Claiming to be a debt collection agency, they threatened to repossess my car, which is fully paid off, thus an extortion threat.

I call the number back and its a recorded message. The first thing it says is, if you are 'so and so' push one, in doing so, it says I owe 36 dollars to blockbuster. Then it says push 1 to put in a credit card #. My guess it's a phishing scam.

Received several calls on my daughter's cell phone from 800-613-1802 - National Action Financial Services asking for Jason M. Wilmut  reference #1900 that owes 39.99 to Blockbuster.   When calling back I only got a recorded message and could NOT speak to anyone to let them know we do NOT know this person and to stop calling.    Well NAFS leave a phone # that actually has a person to speak to or STOP calling!!!!

They keep calling to get $50 bucks from me for some movies I returned late. Never received a bill from blockbuster, they just sent it straight to these clowns. What ever happened to the whole "no late fees" thing? I didn't get the memo, and they can bite me if they think I'm going to pay more than the purchase price for movies that I have already returned. The thing is, blockbuster changed their policy on late fees to rape people out of a few extra dollars each time they rent a movie. Its not right and I hope that they collapse because of their ill witted practices.

I'm annoyed because this number calls me about once a month, early in the morning, and wakes me up.  They use my brother's name, whose account I used once to rent movies at Blockbuster (and made the stupid mistake of giving Blockbuster my real number when they asked).  Blockbuster is lame for giving out numbers to this place (legit or not) and I will never rent from them again because of it.

omg, the same thing with me, that lame blockbuster with that bogus no late fee crap.  I just got a stupid letter from them as well out of the clear blue about $14 I owe for a late fees??  I didn't even get a bill or phone call from blockbuster themselves.  They are trying anything they possibly can to stay open since no one hardly rent videos anymore!  They were one of 9 companies that was listed that may go under in 2009!  One can only hope!

These Idiots!!! I am the only one that rents on my account, the latest I have ever been with a return has been 2 days. This was about 10 rentals before I stopped using them for raising their fees but mostly because EVERY time I went in there, they gave me a beat down to join their "new" VIP club (or whatever!). The first time they offered, I ponied up the $19.99 to enjoy my "freebies". Everytime I tried to use one of these benefits, there was an argument that always envolved getting a 16 yr. old manager involved. A month later was when my plan was no longer valid as they had a "new program, that was better than anything ever offered in the home entertainment arena". I could not walk in the door to browse without being approached 3 times...I would say no to the first Bozo...a couple minutes after, another would take a go at me...when I denied again, they would send their "closer" to really beg for my $$ upon check out / leaving. This was a neighborhood store, where everyone knew everyone and they all knew I was so Pi**ed about being ripped off on the first special deal, that I would say "no...please don't even start that bs...ever!!!" before they even opened their mouth. I started to think they were joking until they started working on my fiance & her daughters...I just about got myself arrested & decided I would NEVER...EVER step foot in a Blockbuster store again. A couple months later these calls start coming in, 2 a day sometime. Usually at 7am and 8:30 - 9:30pm!!! They should be fined at a minimum for their un-ethical biz practices, you could not pay me enough to bug (beg) honest, hard working folks for their money time after time. No wonder they are going down the crapper...Thank God for Redbox!!!!

I've been getting these calls for about 3 months now and twice a month on each Monday morning at around 7:30am.  When answered I only get an automated message and when trying to call back it goes right to a voicemail.  The National Action Financial Services, which I've tried to reach from numerous numbers, will never answer.  I've never been inside a Blockbuster for the fee I apparently owe, and the Blockbuster on file has -no reference- to any of my information.  I rent from Red Box or Netflix, case closed.  Also, checked my credit and not even a smudge from NAFS, nor any outstanding balance with Blockbuster.  These people are a sham, unfortunately its a sham that won't go away until I change my number.

The call once a day, everyday, around 8am.  It's never a live person.  I can either answer and get a recorded message, or not answer and get a recorded message on my voicemail.  When I call back the number, there is no option to talk to a live person.  There is no option to have my number removed.  In fact the only options are press #1 if you are so and so ... And that's it.  There is no other option.  You are supposed to hang up if you are not that person just to be called the next morning.

I got that same number too, it calls me way early in the morning saying i own them $60 for blockbuster. I knew it was crap and fake! But don't put your # to them. Now that they have your number and it not safe. Change your number so something. That was not cool to do.

    Harrassed person in SC
I got calls on my cell phone from this number at least once day while I'm at work, in meetings, etc.  There's no person to talk to, just an automated message that I owe $10 and change to blockbuster and wanting me to enter my credit card info.  The name is not mine and I haven't had a blockbuster account in about 15 years after a dispute about a late fee. There was a fee, but they reported it to my credit and there's no way I'll pay it now to a company who "doesn't charge late fees".  Obviously, Blockbuster made some money by selling off some old lists of customers to a collection agency or some other scam artist, although I still don't know how they got this number since I didn't have it when I had the account.  The funny thing is that I added this # to my contact list and wrote Ignore in front of it and changed it to not ring.  Now I'm getting the same exact calls from a 404 area code.  I pray that Blockbuster folds, but am not sure the calls will end even then.  It's illegal for creditors to harrass at work, but only if you're able to file a complaint to the company and since there's no real person... Looks like I'm going to add a bunch of new "ignore" contacts to my cell phone just to have peace.

This company keeps calling about another person and a Blockbuster amount owed. I am sick of all the early morning phone calls. Can we not do anything about this scam?
