- O SUAREZ replies to AkaneI received a similar call offering car insurance and asking for my b-day.

- TNI have received numerous calls from 866-800-5475 and 800-572-5848 if you have a Wells Fargo home morgtage or bank account they give your information to their affiliates. What is so irratating is that the little chickens hang up as soon as you answer the phone. I actually caught one off guard this afternoon and advised them I am on the "do not call registry" he advised me that he can only make a note of it on my account and it will take 45 days for them to remove my number from their system. He even told me they have another phone number 800-572-5848 along with their 866-800-5475 phone number. 800-572-5848 goes to National Union Fire Ins. Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa. is a division of the super-huge AIG insurance company. I told him I am keeping track of each call his company makes to my phone number. I also advised him that the company can be fined if they continue to call. I also called Wells Fargo and had them put a privacy stop on my account. I have been advised by Wells Fargo that it will take 60 days for them to remove me off of ALL of their telemarketing list. Another number that I was given by the kid that called from National Union Fire Ins. Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa. is a division of the super-huge AIG insurance company....CALL WELLS FARGO AND ADVISE THEM TO PUT A PRIVACY STOP ON YOUR INFORMATION.

- colorado springs residentI got a call from 1-800-572-5848
He asked who I was and then tried to tell me about health care being (from or affiliated with wells fargo)offered and asking to send me information that involves signing a policy that can be cancelled at anytime. (Problably to get account information or more personal information). I simply asked for his number of which he gave me this one. I asked for his name and all he said was --you problably won't be able to reach me...so I hung up. I will try the advice given above to put a privacy stop on my information. Sounds like they are attempting a new way of scamming and identify theft, by sending something that you have to sign, that includes your personal information.- Caller: says hes through Wells Fargo
- PhillipCalled from 800-553-1077, said she was from Wells Fargo offering insurance special. I said the party wasn't here and took down the number.
You can ask the company to put you on their personal Do Not Call List however it is better to ask to speak with a supervisor to do this. Many believe that being on the National Do Not Call List excludes them from all telemarketing. This is not true. If a company you are affiliated with sells your information to a third party marketing company, the calls are 100% legit. Do what the above says to do, Call Wells Fargo, also if you get the calls again, speak with a supervisor to be added to the Do Not Call List specific for that company. Then You are allowed to file charges if the calls continue after 60 days.- Call type: Telemarketer
- ferupwithfargoYOU CAN CALL 1-888-528-8460 TO STOP ALL CALLS FROM WELLS FARGO & THEIR THIRD PARTY VENDORS. It took me several hours of research and calls, but this is the number from Wells Fargo Privacy Policy. You can also change your mail preferences at this number. It was a pain to find, but easy to change your preferences when make the call.

- Anonym| 1 replyCalled 800-572-5848 and talked to a "Dale." It seems that he was accustomed to dispute calls, since he was ready to answer me with his script. A few months ago, I was offered the supplementary health insurance, in behalf od Wells Fargo, when in fact it's AIG or one of their subsidiaries. The agreement was for me to review the document and cancel in 30 days if I decide not to go about it. I did not receive any doc from AIG, and then received a charge of $24.90 on my account. Mr. Dale argued with me that they had sent the envelope with the information and that I should have cancelled. I retorted that I did not receive it for review so how can I cancel. He spewed back that he was just saying that they mailed it. We were going around in circles so I asked for a refund, at which he readily replied "Absolutely!" It's just another day with telemarketers.
BTW the number above for the WFB Privacy Number works fine and checks out with their website. I changed my preferences right away. Thanks for the tip.- Caller: AIG

- fjb| 1 replyThis number is also associated with 877-210-4453 (search this site for that number also, and for more information). Note that 877-210-4453 does not work for callback, that is just the number that shows up in caller id -- their callback number is 800-572-5848 according to the rep. that I spoke to. She was supposedly from Wells Fargo, although other recipients said they were calling from US Bank or AIG.

