This collection outfit has been calling with a recorded message that starts out something like, "This call is for (person's name). If you continue to listen, you acknowledge you are (person's name)." Then they leave this number and name of the debt collector to call.  The people they are looking for lived in our house some 11 years ago with a different telephone number, etc.  This has been happening for the last 3-4 months.  It's happened so many times, I'm tempted to call them back and tell them off.

Scumbag bottom feeders. They called me for months, looking for someone who doesn't live here. I finally had my number changed to an unlisted number, as they will not take "NO" for an answer. Well worth the $30 bucks.

They are calling me weekly to collect a debt my new husband had (and thinks he paid off) in 2001!!!  It's an old SOuthwestern Bell phone bill that the phone company doesn't even have any record of and said "Don't listen to them and certainly don't pay it".  Asset couldn't give me a breakdown of the charges, refused to answer my questions as to the basic info on the bill and just kept repeating they were a collection agency and would try to get the money from me.  When I explained to them that the debt was my husbands years before we were married they tried to intimidate me into paying RIGHT NOW and when I further said no they told me they'd ruin my credit.  I told them I was notifying the fraud unit here and hung up.  [***]!!!  AT & T (who absorbed Southwestern) said they are stepping up their calls because the time limit when you can expunge that kind of imformation is approaching and under NO circumstances should we pay a cent otherwise we make a new contract with them that IS binding.

I don't have a bill with them but yet they call over and over again. Totally annoying. I think its some sort of scam to collect money. There is no bill but they keep trying to get $. Reported to the AG in my state.

I got at least three calls from this place with the usual intro described by others. I finally called them (should I have???)and told them the person is unknown here. They promised to take my number off the list. We will see. Seriously I am suspecting a scam, maybe for identity theft as per Scambusters.com

These [***] kept calling, I finally got sick of it and called them back. First off they couldnt verify my identity, they only had my name. They made up some account number that I have never had(I have all of my account numbers on file). [***] losers.

As everyone else has reported, I've gotten repeated automated phone calls for someone who isn't at my number (it's a business).  I finally called the 800 number and told them I would call them back 100 times a day, for which they would get charged (that's how toll free works), until they stopped calling.  They said they would "make a note", whatever that means.  Calling them back repeatedly works, it is a tactic reported on a local news channel.  Make them pay by calling their 800 number.

    TOTALLY FRUSTRATED
800-525-8022 is the number I got from the agent. Totally the wrong number but they won't take no for an answer. They continue to call morning day and night. So guess what. They will be reported to the FCC and the Do Not Call Government listing.
They ask for a "Selene Kong" and continue ever since I got this number. At this time I refuse to change my number. Number shows up on caller ID is 434-878-9956. The agent "Maria" even became a smart a-- when I continue to ask for the company name.

I am presently trying the 'calling them back several times' a day approach, as recommended a couple of messages earlier by "Notme", after multiple requests over ~12 months for them to remove my number from their records as the person they are looking for is not me... and I don't know him (yes they asked!). Next call received will result in my calling the AG's office to lodge an harassment complaint.

They have been calling my home for a month...automated message tells me they are going to wait and I should collect a pad and pen to take down their number...they say they are KC Banks ???? and gave the same 800# above.  I finally googled them and found these posts.  I never ans my home phone anyway so they could keep calling and wasting their own time...I figure they will stop eventually, won't they?  I am a Credit Director, I know we have nothing on our bureaus they are calling about, so I won't let it get to me now that I know what they are.

I have been getting 2-4 calls from them every week for several months now.  Each time the message is for a different name - although the first name is always similar.  None of the names are mine!  How do I get them to stop calling?
