- Norman RReceived a call from 800 576 0142 asking for "your 16 digit card number!" Of course it was to expedited taking care of this
valued customer. It was a prerecorded effort but poorly executed. NEVER give up Card Numbers (a legitimate business will
know your card number and will allow you to talk to an "agent.") No such option for talking with an agent with this scam. This for sure appears to be a blatant attempt to gain Personal Information with the purpose of Identity Theft.- Caller: Did Not Identify
- MichelleJust got a call from this number, about a pre-paid debit card (which I don't have) that urged me to input my card number. It said something about an expiration date, I think. Probably designed to make people panic and put in their card number.
I called back, couldn't get a live person. It said "Call back and be sure to have your card number available." SCAM ALERT!
Folks, if you actually have a debit card, hang up, get your card, turn it over and call the number printed on the back of the card.- Caller: SCAM
- DavidCalled my cell and wanted me to ring back.
I do not have a prepaid debit card.
Scam? - GSNuisance call. Didn't answer. Never answer a call if you don't recognize the number, but check it out on this site.
- PamelaSame as the others. Recording wanted me
To enter 16 digit account number. With no
Option to speak with customer service. Scam!- Caller: Netspend

- Caller: netspend
- Call type: Debt collector
- JohnCacalled me same same trying to get me your credit card numbers from me haha good luck
- SCGot a call from this number saying they are NetSpend. I did a little digging and found a number and got a live person, obviously offshore. People said they did not call me and I am confused because my cell phone is on a Federal Do Not Call list. Really bad, bad business. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THESE SCAM ARTIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- Mike PI was wary of fraud as well and did not call back on 800-576-0142
I did call back on the # listed on the back of my credit card ....got through to service and YES there were fraudulent charges on my account ...we closed the account and I'm getting a new card.....so I guess the phone number is legit ...but I would still only call the number on my card to be safe- Caller: netspend
- MiguelRecorded call with a B.S. message about a NetSpend prepaid card I do not have.
Gave an 800 number to call.
An apparent scam where they try to capture card information from unsuspecting people.- Caller: "NetSpend" but not likely real ID
- Teri BietermanScam from a company wanted you to enter your account number from Net spend
- Caller: 800-576-0142
- phone userSCAM!!! Voicemail message wanted info regarding problem with prepaid debit card, and call back right away. SCUM!!!!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- LibbyIt is a legitimate number. I called the number on the back of my card and talked to the customer service person who confirmed that it is the fraud prevention number for netspend, and that there was an attempt to steal my card number. It was declined because the person was using it for an internet purchase didn't have the correct exp. date and three numbers on the back of the card. They cancelled my card right away and are sending me a new one via UPS that I will have to sign for. If you are ever in doubt, call the number on the back of your card. Never trust a robo call, and verify that the person calling is indeed who they say they are.
- Caller: netspend
- Suspicious CallsI also got a voicemail message that said my Netspend account had a problem and wanted me to call 800-576-0142. Since I had no idea what type of account that was, I looked it up online. I did see that there is an actual Netspend company that issues prepaid cards, but this is most likely a phishing scam that people are using to try to get unsuspecting, naïve people to call and enter their card numbers. Please DO NOT ever give your card number to anyone. If you have a problem with your card, call and get the current one cancelled and a new one issued. When you provide your account number over the phone, you are basically giving strangers access to your funds.
- Caller: Says they were Netspend
