mdj - 24 Apr 2008I have an unauthorized charge on my checking account statement with this phone number: 800-551-7109. All it says is World Trade. I don't know what this is. The charge is for $9.65. I am very upset.

S.R. - 30 Apr 2008Same thing happened to me except for the amount was for $9.75 from 'World Trade'. And when I tried to call this '800-551-7109' number that was left on my statement, it is just an automated message that has no company name. I have reported this to my credit card company and they told me the company appears to be in Costa Mesa, CA. The Credit Card Company has been unable to obtain any other info from this transaction. :(

TE - 19 Jun 2008I got the same # and charged $ 9.65. I, also called and left messages and searched for more info on them. Got nothing. I'm pretty ticked off, that I have to go through many hoops with the credit card company in order to try to stop them from further charges and hope the credit co. catches it before the next one, There should be an easier way.

R. - 31 Aug 2008I've also been hit. They hit my checking account using my debit card number, that I also rarely use and have not used since July 2008. This account is primarily used for routine purchases. So what is up when I tried to report it as a fraud to my bank they felt that I must have given the number out. I have never had any dealings with this company and as like the rest of you the bank and I have been unable to get a response from this company. I know nothing of them. Should we report them to the BBB or what is my question. Where do we go from here? The number now says that is no longer in service. My transaction apparently took place around the 20th of August and was taken out of my account on the 22d. My heart goes out to the rest of you. At least my bank has returned my money thankfully thus far it has not been alot of money, but have they stolen our identities as well is the questions, because my debit card has my picture on it and at the time of the apparent use mine was in my possession 250 miles away. So how does that happen the bank claims that the purchase was done on site, but what is the address I can't find that.

disturbed - 9 Jul 2008i also got a charge on my visa bank card from world trade for 9.70. what a hassle. i am researching them and will find out who they are. maybe if all of our charges add up to enough they can be prosecuted. i also called the number and no business name is listed.

wilma - 18 Jul 2008I got a few of those calls. I called the number back. They were looking for someone who used to have my current phone number. I told them I had this number for only two years and that the person they were trying to reach no longer had that telephone number. It was a collection agency trying to collect a past due debt by someone that used to have my telephone number. They verified the telephone number and have NOT called since.

No caller ID on the home phone but my experience matches everyone else's.. a woman asks for the woman of the house, I say there isn't one, and hang up. One time I started to ask, "Who.." and she said, "Thanks," then hung up.

She told me that she can't talk to because the law wont let her. I told her my husband will not call back someone who wont say what they want. My question isn't it illegal to call someone else looking for my number
