yeah, this outfit keeps calling my home with the urgent message.
I call them and ask them to remove my number and the guy says not happening,
gets mouthy and hangs up on me.

I called the phone company and got thier name "Argyle Accounts receivable".
call your attorney general and place a complaint if you are not the person they are looking for.

Cease And Desist.  It's your first option.  NEVER use your home address.  Get a PO Box for this situation.

Modify the letter below as necessary, but make SURE you include "cease and desist", "not a refusal to pay", and "validation" as described in "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act".

        SAMPLE LETTER BELOW:

        Argyle
        Address
        City, State Zip

In reply to: Phone Number [MY NUMBER]

        Dear Manager:

You have reached the wrong party.  This notice shall serve as a limited cease and desist order and a demand that all future communication be in writing, via United States postal mail.

If you continue to insist that I am indeed the correct party for your investigation, then consider this a notice that your claim is being disputed.  This is not a refusal to pay.  This is a request for validation made pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Be advised that I am not requesting a "verification" that you have my mailing address, I am requesting a "validation"; that is, competent evidence that I have some contractual obligation to pay you.

Your failure to satisfy this request within the requirements of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act will be construed as your absolute waiver of any and all claims against me, and your tacit agreement to compensate me for costs and attorney fees.

        Sincerely,

        My Name

Follow up to my first post... Check your credit report (Transunion, Equifax, Experian).  See if there are ANY "inquiries" on your report that you don't recognize.

If you signed up for a store card (Best Buy, Sears, etc) then you'll have an inquiry for that.  If you started a new job, you'll have an inquiry for that (yes, your employer will check your credit before you start).  Same thing if you just started a new rental or lease.

If you find a inquiry from Argyle or any other company, then you can use the letter below to get the inquiry removed.  Some inquiries are ok... but lots of incorrect ones can reduce your credit score ('cause it looks like your trying to incur a lot of debt with multiple companies).

          CREDIT BUREAU  (Transunion, Equifax, Experian)
          Address
          City, ST ZIP
          Confirmation Number: (my report id)

          To whom it may concern:

As per my Equifax credit report, “INQUIRY NAME” obtained my credit file on 3/1/05.  I have not applied for credit or employment with “INQUIRY NAME”.

I have sent a letter to the organizations responsible for these unauthorized inquiries asking them to verify or remove the misleading information from my credit report.   Attached you will find a copy of the letters that were retuned by the United States Postal Service with no forwarding address available.

These inquiries are unauthorized and the organizations could not provide a “permissible purpose” as defined in the FCRA [15 U.S.C. § 1681n].

These unauthorized inquires should be deleted.

          INQUIRY NAME    03/01/05

Please delete this misleading information, and supply a corrected credit profile to all creditors who have received a copy within the last 6 months, or the last 2 years for employment purposes.

          Sincerely,

          Name

Oh, yeah.. very important:  If you DO send a letter to ANYONE in regards to this situation, you must ALWAYS spend the extra few $$ and send it "return reciept" from the post office.

It's in CAPITAL letters because it is REALLY IMPORTANT.

If you ever end up in front of a Judge (which is a possibility) you want to be able to prove that you sent the letter of Cease And Desist; you want to be able to prove the time it took them to respond (they have very limited time based on the FCRA); etc.

You can GUARANTEE they will have their paperwork.  You need to PROTECT yourself.

I just got a call from this number today. WOW, were they belligerent and inept!

        The phone call began:

Argyle Solutions:     “Is this JOHN DOE?”

        John Doe:        “Who’s calling, please?”

        A. S.:    “This is BOB, I’m calling from ARGYLE SOLUTIONS. Can you confirm your date of birth for me!”

        J. D.:    “???...My birth date? What is this regarding, please?”

        A. S.:    “Just confirm your birth date and I’ll tell you!” (This is where he started to get belligerent with me)

        J. D.:    “I don’t give out any personal information unless I know what it’s regarding. What is this about, please?”

        A. S.:    “I HAVE MORE INFORMATION ON YOU THAN YOU THINK!!!” (He was loud and condescending at this point and trying to get me off guard) “I already have your SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, the last four numbers are, 6789.” (I certainly had my guard up now!!!) “IS YOUR BIRTH DATE 1/2/34?”

