I have received these faxes since October from an inquiry I did on Health insurance on the internet.  In Dec I called and signed up a member of my family.  Affordable Health Care is not accepting my calls. I have gotten a message the number is temporarily unavailable.  I think they have taken an electronic withdrawal from my checking account using Nabsa as the name.  I have not received an insurance packet.

I closed my checking account to keep them from withdrawing any more. I faxed and emailed Consolidated Workers Association to cancell the policy.  The fax number I used was 909 287 0768.  The e mail address I used is nabsa@cbmtpa.com  Today I did receive a check for my $324 from Claims & Benefit Management, Inc. DBA Claims Management Service located in Chino, CA....Who knows how many names they go by.  I had contacted the Consumers Protection Division of my State's Office of Insurance and requested that they be checked out to see if they are licensed to do business in Kentucky.  Integrated Health Benefits 800 559 9846 is another connection to these folks.  Somewhere in the circle I picked up the policy had to be cancelled within 30 days for a refund....Good Luck.

I faxed and emailed letter to fax number and email address given in my Feb 13 message.  This had to be done within 30 days.  If your sister and brother in law have not received any information - as far as they are concerned they have never had coverage.  Give the letter and email a try. Tell them to contact their state attorney's consumers office, state dept of insurance and anyone else they can think of!

Consolidated Workers Association is currently under investigated by SEVERAL different states.  They have already been issued immediate "Cease and Desist" orders from at least 2 states, Utah and Delaware. Contact your states Insurance Commisioners office or your states Insurance Fraud Division they can help.  If there is a "Cease and Desist" order in effect in your state any money taken from your bank is a fraudulent charge, inform your bank and dispute the charge.

I signed up for this plan today to start May 1, 2008. they were suppose to withdraw funds on April 15,2008. the 800 number I was given on the fax was 1-800-383-1305. I was told it was called Consolidated workers association and that the underwriting insurance company was ACE, usa in Philadelphia. Pa. I can't find that aCE is doing business in CA. So I will call the dept of insuracne in ca to see if this is legit. I was told they use the beech street network. ?and I spoke to a ben brown in Scottsdale arizona. If this is a scam I will report to my insurance company.

Karen,
Everything with these people is a scam--get out now. They got me for over $1,022.00 and facing more than $400.00 in doctor bills that are not being paid. They are under investigation in Arizona-and I am trying to close them down by sending all my info to AZ police, BBB, AZ insurance commissioner, NJ insurance commissiner (their home office), etc.
Get out now!!! Close your bank account too!!!

I am having the same problem.  I signed up with this insurance thinking that it was legitimate.  However, when I called them the number was disconnected.  I called Beech Street coorporation because their number was attached to the insurance card.  Beech Street told me that CWA is fradulent and has been using their name without authorization.  I called my bank and stopped payments.  I also made a police report about it.  The police told me that CWA was probably fradulent company that shut down shop, and that is why their numbers don't work.  If anyone can give me information on how to get my money back please let me know.  Good luck everyone.

Contact your states Insurance Commissioners office or your state Insurance Fraud Division.  If there is a "Cease and Desist" order in place in your state, any money taken from you is considered a fraudulent charge.  Contact your bank, dispute the charge, you should get it back.

Response to karen This is a group plan through the association.
an individual joins the assoc to get access to insurance benefits.
the underwriter is aceusa.com they are licensed in all 50 states.
However we are not selling an individual plan, just membership in
our association.please do your homework before making internet reports
before you even get the paperwork.I find your remarks offensive
and not even true or accurate this plan is an affordable plan at 199.00
mon. for people that have no insurance or can't afford a major medical
from blue cross/ or have preexisting conditions that they would not
qualify for. Yours truley Ben B.

So, from what you are saying, this association is legitaimate.  Can you give us some contact information with this "legitimate" association.  All of the numbers that they provided me, " a member", doesn't work.  Another thing that I find strange about this "legitimate" association is that Beech Street, a company that this association says they are affiliated with, is denying any association.  For anyone who wants to check it out go to beechstreet.com

Write them a letter threatening to sue under the Federal Consumer Protection Act 47 USC Section 227 and the FCC regulations promulgated under the statute.  The statute provides for a minimum of $500 for each unsolicited fax.  Demand $500 per fax. (triple that if it was sent knowingly.  Since faxes do not spontaneously occur, you are likely to get the 500 with the threat of suit).
