and there is a law suit against my mom, he said his name was James Henry , what a lier , such a bad actor .

Got a call from this number pretending to be irs and saying its a legal matter.

First time, the caller said his name was Alex Marshall and said I owed tax and if I don't pay I was going to get arrested. Then the clown wanted to know my address, I told him if he was from IRS he should have my address. He threatened to send the police to my house in 30 mins. I said fine and hung up. This evening I get another call ,same clown with a different name...James Anderson. I recognized his voice and accent but played along. Wanted my husband this time and said he was from the tax department. I said " ah yes from the IRS? " and when he said yes I told him to get lost. This fool has been calling up so many of my friends. I wish the legal system puts this idiot behind bars. First time it was a 347 number but this time it was the 800 number.

My parents keep getting the same call ! annoying. The IRS would send a letter first !! Don't give them any information !!

Got 2 phone calls from this 800 number.  Don't bother calling back.  The IRS does not call you at home or office.  If this was
legitimate, they would have sent you correspondence in the mail.  My husband has been dead for 16 years and I get this call and it is quite disturbing.  First I thought someone was using his social security number but after googling this 800 number I now find out it is a scam.  Call and report this to the federal communications and lets see if we can get this [***] caught.

This is the same phone calling: 1.800.518.0963. Alleged name is "victor shafer, irs audit" today. What B.S. Can nobody stop these people???
Today alone, 3 different b.s. calls 1. from an alleged officer (different phone#), the "irs" dude above and another "irs" person.

How to stop it?!?!?!

GOT SEVERAL CALLS FROM 973-341-5604 CLAIMING I OWE OVER $3000.00 TO THE IRS . CAN BARELY UNDERSTAND HIM WITH THICK INDIAN ACCENT.WAS GIVEN NAME VICTOR SLOAN AND ALSO VICTOR SHAFER. WHILE TYPING I JUST GOT CALL FROM DIFFERENT NUMBER, SAME PERSON, 416-364-1111.I ANSWERED AND BEFORE HE COULD FINISH I TOLD HIM HE WAS BEING RECORDED AND WAS BEING CONNECTED WITH PLANO POLICE DEPT NOW ,I MADE IT UP, BUT HE HUNG UP AND WONT ANSWER MY CALLS NOW. SCAM
