Called me, said it was imperative I call them back and "Denise" woud be ther for 1 hour and then on Monday at 11:00.
I called they answered it "FCI" I asked then who they were, the woman said they represented a multitude of businesses and asked for my name. I refused to give it to her. She pressed me HARD! I said I would not disclose until I knew who she as, she repeated "Multitude of businesses" and became RUDE! I said "If you will not disclose who you are I cetainly will not" and she said "fine" and SLAMMED the phone down. BEWARE! - Kathy| 3 repliesGot a call from 800-600-1496 X 7387--Same Denise Holmes. I called her back on a "number blocked" phone,... Identifeid myself (gave a fake name) she said she was looking for ...___gave me a males name. I told her I did not know that person. Then she spent about 5 minutes trying to get my phone number. My antannea was up (and I had the wisdom to *67 my phone before calling her so she could not see the number I was calling her from) I gave her the last 4 digits (just in case she was telling the truth AND some guy had had my cell phone before I got it 4 months ago) She got ruder and ruder....said I was refusing to co-operate. I reminded her that although she had not identified herself I had and I was trying to help. She then said "I don't need to put up with this" and slammed down the ophone. (But not before warning me that if I refused to give my phone number I would continue to receive these calls) Lovely experience!! YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Anonymous replies to KathyYou should remind her next time she calls that this is harassment, and that you would be more than happy to report her, and her agency to your local police department.
- MeUm just so you know 1800 calls cannot have the incoming caller id blocked. Since they are paying for the call they can see whose calling even if you *67. I used to work for CFS and we could see it even if they dialed *67 before the 1800# so best bet is to use a payphone to call these 1800#'s PS this collection agency is probably collecting on a Valero/Total Gas card account that got charged off.

- DunamisHell I just received my first callf rom this "SCI" group. Is this fraud or what? The man who goes by the name of Joe Morjordo (something like that) didn't say in his message what it was about. Now I know I've been catching up on my bills but usually when a real company calls for an unpaid debt they will have no problem letting you know their name. So, I'm wondering if I should even entertain this group or not. From the looks of your previous messages it seems to be fraud. (800)600-1496 Ext. 7444 was given to me.

- JoanI have been called by a person named Robert at this number. He has even sunk so low to have looked up my mother (age 78) and told her about legal action against me. She is on a do not call list and I will report this person. I hope he gets fined for his sleaziness.

- RoseMaybudGot the same call on my answering machine, only the lady didn't identify herself. She mentioned a Case Number and said she was trying to contact me, when I didn't recognize her voice.
Her extension was 7429. I think it's a Collection Agency. - dbI received a call from this number at my workplace earlier this morning, in reference to a "legal matter" involving my adult son. I looked the number up on this website (very helpful--thank you). Armed with the information from the other folks who reported, I called back and talked to a "Jessie" who was polite, confirmed that FCI was a collection agency, but refused to give any more information about my son's issues for "legal reasons." He asked me to have him call him. Does the Better Business Bureau monitor collection agencies?

- DASI received a message on my phone from Karen @ 1-800-600-1496 x 7258. She left a reference number and told me it was in regards to an Aunt of mine and that she really needed to talk with me. I called and got a message machine-"SCI". I did not leave a message and I have yet to call back and probably won't based on everyone's comments. So-Thank you!!

- lazyacresReceived a vm from this number, from "Helen" regarding an individual not associated with either my household or anyone in my household. I called the number and ext. and spoke with Helen. She had run a web search for associates of the person in question and had a hit for my wife as a relative. After informing her the person wasn't related and we had no idea who it was (this was easy, the name was Chinese, and we simply don't know any Chinese people), Helen was very polite and thanked me for calling.
After checking on SCI (what the phone picks up as), I saw it was a collections agency.
I'm sure they can be a burden to people, but, assuming the person they are calling is the person who shirked a debt, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to attempt to collect on it. That IS a hardship on people who have lost jobs, etc, but that's not the creditor's fault. From my experience with just this one phone call, I didn't get anything like what I've seen described here (rudeness, etc). I wasn't even pressured to give my name. - Anonymous 9 replies to MagicmoIt is a collection agency.
It is amazing to me that people are so gullible.
These people call me out of the blue. Never heard of them before. Have no idea who they are. Never got anything in writing.
He literally said "I'm calling on behalf of B of A and need to collect the $1,345 you owe. So if you'll give me a credit card number we can finish this up quickly."
Are you people stupid???? Somebody calls you out of the blue and you merely pay him? You peoples is nuts.
I've told all of these people unless I have something in writing from A) the credit card company authorizing them to speak on their behalf and B) something in writing from these clowns I won't even listen to thjeir phone calls.
Why would you do anything different? How about you pay this guy and then B of A calls and says they want $1,345?
"What? I just paid XYZ company." Show proof you paid. What is their address? etc.
BTW, always call back on a pay phone. You call back on your own phone they have caller ID.
This guy also told me I would go to "debtor's prision" and my children would have to pay or they would join me.
These people lie, cheat, commit fraud probably beat their wives and molest their children.
They say they will garnish my wages. I'm unemployed. We'll freeze your bank account. Don't have one. Well we'll keep adding fees and charges. Go ahead and put a nice tip on there for yourself.
Take back control. Everything is negotiable. Credit cards are the villains now. They made $18 Billion last year in FEES and PENALTIES. It is their bottom line.
