- pitlitter| 7 replieshow come the only people who claim to be getting harrassed are the ones who pay none of their creditors?? was it harrassment when you borrowed the money?? they need to bring debtors jail back and maybe people would stop STEALING from the banks and causing intrest rates to go up and up. do the math MORONS, the less you pay now the more WE ALL PAY in intrest in the future. if you can pay DONT BORROW. and by the way if you dirtbags took as much time and effort paying your bills, as you do making excuses or looking for a way to get out of paying by playing your debtor games, maybe, just maybe you wouldnt receive the calls...stop making ezxcuses and PAY YOUR BILLS

- W. Hail replies to pitlitterI am guessing that the last 2 notes are from employees of this company...There is no doubt in my mind.
I find it very "funny" that the call I got was also rude and called me a MORON and hung up on me because I would not accept his offer of ".10 on the dollar" for a mobile home that we allowed to go back, when we went into mission work (you know for GOD), and the bank sold the mobile home, and the balance was a little over $500, which we are making payments on, and the guy tells me that he can offer me a balance of $4,900. hmmmmmmmm, ya OOOOOK!!!
Who is the moron here....NOT ME!!! - W. Hail| 7 repliesCalled my daughter at home, asked alot of questions about my employer from 7 years ago, was rude and told her to have me call him asap. I called from work, the guy tells me that he is going to offer me .10 on the dollar ($4900) on a debt that was wrote off a couple of years ago (he did not tell me this, I am just aware of what is on my credit report- and this debt is no longer there). I thanked him for the offer, but declined. He asked me why I thanked him, I told him for the offer, he called me a moron and hung up on me.

