2nd call saying it was countrywide home loans and to call them back with my loan number. (I do not have a loan.)
A few hours ago they left a message-- I didn't catch the first part, just the last part stating I should call this toll free number with my account number. Just so happends we do have a Countrywide loan, and the call had something to do with their converting their loans to Bank of America (I may have read recently that BOA bought out Countrywide). I'll do more reserach. Their customer service dept was closed for the night, so I'll research mroe tomorrow.
I am certain that this is a fraudulent number. I also received a call from this number, saying it is a Country Wide Phone number and when i called back after going through a number of voice messages, when i did not give any personal information, i got a busy tone and hung up.
the number 1-800-604-8630 is NOT a countrywide phone number
This is a payment processor for Countrywide (CW). They get a list of late payments and call to get them processed by credit card, check by phone and they get a commission from CW.
Since activating my phone number a week ago, I've received no less than 8 calls from this number. I do not have a loan with country wide, or any reason why they would have my number. Same thing as above-- they leave a message saying that the call" is not a solicitation." When I've tried to call back, it connects with an automated answering service that asks for a social security number. Seems pretty sketchy.
I have received the same call my caller id shows the call coming from 1-805-955-9739. When I call them back at 1-805-955-9739 it's an IVR stating they are the HOME RETENTION TEAM A DEBIT COLLECTOR (in 8 years currently i have never been past due or missed a payment on any of my home payments so why is a collector calling???)
This is concerning If anyone talks to them I would advise you to ask them to remove you from any calling list and DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT YOU OR YOUR ACCOUNTS. If they state they can't start getting names and address from where they are calling from and report them to you local authorities or news teams..
I also rec'd a call--at first it was in spanish so I was about to hang up when it went to english stating it was Country Wide and that it wasn't a solicitation and to call back. We just bought a house and our mortgage is with them but I know that we a current on our payments--I was curious about the call, I called the # but gave no personal info and I could never get a person. Glad to see other postings regarding this number!
Received call from 800 604-8630 about 8:20 am on a Saturday morning. My answering machine picked up. Said it was from Countrywide calling about my loan and to call back with my account number. I do have a Countrywide loan but was very suspicious as I am current. I googled this site and saw that the number appears to be fraudulent so didn't bother to return the call. Postings like these really help.

Multiple calls from "Countrywide" regarding my home loan. I don't have a loan with Countrywide. Called back & got a message asking for my SSN. Seems like a SSN stealing scam.
I get a recorded message that claims to be from a Country Wide collection agent with no way to speak with a "human". If you call back you need an account number to speak with a representative. I get 3-4 calls a week. It is on my business line. I do not have any type of loan with Country Wide. Today,I called back for the heck of it and punched in a bunch of 9s and was able to get a fax number 805-520-5019. This fax number is a legitimate number for Country Wide. I sent a fax and asked them to remove my number from their call list.
I have recieved numerous phone calls from this number!!! We have a loan with country wide so I called the company directly and they informed me it was scam. I just cant take the calls anymore!! They call 3 times a day everyday!!!!! Does anyone knwo how long they last.... It's been 2 months

I have been receiving calls from the 1-800-604-8630 number for 4 weeks...originally a human at the end of the phone asking for someone that did not live here, but he insisted he talk to her...then after that a recording asking for my zip code...the recording then stated that the zip code does not match the residence and that I should call the above number...when I called it I got a mechanical noise so I hung up.
I do have Countrywide but I am current so I don't understand this. It has to be fraudulent.
My NY boyfriend called them back and made them tell him where they were calling from...of course it was India...they are hooked to a company called Recon Trust...they handle all of refinancing for Countrywide. We told them to take us off the call list...you can also fax them at 1-805-520-5019...Remember if you have been with Countrywide for a long time and have a low interest rate they will do anything to get you to refinance or reneg on your loan because they aren't making any money off of you.
You can also send them a letter at SU_314B p.o. BOX 5170 Simi Valley, California 93062-5170
I received a call today from 1-800-669-0102 and it was an automated attendant that said something along the lines of
This is a call from Bank of America Home Loans. Press one if you know your home loan number (unsure of this wording exactly) and (in Spanish) Press Two for Spanish (or something). I did nothing and then the auto attendant told me to call Bank of America back at 800-604-8630 and this is not a solicitation call.
I had a Taylor Bean Whitaker loan, just got it in January 2009 and I just found out that they went belly up or something and B Of A bought out their home loans.
However, B of A told me on the phone (previously) that they would mail me something in two weeks with my new loan info. I haven't received that mail yet.
I am not calling this number back. It's likely that someone has pulled the tax assessors records, found out which loans are banks who have this situation and hey are trying to use this info to gather information illegally. Sounds like a total opportunist scam.
Yep....same thing for me - Bank of America, but it's "not a solicitation." Grrrrr. Obviously, I'm not giving out any info....but how do I get the calls to stop? I don't have a home loan through B of A!!!
