I keep getting calls from this number, and since I've been through this before - I don't answer.  I'm just curious to see if anyone else is getting bugged by them?

i have gotten a call from the same number three days straight i pick up and hear nothing

I keep getting this call, three days in a row now to my cell phone. I pick up say hello and hear nothing back

I also  have been getting calls, it is when I am at work and they never leave a message.

I do not answer but they call every other day.

I have also been receiving calls from this number and just like everyone else, they don't say anything when I do pick up and if I am not around, they never leave a message.  I want them to stop calling!

I have received this call...and answered like a dumbass they received my information from me ordering light bulbs off the tv...then they have charged my check card twice 39.09 for what was suppose to me free mags. [***] and i am going to me getting the police involved.

Saw the number.  Didn't answer.  No message.

I received a phone call on my cell today.  I did not answer and they did not leave a message.  When I called the number back it said hold for the next available rep.  I hung up.

i had the same thing as everyone else happen.  they call no answer.  they hung up and i googled the number and found this forum.  does anyone know who this is???

I've been getting calls from for the past couple of days in the morning. I haven't answered and they haven't left a message.

Generally if you get a call and no one is there, it is a company testing to see if the number is valid so they can sell it to telemarketing companies. I know someone that used to work for a company that did this and then sold the numbers. Why they keep calling I'm not sure, but I think it's to figure out when you are actually home to deduce the best time for a telemarketer to call and not get a machine.

Received calls (since making note):  12/28/2007; 1/2/2007; 1/3/2007 (2 calls); 1/4/2007 (2 calls); 1/5/2007 (1 call so far)

I finally named this number "JUNK" and programmed my cell phone to not ring.  Have called back these idiots several times and was successful this morning.  Supposedly these people are "Northern Readers", offering some bogus vacation crap.  I interrupted the telemarketing pinhead and said that my phone was not a free call for him.  He kept right on with his spiel.  I then increased the volume of my protest and ended up shouting him down to tell him that no more calls were to be made to this number.  He finally replied that it would take up to 15 days for this to occur.  The FBI experience sounds interesting.

i used to get this number calling all the time and it eventually stopped. it just started up again today. i called the number and it was just a recording saying to call back during normal business hours. probably some kind of scam. anyone else have any ideas?

Same result as everyone, no one there if answered. Went to the trouble of tracing the calls, don't waste your time on that dead end. The phone companies do not have it in their best interest to stop these calls. Being on the "Do Not Call" gov list is no help either.

Here is why no one answered... for you. It's a shotgun dialer. You get the luck of the draw. On that particular call you and thousands others were also dialed and only one got the bad luck of reaching someone when they answered this call.

The only way to stop these short of a citizen revolt is to en masse stop  buying from venders that share your information even when they claim not to. if you started getting these chances are you recently made a credit card purchase for a TV or Internet product and they insisted they needed your phone number to verify your legitimate use of the card. Complain to your card compoany for one then never buy from that vender again and pass the word along. List the venders at sites like this.

Oh and you cell phone users getting these calls that cost 'YOU' money!!, well you can thank "Dubya" for that. He opened up the cell phone system for spam calls.