- fjb replies to fjbThis number belongs to GCS - Global Contact Services. They called me again today, again from the 877-210-4453 number stating that this 800 number was their official callback number. We asked to be placed on the do not call list last month, obviously that still has not happened.
- PrescottChetOn receiving a statement indicating an unknown charge we inquired by calling 800-572-5848 (in statement info). My wife had received a call offering med insurance and implying Wells Fargo connction. She requested written materials to review, as that our policy is NOT to puchase anything online that we did originate! NO printed info appeared! Apparently the written material reqires a cancellation. An unathorized charge oe $24.90 was made to our account. When we called it was claimed that the material was mailed and a cancellation was not received. Could this be a commision "skimming" scam inside the telecaller business!!! We demanded cancellation And refund, which we will check in our account activity.
- John replies to AkaneThis company provides additional insurance coverage. They did recive my info from Wells Fargo. The service actually sounded like a good deal. I signed up for it. If you want to ask me how it goes, send me an email at "askolits at nni . com"
- AlIt probably wasnt this number but same thing happened

- JuzThinkin'| 2 repliesAbout 4-6 months ago I started receiving phone calls from telemarketers on an almost weekly basis. Most of them said that they were in some way connected with Wells Fargo and that they were calling to offer me additional services to my account. One of the calls was from a woman offering me some type of health insurance with AIG. According to this woman, it would be on a 30-day trial period, they would send me some written information to review, and if I did not cancel within the 30-day trial period they would automatically begin to deduct $24.90 from my checking account. I tried to tell the woman that I really wasn't interested and couldn't really afford it. But she was VERY persistent, claiming that it wouldn't cost me anything to look over the paperwork. Well, to make a long story short, I don't recall receiving any paperwork, so of course I couldn't cancel. The unexpected $24.90 charge went through my account, causing an overdraft and $85.00 worth of fees.
Of course I am VERY upset about this and I'm so glad I found this web site to help me deal with this situation. I wish I hadn't been so distracted that I could have dealt with the call in a more forceful manner like some of you, but I will be taking your advice "ferupwithfargo" and calling the 1-888-528-8460 number ASAP. Thank you all for taking the time to share your stories. I can't help but wonder how many others receive these type of calls due to Wells Fargo selling their personal information to a third party. And why are these telemarketers asking for additional personal information BEFORE you even really know whether they or the services they offer are legitimate? And if these telemarketers are targeting people in a certain age group couldn't they be counting on many of these people either forgetting to send the paperwork back if they receive it or being confused about some aspect of the call they received so that they unwittingly end up incurring a charge for something they may not understand, want, or need as a means for AIG to make EVEN MORE money?

- Mr. AngryThey called me about a month and a half ago asking the same thing. I thought to myself "if they're giving me a free gas card and all I have to do is cancel this service once I get it, why not?".
I give them my info. I'm 20 years old and this will be the first (and last) offer I'll ever buy into.
So about a week and a half rolls by, and I have yet to see this letter in the mail. A few days pass, and I get another call asking if I want the same insurance (like they didn't even know I already signed up). I'm like "ok, I already got a call, I think "something got lost in the mail"". Take 2. Same deal. Two weeks roll by. I'm thinking "OK, this is weak sauce." I give them a buzz and explain to them that I've tried twice, and no dice. Please Cancel. The lady on the phone's like "Sir, I really recommend that you keep this policy" She said this twice, and both times I'm like "If you folks can't get a letter to my house in two tries, It's not going to work".
So after talking with this lady for about 20 minutes, she gives me a conformation of termination code.
I post this code next to my bedroom door thinking I'll need it if they start charging me.
About a month goes by, and I'm looking at my online statement, and, what do you know: they've charged me twice for $9.95. Blood starts boiling.
To make a long story short (too late I know), I've lost that damn piece of paper with the termination code on it.
I'll call them first thing tomorrow morning and "complain".
My step-dad this whole time has been saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".- Caller: AIG (maybe)

- KayI have now received 2 calls from this number. Both indicated they were from Wells Fargo and wanted to offer a free $25 gas card. They knew my name and address but wanted to confirm my birth date. I ended the call right there. One, Marie Gonzalez stated she was with a third party of Wells Fargo called Interactive Call Services. I am going to call Wells Fargo now and ask them to put a privacy stop on my information.

- Truth in Lending| 1 replyPeople:
NEVER give out your birthdate, Social security, address, or even your name or address.
Legitimate offers from real companies will NEVER ask for this.
Do NOT EVEN CONFIRM you are who they are asking for on the phone.
NEVER GIVE THEM ANYTHING. IT IS A SCAM!- Caller: Wells Fargo supposedly
