Called. Left a message stating that they needed to update our Humana contract information for their online directory and to call back as soon as possible. Left a reference number.

Since the phone number they called was to a doctor's office and we just changed our contracts, I called Humana Provider Relations who stated this was a phishing company and this had nothing to do with our contract and whenever they needed to update their directory they would do it via the website all doctors do their credentialing at.

Definitely a scam.

we are a home health agency number came up on caller ID as unavailable I was on another line so didn't answer they left a message saying they were from American Eldercare (who we have a contract with) and they needed information they left the call back number and a reference number, in a very heavy accent I could hardly understand her. when I called back it plays music then goes to voicemail and says I have reached Humana of Tricare, in a very heavy accent as well. The voicemail box is full and you cant leave any messages. I don't think this is a legit company/number.

This is one of many numbers that call us weekly to try to get us to give out demographic information on our providers.  They say they are with Humana.  Humana says differently.  These people are list-builders.  Evidently in India a hot market is compiling lists of physician data to sell.  Presumably for ID theft case building, but who knows.  The latest trick:  when you block the 800 number in your telephone, they try again by putting a 1 in front if the 800.  So you end up having to block two numbers.  And then watch as they cycle through countless other numbers instead.

We received a call from these scammers as well. The real Humana was unaware of issue. Do not provide them with any info!!

I just got a call from this number stating they are from United Healthcare and needed to verify the practice's demographic information.  We have a contract with them but I would not verify our provider's names, only the address which they already had.

Got numerous calls from this number, always the same fellow with an east Indian accent, and each time claiming to be from another insurance company.  I finally called him on it, after 3 calls in one day from allegedly 3 different companies; now it's a woman and I just told her if she was working for who she said she was, she had the contact info for the person who handles their contract and to please not call us again, since we wouldn't be able to forward her, since our hospital deals with about 35 different insurance companies.  My supervisor just said the next time someone calls looking for "demographic information" or from an insurance company to just say they've been mis-directed and hang up on them.  Whew.

I just got a call from this #. A man with a very heavy Indian accent calling asking for W-9 to be sent to them to update information. I advised since we have a contract with Humana and if that they would have that information already,but I would cal them directly to see what they needed. He gave me a fax # 866 543 2592   Its definite a scam  beware!!

This guy "Mike" is calling me every day saying he is from Humana and asking for my Tax ID number.  Never give your tax ID number to anyone who calls you.  In many years as a health care provider, I have learned that the insurance companies never call to get information on a claim.  They deny the claim and wait for you to call them.

They are still at it after all these years! They say they are from Humana and they are not. We dropped Humana 5 years ago because of their reimbursement. We don’t have a contract with Humana and I refuse to give any info.

Said they were from Humana verifying our information & gave me some information for someone in New Jersey. Have called on 2 different phone numbers. Humana has our information. Refused to give out information. This is a scam.

same as all of the above. Keep getting calls from this number requesting to update my demographics as a health care provider. The caller has an extremely heavy accent that's very hard to understand. They claim they are calling from Humana and the leave a reference number.

18006416403 left a message relaying it was Humana wanted to update demographics. Not real I had just done this with Humana all by email with specialized form they dont do that by phone.
