YOU HAVE TO CALL AMEX DIRECTLY AND TELL THEM YOU CHOOSE TO OPT OUT OF TELEMARKETING CALLS.

The telemarketers WILL NOT REMOVE YOU - because you have not TOLD AMEX directly that you do not wish to receive telemarketing calls

My number is unlisted.  Yet they called and the caller ID voice said "Legal Services."   That was the same identity of an earlier 800- call today with 7 different digits after it, which also said "Legal services" on the digital audio voice.  How can this shady outfit use AmEx's 800 number?  I'd be furious if I was AmEx.  The caller must have some equipment that displays the AmEx number of 800-528-4800, but which is actually a different 800-number for some "legal services."   I'm having my utility company investigate both numbers.

Just got a weird letter from AMEX saying I was added as an account manager for some person I have never heard of it. The letter said to call this number, provide the account number for this random Bradley A Lewis and set up my pin.

    Strange stuff.

We got a call; a foreign person with a very heavy accent spoke.  Wanted the person responsible for the utility bills,  No connection to AMEX was mentioned.  She said the name of the company, but I didn't understand; nor did I ask her to repeat it.

They called wanting someone with my name and offering Insurance while traveling for their card members. Told the person that I did not have an American Express card. He apologized and said he must have called the wrong number.

This call comes several times a day. I am on the "do not call' which does not seem to help. I know I do not owe them money and I am not interested in anything else they have.

Had this number with "American Exp" caller ID call over the past month at least 8 times.  Called them back Mar 16th, a sketchy guy says "whats your card number".  I told them I would not give this out, he then said "what is your full social security number"?  I refused again told him I was going to call the AmEx number on the back of my card.  He said " Its regarding fraud".  I hung up and called the real American Express who said they do no have any departments or facilities using that number (800-528-4800)  The American Express rep said they would investigate the fraudulent number.

This number called today (calls all the times, several times a week, at least a couple times a day), I decided to answer just to see what would happen.  They asked for my son, mispronouncing his name (a common name the world around), and that it was about his American Express, and I just said, wrong number and hung up.  If they call again I will engage them more to see what they are really after.

Honestly, if they are the "real" American Express, wouldn't the caller ID say so, rather than "TOLL FREE CALL"??  It's almost like they haven't heard of caller ID.  We, too, refuse to answer toll free calls from 800 or 866, unless (rarely) identified as some retailer or something we were expecting a call from.  Even then, it pays to keep your guard up these days.

Now if I could get my MD's assistants to call me on the office/clinic phone, rather than their personal phones, I'd know it was ABOUT MY HEALTH and not ignore!
