this phone number is for a magazine subscription processing company. The $1.00 initial charge is to notify you that one or more magazine subscriptions is a bout to renew. You can call the number to find out what magazine(s) you have subscribed to in the past that are about to renew. If you do not want the subscriptions to renew then choose the option to cancel

This is the books-a-million scam that happens when you agree to their "eight weeks free"........they run through the program so fast, and you never get told that you will be charged if you dont cancel.  It is all on the paperwork though, so technically they are not breaking the law.......on another note, the cashiers loose their job if they dont meet a quota for these magazines.  I know that for a fact, as I used to work for the company.  It's a shame really!

I had received 4 "free" magazines with a $2 processing charge.  They would automatically be renewed unless you cancel, which they stated from the get go.  The 800 number I saved from my initial order is faster to cancel with.  It is 18004292550.  Also they have a web site : www.magcustomerservice.com

    Hope that helps others!!!

the number on this message needs an access code, and the web site requires one to give information that does not process via the method prescribed: the captcha does not work or says there are too many entries with that name.  I know this is not so, as I did not order any magazines at all.

WOW,,,  This company got an auth.# from my debit card,, lucky nothing was showing up as a charge yet,, but my bank said they could charge something to the card.  I cancelled my card with the bank.  I also called the company (800-586-7043) when the automated service comes on don't press any numbers and don't say anything... after a few minutes a real person will come on and you will be able to cancel any charges.  They will still try and sell you something,,,, just keep saying NO!  Best of Luck if find yourself in this mess!

Finally got it cancelled! You have to call 1-800-586-7043 but don't say anything to automated system. Stay silent and eventually you will talk to a live person. This is the only way to get fraudulent charges refunded.

Received an unauthorized transaction on my account and called this number to resolve.  Huge Books a Million scam.  When you purchase items at BAM free introductory magazine subscriptions are offered.  They state that they will not share account information, but SUPRISE!  They do, they copy down your debit card information and send it to the magazine company, which then has access to your account and does a test withdrawal.  I followed the instructions of a previous poster, and after 2 1/2 minutes of saying nothing, the recording stated I would be transferred to a customer service rep.  Be patient and multitask:  15 minutes later I was!  I asked to have my financial information removed and the rep stated it was.

I did exactly what Mindy and Wendy did: I said nothing and within 2 minutes I talked to a real person who cancelled my automatic renewals on magazines I had ordered to use up airline miles.  When I chose the magazines, I did not see a notice that they would be automatically renewed! Thanks for the help

Just wanted to let people know that you can unknowingly subscribe to these magazine subscriptions through FYE. I don't even remember the last time I stepped into one of those stores, but I must have signed up for a rewards service there during checkout or something:(
