yes its real and its a good organization

No it isn't real. It is a scam. What they are more interested in doing is fattening their bank account. Very few of the fund get dispersed. This is that same outfit that just a year or so ago, was supposedly giving  10,000 dollars to the widows of police officers killed in the line of duty. They have just changed their name to continue the scam.

caller didn't speak...

As soon as I answered, the caller hung up.

It's a scam. Their information they give on the phone is inaccurate. They always claim the individual they are speaking with has given in the past. I have never given to this organization or another like it. They say I have given at least $50 every year. Any charity will take whatever you can give if they are ligit. This place says they can't take less than $15 - $20.

I am sick of these people calling and when I answer they hang up. When they call again I am letting it ring.

They tried the same thing with me...Suggested I had donated in the past...
but the thing that got me was how rude the caller was!!

I told him we would not be donating and why and I got "But it's just $10 for the kids" then I told him I belong to an organization where our donation money goes and we volunteer all year long and he got snippy and told me THIS was all year long too...
If they were such a great organization as one person posted then why doesn't the BBB of TN have sufficient information about them?

I answered...they hung up.  They don't leave messages if the answering machine picks up either.  And we are ALSO on the "do not call list" and we ALSO have never donated to their organization.

I get a call from this number at least 10 times a week  and they always hang up, and if I try to call back they never pick up do not answer the phone if this number comes up

They have nothing to do with the police or any legitimate charity.  They will even pretend to be police officers.  They are not.  Little to no money ever goes anywhere except their pockets.  Additionally, they get very nasty on the phone if you challenge them.  Hang up!

We get phone calls from this number several times a day every week.  We've told the caller that we're not interested in making donations but he insists on continuing his sales pitch.  We've hung up on the caller.

We are on the "DO NOT CALL" list and I don't appreciate organizations calling asking for money; especially on Sunday at 2:35 P.M.!  There should be a law against these people calling on Sunday!  I don't want their calls anytime!

We have caller I.D. and I did not answer the call and will never answer their calls so they are wasting their time!

1. No-call list does not apply to legitimate charities;
2. Whoever is calling you will probably not read your post here; ask them to take your name off their list the next time they call.
3. If they are a scam, they're probably not going to pay any attention to the no-call list, or to your request to remove your number.
4. They call on Sunday because that's the day the greatest numbers of people are likely to be home.

No-call does not apply to legitimate charities; if they're crooks, they're not going to pay attention to the no-call legislation anyway.

That number called me a few minutes ago and asked for Brenda, I told them that no Brenda lives here and the guy said, "okay, i'll call back later" I was like no, don't call back but he hung up before I could tell him not to call back and so I called the number back and it rang and rang until a recording said that there was no one available to take my call at this time please call back later and it hung up.
