- Sherriem| 7 replies8/14 9:45 PDT Don't recognize this number and no ID or message left. Tried again at 12:30.
- Caller: 0118009094576
- SherriemThis is strange. Appears on call log as outgoing from me several times, once around 8Pm and a couple of times around 2 AM today. Try calling and get FAX machine type sound. At least it doesn't ring here.
- Caller: nothing
- Sherriem9/11 13:01, 13:02, 14:03 and 14:05 PDT My phone seems to have a mind of it's own. Don't know this number and didn't try to call anyone at these times.
- Caller: Haven't the foggiest
- crregular calls to this number for several minutes dont know who this is. we did not call this number is it checking lines or so?
- Sherriem9/18 12:30 PDT Essentially, same as all previous reports. I didn't call anyone, my message light was flashing and when I checked phone and voice log, no indication who or what this is. Truly don't care. If it was something important, sure an actual message would be left.
- Caller: Private Caller (right!)
- Sherriem9/25 13:01 and again at 13:03 PDT Phone doesn't ring, but light is flashing. Pick up receiver and get noise like a fax machine. Verizon voice log shows that this an outgoing call from my phone, but I'm the only one here and I know I didn't call anyone at these times. What the devil is this stuff?
- Caller: no ID because supposedly outgoing
- Sherriem10/02 12:30 PDT Again, sitting next to phone, message light starts blinking and call log shows an outgoing call from my phone. Don't understand why phone seems to have a life of it's own. When I pick up receiver, there is dead air for several seconds and then the sound like a fax machine. It has taken a long time for me to realize that there is nothing wrong with me or my phone cord (which I used to thing was the problem). It's just technology gone wild. Don't understand why this happens, but, at least I can sort of deal with it.
- Sherriem10/02 13:01 PDT Just happened again, at least 5 times. Seems to come in waves. Phone doesn't ring, just shows blinking message light.
- Sherriem10/03 2:16 and 2:17 AM. If call log is be believed there were another 2 outgoing attempts from my phone while I was asleep.
- Sherriem10/09 16:13 & 16:14 PDT Call log again shows two outgoing call from my phone which I didn't make. Just noticed in use light on phone blinking at that time.
- Caller: Phone number repeated
- Sherriem10/10 2:18 & 2:19 PDT Still another pair of outgoing calls not made from here at 2 in the morning.
- Sherriem10/24 1:28, 1:27, 1:10, 1:09 All the same as previous.
- Caller: blank
- Rickf replies to Sherriem| 6 repliesI have the same thing. Would you by any chance have a pacemaker/defibrillator? Medtronic (and other companies) provide a bluetooth bedside device connected to your phone line that dials out (usually) once a night. If that's it and its calling out in the middle of the day, you might want to do a manual interrogation and let it dial out. Perhaps that will set the internal modem clock.
- Sherriem replies to Rickf10/26 THANK YOU, RICKF. I do have a pacemaker but it is only supposed to dial out once every three mos. and when I called the woman who administers the program locally, she said it couldn't be their device. I am trying to remember if this started after a squirrel chewed thru my cable and cut off all of my services (TV, phone and computer). It does seem to happen when I am still in bed. I will call the cardiac clinic again tomorrow and discuss this possibility with them.
- Sherriem replies to Rickf| 2 replies10/17 9:19 PDT Eureka, just spoke to St. Jude Medical regarding my Merlin@home Transmitter and this is one of their numbers, so mystery is now solved. Lady I spoke to told me that, even though my regularly scheduled transmissions are every three months, the transmitter may try, at various times, to test and/or reset and I won't have any idea that it is happening. I am very grateful to you for setting me on the trail to clearing this up.
- Leigh replies to RickfWow, thank you. I do have a pacemaker and I have been blocking this number for about a month now. I appreciate your feedback.
- Frank replies to Sherriem| 1 replyYes I to have a home monitor and it shows up on my outgoing calls. I have xfinity phone service, I can check on my computer all calls , incoming an outgoing.
- Sherriem replies to FrankIsn't it amazing that we have to come here to eventually figure out what the numbers are? My monitor ended up tying up my land line for 40 mins. at a time until I called them and explained what was happening. It would be really nice if we were told what to expect, in advance. I have Frontier (formerly Verizon) and all sorts of weird things have been happening since Frontier took over.
- Ruth replies to RickfYes! That is it! My husband has a defibrillator and it calls at 4:00 am.
THank you - EllieI too have gotten the blinking lights and my phone records show quite a few calls from my phone. I do have a St. Jude Medical pacemaker. I'm wondering if this happens after a power outage (we get plenty of those during storms or MVA's) and it's the system rebooting and checking that it's working. Whatever... thanks for clearing this matter.
- Caller: St. Jude Medical
- Call type: Valid
