- Annoyed| 3 repliesThey called me to. Left a message. So I called back the number and it is a collection agency who has no right to call me. I think the name is Viking Recovery Service or Viking Collection Service.
- BB2550 replies to AnnoyedThe Called me as well 2 hours ago. Andrew Covelt at 1-800-521-9660 x 137. They didn't pick up and I got his voicemail. Left a message and haven't heard back yet. They also have no right to call me either.
- Irritated| 4 repliesCalled and left a message claiming not to be a solicitation, but the woman "has a file that concerns me". Didn't mention my name, her name, or the name of the company (she muttered something unintelligable at the beginning of the call). I'll not be calling them back.
- kbecker| 2 repliesA Mr. Cook at ext. 122 from this number called me at work and claimed someone was using my social security number for illegal internet activity and I needed to call them back immediately. He gave me a case# to refer to. Anyone else had this problem?
- Caller: Viking
- Jayne replies to Irritated| 3 repliesThe called me at work & at home left a message they have my name, social security number, license number and told me I better call them back or they would give all that information to their client and they wanted to get my side...blah..blah.. I have no idea who they are or what they want. Mrs. Baldwin was her name.
- Lucy G| 7 repliesThey called me on Saturday at 8am, the guy calling mumbeled his name and ask me to call him back IMIDIATELY. He had a file on me and my social security. He needed me to call him imidetely, which he said like 10 times. leaving this number and extension 126. He actually yawned at the end of the message. I am not calling back.

- aimeegot 2 calls from this number. reps name was mike strong @ ext #136, said he was with viking recovery, and that he needed to speak with me immediately- claimed that my social security # and internet address were being used for suspicious activity. i dont understand how these companies can call you and knowingly lie to you, and get you into a panic thinking that someone has stolen your identity.

- Debbie replies to Annoyed| 1 replyViking is a Collection agency for Capital One. This is one of their many agencies. From all the information I have read so far, it appears that if you do not get an attorney, you better not pay one dime unless you get a Settlement Letter first. Understand they will ask for your ABA and Checking Account #. Folks: make sure you open an account with $10 in it and do not put that money in their for them until you get the letter. Ford's Collection Agency faxed me an immediate settlement letter and then took the money out. You have to write letters to Capital One, not Viking to settle. Do everything you can by going to Capital One and ignore Viking. Write a registered letter telling them they can no longer call you and then change your personal phone numbers. You can do nothing about letters. www.hoovers.com lists the President and CEO of Capital One. Write him a nice letter even though you want to curse them out and throw them a figure. Cap One is hurting. Do what you can do. NEVER EVER GIVE THEM A DEBIT, CREDIT CARD OR CHECKING ACCT # YOU USE EVERY DAY.
- Ally replies to Jayne| 1 replySame lady called me as well on the 23rd. She said she was from GR Services. If anyone has had luck in contacting these people please respond. I have never done business with Capital One so there would be no reason in the contact. They called me on my direct line at work at that. Isn't it against the law to call at the work place?
- Gina Bella replies to Lucy G| 6 repliesyour a idiot. People dont understand that this is a debt. Everyone needs to call companies like this back and find out what is going on, There is alot of fraud in this country and some of them actually about 50 percent is fraud. Eventually this will hurt you. you need to at least call and find out why they are calling you. even if you dont plan or are to big of a scumbag to pay it back
- 4q2 replies to Gina BellaEnglish, mother***ker, do you speak it?
"Your a idiot" - you're an idiot (you certainly are!)
"alot" - a lot (two words)
"to big" - too big (know the difference between to and too) - Gina Bella replies to Gina BellaI'm just a ditzy WOP princess who just discovered Internet access on her boyfriend's iPod Touch. I need a ride to the nearest BCBG MaxAzria Outlet.
- Dmk replies to kbeckernot a Mr. Cook but the same issue somehow they even got my unlisted/unpublished home phone number.......say I owe like 952.00 for some internet loan!
- Pepper replies to Gina Bella| 1 replyI'm with you 4q2. Ditzy folks stay off this site or at least keep your mouths SHUT and your thoughts to yourself. What are you doing on this site anyway?? Probably works for that company. Anyone who would start out a sentence with "you're an idiot" (to someone they don't know and for no good reason) is not only an IDIOT, but rude and nasty as well. Please keep your smart-assed (or rather DUMB-assed) remarks to yourself. Most of us are coming to this site to share invaluable info with one another. Go to IWIN, Popcap, Real.com or one of those other sites if you want to play games. This site is for ADULTS. THank you very much!
- BIRDIEThese peeps are calling me at work...why work and not my cell or home is beyond me. How they even got my work number is another beyond me moment. I figure it like this, you called me, you tell me WHO YOU ARE and WHAT YOU WANT and then I am more likely to respond than to a message that says hey I have your file, its a personal matter, I will leave it on my desk before sending it threw to give you an opportunity to call me back? Seriously if you have the gall to call me at work then you should have the gall to tell what this is about.

- cocoI received a call from this company. They told me that they have verified employment, when they call my direct number at work....Haven't called back
- jennjenn| 3 repliesLying [***] called me also. Isnt it illegal for them to lie and say that there is illegal internet activity going on when they are in actuality debt collectors?
This has to be illegal. - Radio replies to PepperThanks everyone for your help on this post.
- Lizzaque| 4 repliesSo, is this a fake company. I just got the same call on my work number. They did not say my name, but said they had information in front of them and I needed to call immediately... But they did include a case number..
- leslie_socalgot a call on my cell, before the message even went through they're calling my work number. telling me this is regarding a transaction with check-n-go from nearly 2yrs ago. when i told him that this didn't sound like a transaction i ever made and i'm not making any arrangements until i can verify the information he had given me, he got VERY excitable. to quiet him down, i finally agreed to call him back by friday with arrangements to pay or proof that this is fraud. i'm putting a call into check-n-go to prove that i never made this transaction. i don't need harrassing phone calls at work.
