- lalofraud charges on my credit card by rogers 416-666-9958/800-565-6009
- Very FrustratedWhat I don't understand is WHY the banks are still allowing these charges to go through? Are they stupid or something with all these people filing fraud claims why are they still approving charges for this company and NOT red flagging it!! UGH!!!
Yeah OK, Americans really use a F*ing Canadian phone company!!
This is absolutely appalling!! - AT&T| 1 replyDo you folks have ATT wireless? I think they may be responsible for the breach, as my account was only used to make a purchase at ATT and now I am experiencing the rogers wireless fraud problem.
- Frustrated replies to AT&TNo, I have Verizon Wireless. My bank also told me that they forced the charge to go through.
- BillI just got 2 charges of 199.99 each on my phone bill from this company. I'll be contesting them of course.
- SebastienJust happend to me I saw 2 unwanted charges on my credit card bill on January 26, one is for Rogers 800-565-6009, the other is for Bloomex (an online florist who delivers). 107,32$ for Bloomex and 100$ for Rogers. Instant contest!
- FrustratedSomething really needs to be done about this company!! This is amazing how they can continue these fraudulant charges and nothing happen to them. Especially since they are frauding people in the United States?? There is nothing these banks and credit card companies can do legally??
- MetooThey got me for over 1500. My card company screwed them back.
- BernardThey just charged 90$ on my credit card.
- Caller: Rogers
- scammedover $1500 charged to my card by FIDO/Rogers - FRAUD
- left hanging!Just had my credit card scammed for $399. The 800-565-6009 is a phone number to Rogers Cellular, a ligit phone number and company whos head office is in Ontario, Canada. The number listed before this toll free number is SUPPOSED to be the account number the charge was put through on. These accounts, according to Rogers Cellular, are fraudulent accounts and do not exist. They are investigating, so they say, and I had to cancel card and hope that my credit card company will reverse the charges. Rogers Cellular phone rep told me I should also contact my local police department for more help.
They say my card was compromised, yet I rarely use it and when I do I'm very aware of my surroundings. I don't think Rogers asked for my CVR code on the back of the card because I don't believe anyone obtained it. Sounds to me like Rogers Cellular is more responsible for this than anyone else yet I have to wait 60-90 days for my credit card company to hopefully fix.- Caller: Rogers Telecommuncations
- the fraud continues| 1 replyThey got me!!! In the past three hours, 3 fraudulant charges appeared on my credit card: $200 + $200 + $250. I happened to check my online account right after it happened and noticed the three charges from Rogerswl 1Time 800 565 6009. I called my credit card company right away and they froze the account. They are starting a fraud investigation and will issue me a new card. I called Rogers and they are useless. They couldn't provide any information. Thanks a lot. What is going on with this scam?? It's been going on for a long time by the sounds of it. Rogers needs to get a better system for identifying fraudulent payments. I'm in Victoria BC Canada but this problem seems to be all over the States as well.
- John replies to the fraud continuesI'm in victoria too... $167.54 just showed up on my visa statement... here we go...
- In_Vancouver replies to xk23You are correct xk23. I live in Vancouver Canada and a charge with the number 800-565-6009 showed up on my CC as well. I am a FIDO customer (I think FIDO is owned by Rogers, I know they are related in some manner) and I paid my phone bill using my credit card. This 800 number might be a standard number that FIDO or Rogers use for the CC companies when someone pays their bill.
This is in Canada though. I am not aware of Rogers' presence in US (I don't think they have any actually). So, I am not sure why the US residents are charged. That might actually be part of a possible scam.
I thought I would share my thoughts as FIDO (Rogers) is legit and the same number shows up when a real customer (like me) pay their phone bill.
Thanks! - DappaToffa$198.00 on my credit card yesterday ...
- Jean James| 1 replyToday is July 27, 2010 in Canada. My Amex got a charge from that RogersWL1Time 800-565-6009 on June 30, 2010. I had a transaction done on Expedia.ca a couple of weeks before, Hilton a week before and Paypal the day before the posting of their transaction using the same credit card. So I am speculating that might be how they get hold of the credit card number. I have canceled the card to avoid future charges and fraud. Other people may consider doing the same.
- LouisYup 1 charge on my visa for 300.00........just cleared. Im travelling so can't afford to cancel my card now but what they ****&&&& this is bogus. sane 1800 number. and an acct number that looks legit but not mine.
Hope its a mistake . - maikoone charge for 200 then another one with 99.99 WTF
- louis| 1 replyYup another 400 and 500 on Aug 5..........its a scam I called rogers.
- Lee replies to Jean JamesYou're right Jean - We stayed at a "high end" hotel in Toronto on July 17th and paid with credit card. That's the 1st time we used the card in months. Just got our bill yesterday and they scammed us for $1900
Rogers 800-565-6009 - 4 transactions of $100 each
Wind Mobile - 877-459-4168 6 charges of just under $100 each
and West Coast Green Currency for $845.00 US - converted to Canadian = $906
I googled West Coast Greenery's number and it comes back as Healthy Home Plans in San Francisco
They had to have taken our cc number from the hotel and made up a card - I don't know how you can get cash without one.
Nonetheless, our CC has reversed the charges.
Good Luck to you all
