Got a message from someone who's name/company name I could not make out clearly - requesting that I call this number before 6:00 pm three days hence.  Called back the number and received a message from Aliant.  Had paid an overdue bill the previous day which would not yet have cleared - so I'm assuming it was regarding a collection.

Got a message from someone and their name and company name I could not make out at all. So I called it and it took me to Aliant, dirty tactics you pricks.

Yeah, its from Aliant requesting that you call back real soon or they might disconnect your phone. The guy who left me the message sounded real tough like Agent Smith from The Matrix.

bottom line...if you get calls that you do not recognize don't answer them.Sometimes this # is Aliant and other times it is a marketing group.There are thousands of these type of numbers available to anyone one a contract basis.Numbers starting with 000,866 and even 800 are the most popular because we assume they are more or less local.

Just got a call that was purportedly from Bell Aliant (phone company), however they were looking for a person to pay a bill, but we don't know the person who owes the bill. Very poor english, and bad grasp of communication.

Upon further investigation with the REAL Bell Aliant in the phone book they said the number 1-800-561-5728 was their number for their accounts receivable department. Upon further pressure, Bell Aliant admitted that the number belonged to a collection agency that they outsource to.

Oh Ya! We get gouged for their crap product and does it support the economy? No, call center from our Canadian Utility located in India or wherever it's not here, and they don't have a clue what they are doing.

When I picked up my phone it said it said thank you for calling bell aliant phone number starting with the area code, when given they hung up on me. Sketchy do not answer

I picked up the phone after two rings. Silence. Why bother calling me if you're not going to talk to me?

They are calling to collect on my current, but overdue, phone/Cable/Internet bill. But I'm pretty sure they shouldn't call every single hour. It's been 5 calls so far this afternoon...   I've had service for 7 years and I'm always late, so [***]!

Called, (I didn't answer) left no message on Thanksgiving Day.  Really!?! Isn't there a law about calling on holidays?

I have no Aliant services, and they called me on a Telus cell phone. Interesting.

They called yesturday and wanted me to call them back within 24 hours.  Comes up as Bell Aliant. Its a recorded message that can barley say my name. Have yet to call them back. My husband knows someone who works for Bell and she said they would never call on a Saturday.  Also they would email us.

also got this idiot call from some nebulous unknown pest:what must they be paying Ma Bell for the privilege of hounding folks to distraction while we are also paying to use our own phones in the prescribed & accepted manner! Is the phone company that greedy they cannot police these calls & weed them out? Shame shame shame!

They sure don't know Canadian collection laws.  Working for a Canadian company.  they might want to get their s^&$t together.  Four calls in one day is Harassment.  Get it together Aliant
