Left a threating message

I did call the number back to see what it was all about.  The woman was confusing on the phone asking me if I was Kathy, when I said no she wanted my name.  When I wouldn't give my name and asked to speak to Max Nelso which is the name that was left on my answering machine, she said he was in a meeting.  She got very rude on the phone stating that she would run my number to see who she was taking to, and "if you want to waist my time..."  I hung up on her.  Will let you know if they call back!

I got the same recording. I didn't call back.
"Don't hang up, this is an important message, not a solicitation. Files in my office are linked with this phone number, and I need a return call as soon as possible to discuss an urgent matter. My name is Max Nelson my number is 800-609-1144 x105."

Just got the same message.....anybody know what these rude people are calling about?

someone from this number keeps calling me. everytime i call them back i have to leave a message and i can barely understand their messages, they talk so fast that i can barely catch the number. i left a message for them to call me back tomorrow and if they think they can get rude or obnoxious with me then they have no clue what they are in for. if i get so much as a rude tone from them i will become 10x worse then what they are giving me, in other words they wont just think twice about calling my number again, they will think a good 4 or 5 times about calling me again.

Just got a call from this number.  I don't know how they got my home phone number because I haven't even given it out yet.  I don't know why anyone would be calling me or my wife about an urgent matter with a file number to call back on.  Sounds very scary!  We called the number back with the extension after hours and got a totally different person voicemail.  Sounds fishy!

I received a very threatening message today from this number stating that I better not hang up as the computer is linked to my phone number. I was to return a call to Max Nelson at the above number extension 105. I tried to call back and of course the office is "closed" I am tried of this number coming across 3 or more times a day and even on SUNDAY!

same deal hear..max nelson multiple times a day.. does anyone know why thei actually calling?

I just got the same phone call with the same message.  When I attempted to return the call, I, of course, got the message that it was after hours...The message was left in an extremely threatening tone and gave no additional information pertaining to the alleged debt.

CCS is a debt collection company out of Bedford, TX.  (That's in between Dallas and Ft. Worth).  They are located in a 2 story white building just North of the intersection of Harwood Road and Brown Trail.  Derek Beard and Jason Curry are real people...their just doing their jobs.  Those extensions are their #s to their VM.  As far as Max Nelson, I'm not so sure...never heard of him.  
WHY THEY ARE CALLING...
CCS buys old debt.  If you have ever had one of the following types of accounts and defaulted, that's probably why they are calling you.
Home Depot credit card
Dillards credit card
HSBC card/personal loan
TOTAL card VISA cc (you get it online...they charge you $200 in fees and have $50 avail when you get the card, you have to pay the $250 to use it again)
Circuit City credit card
(and a few others...)

They will probably say something along the lines of 'litigation' 'law suit' etc.  They WILL sue, but only if it's worth their while.  They won't sue on Total card accounts.  
They are pre-litigation, and WILL garnish wages, attach leins to homestead props, etc in certain states.

you can't garnish wages for debt in texas, you can hold judgement for a small amount of time  They also can't preach the law to you in texas its against the law unless they are attorneys themselves calling you!

Ok, so I got the same call yesterday from a 'Doug Perkins"  at 1-800-609-1144 who was extremely rude to me on the phone and didn't believe a damn thing I said. He wasn't even calling for me! He was calling looking for an ex-boyfriend of mine (broken up over 8 months earlier). Even more so, he was calling at my PARENTS house (a house which my ex NEVER lived in or EVER received phone calls at - so I don't understand why they would've been calling my parents home in the 1st place or how they even got the number!!!). When I told Mr. Perkins that the person he was calling for was an ex and that he never lived here, he basically flat out called me a liar and proceeded to leave me his # to give to the ex. Needless to say, I am extremely upset! Glad I found this website & know who was calling.

They are a debt collector of old accounts they bought.
Owners are William Charles Edwards and his wife Susan Walton Edwards.
He is about 53, she is about 47 years old.

Edwards will say he follows the law but allows the collectors to do whatever they need to bring in the money. He has been sued and paid off rather than go to trial.

They report to the credit bureaus, have insurance to pay lawsuits so if you can nail them, he will pay.

I got a call today, woke me from a sorely needed nap, demanded a number for family member. Pre-legal matter. Cannot discuss it with you. ???

Some guy named Derek Veard.

I'm sorry this just doesn't ring true. The person said they would remove our number from the contact list. We'll see.
