The number belongs to DTE Energy in MIchigan. DTE Energy is calling to sign you up for Appliance Protection Plan.

every day this number calls - 1 day alone they called six times 1 per hour no msg began with a high pitched whistle then a series of beeps.  they left no msg just this noise every hour for 6 hours-my pet was tortured by this.  signed up for national do not call (again) and still they call.  not ot mention that they call every day still "jason" then "mark" then "ben" then "alicia"....stop calling this number-please put me on the do not call list..(yes maa'm they say) B.S. is what i say
for heaven sake they kill a forest to include the applicance protection plan information 4 pcs minimum-in addition to the regular bill.  what a bunch of crap !!!!!!!

I've gotten calls every single day this week.  We've NEVER answer when the caller ID says TOLL FREE CALL.  
I'm tired of this. Doesn't the Do Not Call List stop this harassment?

The "Do not call list" does not apply to companies that you do business with. If you are a DTE customer it is not illegal for them to call you like this. From the government's website:

I've already gotten 2 calls, to my UNLISTED CELL PHONE number!
I'm not even a current customer.

The best way, I've found to deal with unwanted calls is to have a secondary *cell* phone number that you use for *all* personal business.  Electric company ... credit cards ... banks ... stores etc.

I've used exactly this strategy and it has worked wonderfully.
When any legitimate company that I gave the number to calls ... I save the number in that cell phone by name ... that way, when they call I see *who* it is on the display.  Other callers barely warrant my attention.
I check messages from unknown numbers not more than once a week.

I use a T-Mobile pre-paid cell phone.  Once you've used $100 in the account, then all minutes last (don't expire) for a year.  
I've had the number for 5 years and that cell phone now costs me about $50 a year total.

Repeated call, appliance enrollment, called to be removed, spoke to Courtney, gave them numbers to remove.

I get a call from this number at least once a day every day except Sunday (at least they respect that).  I've already complained to DTE but so far nothing.  I've even threatened a lawsuit if it continues and still nothing.  Anyone here think we've got a case?  If so I want in and lets put an end to this crap for everyone.

Same problem as most of you...repeated calls.  Asked them to put me on their 'Do Not Call' list, plus I am already on the gov DNC list.

Update - I reported this number to the www.donotcall.gov website as a complaint.

Just someone laughing on my answering machine!

I get 2 to 3 calls a day on my unlisted cell also , how frustrating!

I get 2 to 3 calls a day , dte calling but they never leave a message (they call on my cell)

These people call me once every day or two on my cell phone.  It's extremely annoying.  When I answer the phone call, nobody ever talks to me.  They just waste my minutes ... if I answer the phone.  On a Sat, right after receiving such a nuisance call, I called the number and asked for them to stop calling me.  The representative said I needed to call M-F 8-6 when that dep was open.  I asked her if they would stop calling me if I talked to them.  She said she didn't know and couldn't guarantee that.  (Hint: This means that they would not stop calling me.)

have been getting these calls for a few weeks. I went to their website and noticed under the section where I list my contact information, there was a checkbox stating I wanted to receive occasional calls about new products! I NEVER leave checkboxes checked...so something is fishy. Unchecked it and saved my profile, but I still get the calls. One of these days I will answer and see if mentioning this fixes it. DTE is the ONLY company to continually harass my #.

This company or person calls our number several times of the day. Leaving no message on our answering machine. Very annoying! You can just tell is an telemarketing call...just what I want all day long.

I'm getting the same number of calls from 800-556-0011 - this is Feb 2008.

I'm having the same trouble.  Multiple calls to my cell phone with never any messages. My account has never been past due, and I do not want an appliance warranty protection plan thing.  How can I make these calls stop?
