The number is for the fraud department.  If you filed a claim, they are calling you back.

Called this number after I received a scam email from a fake Wells Fargo. Ask I asked the lady who answered questions about the services she provides for Wells Fargo, she became increasingly more agitated with me and eventually hung up on me. Very, very rude and unprofessional.

Fraudulent number...i'm not sure how they have connected themselves with the wells fargo # but my bank(not wells fargo) who I called after recieving this number called the number while i was on hold. They came back and said it was a fraud and were reporting it to my banks fraud dept. People on here who say it is legit are probably part of the scheme. Beware!

This is the number for Wells Fargo fraud department. I had called them originally about a suspicious debit card transaction. If you are worried about calling them back at this number, call the customer service number listed online for them and they will transfer you. I would call them back even if you didn't call them first. The fraud department is there for your protection.

This number isn't listed on the site at all.  Even the sites that people have posted on here.  They either changed the number (unlikely)...or OH YEAH! this is a scam email.  Just report it to the wells fargo people if you're afraid of being scammed or if it's phishing for your information.  also, be smart, don't reply and don't click on the link if there was on in an email sent to you.  Seems like it would be stupid

Just got a call - was a dispute claim representative. Be wary, though - this number can be SPOOFED just like any other number... which means the person on the other end of the line may not be from wellsfargo. Just make sure they're asking the right questions. Anything beyond your home address, the last four of your social, last four of your card, is too much. Full SSN, full CC#, maiden name, etc., are all red flags.  Just call 1-800-to-wells if you feel uncomfortable. A real wellsfargo rep will understand.

I don't even own a Wells Fargo card or any account fot that matter... How they got my recently changed number is still a mystery to me. So, my guess is, frauds. But I do not know for sure since I just rejected their call.

I just had the same question as everyone on this page and I called Wells Fargo regular line and They confirmed that its Wells Fargo Fraud Dept. Please peoples when you post things that you dont know are true it makes it very hard to know if somethings really a scam or not cuz you write that things are a scam when you dont know if they really are.  Then when something is really a scam who knows what to believe whateva peace

This is a fraudulent phone number. I encountered this number after receiving a suspicious e-mail claiming to be from "Scotiabank" regarding my credit cards. This number is not at all associated with any contact numbers for Scotiabank. People on here are claiming it's "on the Wells Fargo website"; they are obviously part of the scam, because if you go to the Wells Fargo website this phone number is listed NO WHERE.
If you receive anything regarding this phone number, please report it directly to the banks. Most of the banks have forwarding e-mail addresses if this is within an e-mail, or contact them directly FROM THEIR WEBSITE to inform them.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about....this is a legitimate # for Wells Fargo disputes.