- DAVID P replies to W. Hail| 6 replieshere's the bottom line, PAY YOUR BILLS!! if you cant pay, DONT BORROW!! and by the way charged-off DOES NOT MEAN YOU DONT OWE THE MONEY, it means the bank no longer carries the loan as an active account, but you still owe. And no retail installment contract has any clause saying that if go off to to be a missionary and leave your life and responsibilities here at home, that any part of the debt will be forgiven or excused. Stop blaming the banks for you not reading what you sign, or because some salesperson lied to you. People in this country want to blame everyone but themselves for their problems. Take a look in the mirror. You are the only person who can say yes or no to getting yourself into debt. Not the bank, not the collectors hired by the bank to remind you to pay back your obligations, only you. SO STOP CRYING ABOUT HOW MEAN COLLECTORS ARE. Another sorry excuse you need to stop using is that creditors ruin credit. YOU RUIN YOUR OWN CREDIT by borroing and not paying back. Cars get repoed becuase YOU dont make the payments, not because the bank doesnt like you. GROW UP and deal with your issues. And dont belittle the collection industry because without people who borrow and dont pay back, LIKE YOU, there would be no need for us to call and demand money.
- George replies to DAVID P"salesperson lied to me". Talk about the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Thats the oldest excuse in the book.
"belittle the collection agency". Thats the best one. Its like "incriminating the mafia". Thanks for the laugh. - from someone who does pay bills.. replies to DAVID P| 1 replyhere's a bottom line for you - heck, it's such a good deal, I'll throw in TWO:
a) not all people called by vicious collections agencies owe them money. people can be tricked (read: harassed) into giving financial information over to someone mean enough. collections agencies know this and train for this.
b) alot of the creditors who work through these collection agencies DELIBERATELY TARGET those who are the least able to pay, but who need the money the most - charging them exorbitant interest rates, something we call "usury" or, for simps like you: "predatory lending."
Payday loans work this way, as I'm sure you know: you need money now, we will give you some only if you pay it back with 400% interest. They know very well who they target - why else would they be located in the most economically depressed areas of any major city??
so don't dare lay the blame at those who find themselves in situations where they simply need money to get by and get sucked into a bad deal by flashy marketing and false promises.
no, I don't have any debt, no, I don't hear from creditors but I'm [***] sick of types like you who want to harass innocent people who would really rather not be in debt. - DAVID P replies to from someone who does pay bills..QUIT WITH THE WHINING!!! To respond to the person about the left hand knowing the right hand: i have been doing this for over 12 years, so of course i have heard evry excuse in the world from debtors about how they were lied to by someone about what they were signing, when it clearly states right above where you sign, "I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT" so spare me. To respond the person about abusive lending practices, I agree with you 100% payday loan places take advantage of the less fortunate and least sophisticated people of society, but no one is forcing anyone to sign at gunpoint. You have the option to NOT BORROW. So again, spare me with the "woes me" line of thinking. READ WHAT YOU SIGN, plain and simple. As far as the bak using agencies to "TARGET those who are the least able to pay", if you belive that than you probably belive in Santa, the tooth fairy and the easter bunny. Banks dont "TARGET" those least able to pay. Think about it, why would they lend money to people who cant pay?? why do you think credit reports are for. To see what kind of PAYER you are, and if you dont pay then the bank probably wont lend to you, and if they do you get a BAD INTREST RATE. WHERE DO YOU PEOPLE GET YOUR INFORMATION FROM, A CRACKER JACK BOX?? If ignorance is bliss you must be on a permanent orgasm of stupidity.
- DAVID P| 3 repliesAnd another thing, NO COLLECTION AGENCY CAN DEMAND PAYMENT FORM SOMEONE THAT DOES NOT OWE, no agency can "trick" you into giving them financial info for the sake of collecting and imaginary debt. If this has happened to you, 1. you were scammed by someone who IS NOT a collection agency and 2. you are pretty dumb to get played like that. Collection Agencies are REGULATED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and State governments. If an agency is calling you its because YOU OWE and didnt read what you got yourself into. I ask again, where do you people get your information from?? Plain and simple DONT BORROW IF YOU CANT PAY. Say what you want about us in the collection industry, without you dummies who dont read what they you sign or who dont pay because "the bank wouldnt work with" you, we wouldnt have a job. Try paying your rent like you [***] pay your credit cards and money you borrow and see how long before your landlord evicts you. You people need to learn common sense and TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR SELF AND THE CHOICES YOU MAKE. And stop making up stories about verbal abuse. You people have no manners and no education and use the f-word in all you conversations, and then make up lies about what we say to you. you call us racist names BECAUSE YOU BORROWED MONEY, BECAUSE YOU DIDNT READ WHAT YOU WERE SIGNING, BECAUSE YOUR DEADBEAT RELATIVE SUCKERED YOU INTO SIGNING A CAR LOAN OR CREDIT CARD OR A HOME LOAN because they have bad credit and you for "credit purposes" please stop making yourselves sound ignorant and be grown ups and PAY YOUR BILLS.
- FreedomI'm only guessing this is a telemarketer. The person says their name is Kyle Houston. "Mr Houston" is very insistant he is calling the correct number. Even leaves messages to return his call. I returned the call and the name given when answered was Alternative. Alternative to what, I have no idea? I ask that my number be taken off their call list but they did not. Freaks me out. "Mr. Houston" asks to speak with a name that I cannot understand. I have told them that they have the wrong number again and again but he persists in calling. Call time is approximately 5:30 in the evening CT. I want the calls stopped so guess I'll change my number? Shouldn't have to do that. Any help appreciated.

- wrong numberI have been getting calls for two different inlaws, neither of which have ever lived with me. At least I assume they are for my inlaws, the names are really common so could be anyone. Point is, it is NOT me, and of course they don't believe that. I can block numbers, but why should I have to? It's not my debt!

- dontgothere| 2 repliesi am assuming this person is calling about a doctor bill that i was never billed for until 2 years later. the reason for never getting a bill was the result of a sourcing out of the billing that took place at that time. i told the collectors i would pay when i was sent an itemized bill and what insurance paid. surprise! that's not possible. give me the proof i owe it and i am happy to pay.

- Way too smart for you| 3 repliesIn mid March my husband received a letter saying Final Notice and said that he owed $27,000 a debt that was from his previous marriage. When I called I spoke to a guy named C. Stewert who said that the finance company would be willing to settle for $2,900, this was on the 19th of March. On friday the 20th my husband called to talk to the man who then told my husband that in order to settle the debt they would need for us to send the money that day, Yeah right. Who has that kind of money off hand?! We then spoke with our attorney who said that he would handle it. On the 25th we called C. Stewert back, and suddenly he was out of town for business and the man who answered was rude and hung up on us. This company is a scam and anyone who receives a phone call or letter from them should speak with an attorney before sending money or going further with any demands that they are making.
