I just got something in the mail from a "company" named Automotive Professional Resources.
They are trying to sell me an extended warranty on my car.

A google search on that name returns a marketing company, not  what I expected.

I received also received something in the mail from a 'company' named Automotive Professional Resources trying to sell an extended warranty on my car.  It indicated this was the 2nd notice to make it seem urgent.  It seemed like a scam.  I'm not trusting any company selling warranty for my car other than from the Honda dealership/corporation itself.

My wife received a very deceptive "2nd Notice" from Automotive Professional Resources that looked like an official notice, saying that her service contact was expiring and that she needs to buy extended protection coverage before the expiration.

The letter had a "Warning of $2,000 fine and 5 years imprisonment or both for interfering or obstructing with the delivery of this letter, they cited a US mail code " On the phone call they were very misleading, they tried to scam her into buying extended warranty.

They trick unsuspecting people to pay them over the phone for a service when they don't want to give you information about themselves. Do not fall into their trap.

Digging deeper, Automotive Professional Resources (APR) is related to a small, highly mobile insurance company that has little in assets and is technically bankrupt. Here is the link....if you go through the information, you can make your own judgement.  Meantime don't waste time or money on
    APR.

Wow just got the notice and I thought it was something bad as I saw the $2,000 fine message on the front. Reading all of your comments has helped a lot.  I am in need of an extended warranty. I'm glad I looked them up first!!! Thanks everyone

I rec'd this fake 2nd notice also, I called then just for fun. They told me that due to "semantics" in California, they must supply a product to go with their services. So, I can get ONE QUART of Protector 5 Enhanced for only $3640.00 and my 04 Accord is covered from bumper to bumper for 5 years. They even transferred me to a "risk analysis" expert who asked me if the car ran OK, and if any major components had been replaced. Luckily I qualified for this great deal. I was sent back to Amy the rep and I told her I wanted to proceed but slowly. I explained to her that a quart is 946 milliliters and at $3640 a quart, so for now I just want one milliliter, and 100 miles protection and that I'd send $3.85 immediately as soon as I got their address. I don't know why, but she hung up........

I just received this same mailer, i.e., "REQUEST FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION - TIME SENSITIVE MATERIAL ENCLOSED - Warning - $2,000 FINE, 5 YEARS IMPRISONMENT, OR BOTH FO RANY PERSON INTERFERING OR OBSTRUCTING WITH DELIVERY OF THIS LETTER.  U.S. MAIL TTT.18.U.S. CODE."

For starters, I don't own a Chrysler (this mailer claims I own a Chrysler Town And Country vehicle.  Additionally, these guys are using my MAIDEN name.  I don't use my maiden name, so am wondering how in the world, they know it.

The other extremely odd issue with this mailer is that several weeks ago, I received in the mail an envelope, addressed to me using my maiden name (letter was handwritten); there was NO postmark and NO return address - just a stamp.  When I opened the envelope, all that it contained was a huge newspaper flyer, regarding a Chrysler dealership in Pleasanton, CA.  The flyer was a sales pitch for this particular dealership.

Anyone else receive anything similar to this in the mail?  I'm just wondering if the two are connected,

I just got this notice too and I called in to see what this was about.  While on the phone they were trying to  sell me a 5 year warranty so quickly "googled" Automotive Professional Resources and found all these comments.  Thank you so much for the help!  I asked if they were a Toyota company and they said they were but I told them I had already bought the extended warranty from Toyota that aws bummer to bummer.  They thanked me quickly and then hung up.

I too received 2nd notice letter for extended automotive coverage for a 2008 Ford Explorer, even though I have never owned a Ford or even a car newer than 2000.

I have reason to suspect that Automotive Professional Resources got my info from Sirius XM. A couple years ago I found a good deal for a satellite radio and for some reason I wasn't able to sign up for it online. I called in and the CSR was able to get me the deal by putting on my account that I had bought a new Ford. I thought nothing of it at the time yet every now and then I receive an invite to reactivate the radio in my Ford at some greatly reduced rate.

I also received the same notice. Looked very suspicious because there's no address or name of a person listed. Glad I looked it up. Don't fall into the scam!

I got the same mailer. Please call them and ask where they got your information from and ask to be removed from mailing and calling list. It is a violation of federal law if they do not.

I did not receive a call but I received a mailer with this phone number.  the mailer was a "2nd Attempt" notice that my automobile extended warranty was about to expire and gave this phone number to continue protection.  There was a statement on the outside of the mailer "WARNING;  $2,000 FINE, 5 YEARS IMPRISONMENT, OR BOTH FOR ANY PERSONS INTERFERING OR OBSTRUCTING WITH DELIVERY OF THIS LETTER.  U.S. MAIL TTT.18US.CODE. When I called, the phone was answered by an obvious salesman as he said all the usual sales pitch bull....later identified himself as "Burt Williams, Jr."  He gave me some information that sounded legitimate, excpept for the wrong expiration date on my factory extended warranty. He then put me on the phone with "Lee" in the authorizatization dept who gave me more details about the plan, which again sounded very legitimate, until he said I had to accept or decline at the end of the phone call.  Then the salesman came back on the phone and I told him I had to think about the offer and speak with my husband, to which he made some lame comment about how his wife makes all the decisions in his house and he thought I was the type of wife who should do that too.  I did not give hime any payment information.  He said he would call me before he left at the end of the day as the offer would expire and I never heard from him.

    This is very helpful.

I also receive the same "2nd Attempt" mail and wondered when did I even get the 1st Attempt. They obviously target car owners whose car warranty has expired or is about to expire. Most new car you buy at the dealership now give either 3 or 5 year (or equivalent mileages) extended warranty so it is not hard to figure out who they can target scam mails to. I am also glad I looked this up.

    Thanks.

Got the same from the mail. Spoke to Quinton and was connected to another person then back to Quinton. I put him on hold as I discussed this matter with my husband who told me to tell Quinton to call as back because we need to discuss further. Quinton said he can wait the whole day. I told him to call as back. He then started offering me discounts that will expire if he calls me back. My husband was firm on letting him call us back. I googled this company and saw all the comments from this site. Thank you, so much because we were about to fall into this scam. I also called my dealership who told me that they only honor their own warranty.

Mail came from AUTOMOTIVE PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES 1 800 639 9440.

Yep, we just got the same "2nd Attempt" notice. I immediately thought all the stuff about the $2000 fine was overkill and hokey. Ha! Had to look them up and all I could find was this!  No website, nothing except this.

    Bingo - that's it!

I couldn't figure out how these scammers from Automotive Professional Resources at 800-639-9440 until I read your post.

My Acura TL is registered in another state and not even in my personal name.  But the XM Radio service was in my personal name, linked to the car (obviously) and was billed to my credit card with a billing address in California.

I don't know who's worse - XM Radio or the scammer - but appreciate the link!
