Calls about once a week, but no one is there.  Wait and the line goes back to a dial tone.

Called cell phone May 23, 0951 AM. Didn't know, Didn't answer!!

Just called my land line and no one at the other end. Reporting it to DO NOT CALL complaint.

HAH! After further investigation, I discovered that this is the Qwest Customer Service number.  My neighbor gave Qwest my phone number as a message phone while hers wasn't working.  The idjuts probably called my number thinking they were TESTING her number. DOH!

How about further info about this number... This number is the Qwest repair number. If you call to make changes to your account, you may recieve an automated call saying your services are working and if they are not working you are instructed to call in. That is if you answer the call...

Qwest is completely unhelpful. They don't understand the embarrassment of the situation. Telemarketers spoofing the telephone company's telephone number!!!!!!1

I don't answer. They have called many times.

This number keeps calling my fax line-  annoying for sure!

Thank you for your very helpful post.  Yours was the first one that actually told me WHO was calling from this number, that it was legitimate, and that I would not regret answering it (and in fact if I answer it, that will likely insure that I don't continue to receive more of these calls!)

No worries, if YOU made changes to any features online to YOUr QWEST corporation landline, they just do a follow-up to make sure all is well.  It is a recording. 800-573-1311

1(311)0 what kind of telephone number is this? I get a call from it, at least three times a day. I do not answer.

why would quest call to verify an appt. they are showing up to 1 hour after the appt. was set?

This was Qwest confirming a repair order on my phone line.  It was an automated call, but legit.

When you receive calls from a strange number like this, it is probably a small to medium sized business calling.  The problem lies in that the business' phone system, connected to the phone company via an ISDN line (don't worrk if you don't know what that is), is responsible for supplying the caller-id information.  The information, usually only digits, is programmed in the small-businnes' phone system (in this case, by an idiot) and is transmitted with the call. There are standards that they are supposed to adhere to in programming the number but the "programmer" is usually the same guy that fixes the printer and the phone system doesn't have a nice, easy-to-use menu or a "do-it" button.

This number has called me several times. I don't answer 800, etc calls. I will be reporting this to the do not call register
