Received a call from 800-556-2811 - Caller ID listed as Private.  Recorded voice came on saying this was a reminder about our "inspection tomorrow.  If you have any questions call 800-556-2811."  Searched for that number on the web and came up with DataScan Field Services (http://www.dsfs.com/)  I have no idea what this is about or who they are.

I received a call from them today.  They are a company that inspects cars that are coming off their leases.  I have a Volvo and the lease expires next month.  They want to set up an appointment to inspect the car.  I am turning the car in within the week so I told them to inspect the car at the dealership.

Received a phone call stating that my car needed to be inspected prior to it being returned.  This is the 5th car I've leased, never went through this process.  Not sure why you would want your car examined before it gets returned.  What if the car gets damaged between the inspection and the return?  I told the caller that I would work with the Dealer.  She very abruptly told me not to do that as this was a new program and the dealer may not be aware of the program.  DUH!  When would you launch a program and not tell anyone about it?  Time for a BBB call.

I've verified that this is a car inspection company for cars coming off lease.

Got a call from this number.  The company is Data Scan Field.  They are legit, if you don't have any leased vehicles that are getting returned then it may be a mistaken call to you but as far as I can tell they're not spammy on purpose.

Yes it was a legitimate call.  I believe the caller said her company's name was "Inspect a Ride". They were hired by a prospective buyer to inspect a car I was selling. It turns out I sold the car to another buyer before the inspection so "Inspect a Ride" never came to see the car.  Thus, I have no experience with the inspectors but the phone call was legitimate and the person was very professional.

I have been receiving harassing phone calls from datascan field services about a vehicle inspection.  I bought my lease out 3 years ago and have no further obligation with the leasing company.  I'm not sure why they are calling.  They left a message saying that they would continue to leave messages until I spoke with someone.  I phoned there today to tell them I do not have a lease and I wished for the phone calls to stop.  I did not give my name or number and the representative said they would take my number out of their system.  I asked if my number showed up with my phone call and she said yes.  Hopefully that is the end of it, or I will be reporting them.

Got a call from this number this morning. There was a beep and it Took about 15 seconds for the actual message to play. Sounded like the phone was placed against an answering machine as the message wasn't loud and clear. Said they were calling from CedarScan Field or Shield (couldn't hear) services "on behalf of your financial institution" about having a vehicle inspection. Told to call back 800 556 2811 "promptly" to schedule. Sounds phishy to me. Showed up on caller ID as Free Call Toll 1 877 492 3773.

Legit call.  My car is coming off of lease in about a month, and they're the company that sets up or does the vehicle inspection.  Not a spam caller.

Strange, since I already have my end of lease inspection scheduled with the company that my leasing company uses. I received notification from the leasing company that I was to expect Auto Van to call and do the inspection, which they did. So don't know who Data Scan is but I will be telling US Bank that they are also contacting me. My guess is Data Scan is using end of lease data to try to buy end of lease cars before the dealer gets a chance to take it back. If you are under mileage and the car is worth more than your payoff you are losing that equity by turning it into the dealer. No idea if Data Scan is legitimate, but I just called US Bank and they definitely do not use them so they are not an official inspection company, at least not for my lessor. I'd be very careful!

Have receive two calls from AutoVin. In refence to state inspection from a lease. First, I have no cars on lease. I buy my cars, trucks and motorcycle outright. Second, I do my own inspection. I never skip out on what is needed and I do my kids car too and get the parts cheaper and better than what a shop would charge.

They have call a few times and today I had the chance to answer. Looking for my daughter to get her car inspected. I guess they got the info from the leasing company. I answer and said she don't live here anymore. Hung up, I call back and all I get is a drop call, twice. I perform state inspection and no one will check the car out like her dad. If you go on BBB lot of one stars, a lot. Stay with the mechanic you been dealing with. SCAM.

This is not a safety inspection.  This is an inspection of the vehicle at the end of the lease so that the leasing company can determine the vehicle's worth.

So this number called my work phone about a "free vehicle inspection" or whatever. Obviously it's a recording and not a real person so I'm not even bothering.