At this point I informed him that there was NO way he was going to get any information from me. Still in a belligerent and forceful way he tried to ply psychology on me, questioning my integrity and character. I informed him that my integrity and character were just fine, thank you, and one last time that if he told me the nature of the call I would be more than happy to work with him.

His supervisor got on the line at that time and tried the same approach with the same results. IDIOTS!

I’ve done my due diligence and have learned the nature of contracts and how to deal with disputes and alleged actions. For anything to be actionable against you they need to have your name and birthday and they need you to confirm it. They make is seem like it’s for your protection, that they’re being careful not to divulge your information to anyone else. The truth is that once you confirm your name and birth date they now have an actionable contract with you. All language is contracting and is enforceable.

ARGYLE SOLUTIONS probably knows about the nature of contracts, where they are inept is in their approach. ARGYLE SOLUTIONS is a medical industry collection agency. They purchase debt and try to collect on it.

I believe Argyle Solutions has gone out of business, per the phone company (April 2009).  Their phone number is NO longer 972-410-4200 and fax 972-410-4201.  Unfortunately, we were issued their phone/fax numbers and still get a lot of calls for Argyle Solutions.  PLEASE, DO NOT call 972-410-4200 or fax 972-410-4201 for this company.  Thank you.

I have been receiving calls from this number 1-800-564-2380 every day for 4 months.  It's driving me up the walls. They don't leave a name or what it is regarding. I don't have any outstanding debts, and avoid contracts.  I am on the "DO Not Call List." Let us know if calling them fixes the problem. I wish everyone across the U.S. could agree on a single day to call them. Show our appreciation.

not when the amount is absurd for something so simple and cheap to do. nobody should pay 400.00 for an x-ray of a hand. that x-ray should only cost around 75.00. i have decided now, that whenever i receive a medical bill that is outrageously large when the procedure did not mandate such a price, that i go to the source, find out who came up with that crazy price, and beat the crap out of them.now let's see them pay that stupid a** price for an x-ray.

The issue with this company is not so much that they are debt collectors - it is that they are exceptionally rude and abusive EVEN WHEN THEY ARE CALLING IN ERROR.  Hospital debts take time to go over to collections and in that time, people may have moved.  Unfortunately, my phone number seems to be one that some dead-beat used to have.  As a result, I constantly get calls from agencies looking for the last person who had this number.  When they have the wrong number, it is a fair expectation that they should be reasonable and professional (and remove your number from their file).  However, there is at least one person (and apparently more) at Argyle who is unable or unwilling to behave in this manner.

i don't have any outstanding debts, yet i get a call from them once a week.  further, by no means should any semi-intelligent person be answering personal questions without first being told what the issue is regarding.  obviously you don't fit into that category.

Argoyle Solutions keeps calling my home continously at two times a day with the message with This is not a solicitation call this is of an urgent matter-I call the number back the people are rude, arrogrant and they keep calling for my son who does not have any outstanding debt and they refuse to tell me what sort of business they are-they just get smart and say we are a business and other than that that is none of your business.  I told them to remove my number also because my son does not live at this number and never has and their response is we'll just put a skip trace on him-I told the lady named Becky obviously she didn't do a very good job the first time she did that-maybe they needed to replace her.

Two different types of calls from the same company. One, as noted by others, is a recorded voice wanting me to call them back. The other is 2-3 minutes of dead air, but upon turning up the volume, one can hear an office type call center noises. The thing is, they are calling my voice mail, costing me airtime. I want to send these jokers a bill for eating up mY minutes with their dead air joke. This is a seriously abusive company.
