Hmm Just got a call too I could barely understand them, something about a "infection" on my brand new computer i do have a dell, but i doubt it, it should be called a "virus" but he said no no an infection, i said from where what website, he aid ill call you later to guide you...weird! i wonder if its a scam...

It a scam! I have the same thing happen to me. He hacked into my computer! I was half way and had a feeling it was weird they call me out of the blue, I told him I'll have to go and call him later. He calls himself Daniel. I called Dell and they said they don't know that number. Don't fall for it!

They has been calling all week. Today for example the called four times.  never left message.

Received call today and a couple of days ago. Male with what sounds like an Indian accent claimed to be calling from Dell. Sounded an awful lot like a Dell tech who was unable to resolve a computer issue I had a couple years ago. Scam and possible theft of personally identifiable customer by either former Dell employee or contractor. FWIW, I did try to call back but got a recording stating the number was outside my calling area. Overseas scam. Another reason U.S. companies need to stop outsourcing our jobs.

I got. A call nearly fell for it contacted fraud protection

They called me asking for my dad. When I asked who it was, they hung up. I blocked the number.

got a call close to 10 times in 3 weeks. person hang up.

Scam Dell guy.  Hung up when he knew I didn't have a Dell computer to hack into.

Dude called a few times. I finally answered. He not only knows what kind of computer I have, he even has the service tag number! Said my computer was downloading something "infectious" and it was visible on their system and could possibly do damage to other computers on my network. I told him I didn't have the computer in front of me and to call back. He never did. I knew it was bogus. That particular computer is not in use, so it's been wiped, shut down, is in a box, and locked in a cabinet. WTF? This guy is totally a Dell ex-employee from India or something with some old data that he's trying to exploit. Watch out.

Called constantly all day I answered they hung up

I get a call from numbers such as this about twice a month. Each time from the same person. I keep asking him what the MAC address is of the computer that supposedly has this virus as I have 6 Dell computers. (I only have 2). He keeps telling me my computer has a an infection and to log on and go to a website. I keep telling him I need more information to narrow down which computer it is such as the MAC Address or IP address. If they are actually getting a report saying my computer is infected, it has to have some identifying information to track it to me.

I have received two calls from this number this morning. They were both hangup calls.

Has now called dozens of times, cannot call back it is blocked and goes to a busy signal.

It is a scam.  They want you to install their virus scan software, which is actually going to end up infecting your system.

Dell computer??? Pl. stop, stop, stop!

Called at 12:30 this afternoon.  I was not home to take the call (not that I would have answered TOLL FREE CALL).   Thanks to those who posted, I can block this one, too.

Have been receiving multiple calls from this number. Picked up call once, as reported by other users, they say my Dell computer is sending them data.

SCAM...NOT A DELL TECH!  I've received calls from this [***] before, and NO -- IT IS NOT DELL ( I know this cuz I called THE REAL DELL TECH SUPPORT and they said they've had MANY, MANY CALLS regarding this SCAM!)  DO NOT FALL PREY TO THESE SCUMBAGS!!  Block.............BLOCK............BLOCK the call/number!!
