I have been called by this number several times in the last few days.  I know the numbers of my student loan companies by heart, and this is not one of them.  Does anyone have any info?

When I receive a call from this number, there is no live person. Music plays, then a recording says that if I am not able to hold call 1-800-642-6323. Eventually the call get disconnected, without ever speaking to a person.

    just me
This number has been phoning me a few times a day for the last two weeks. I never answer, and they never leave a message on my answering machine. Oddly enough, I DO deal with PNC Bank, but I'm definitely not late on my payments or anything, so I figure if it's important, they can leave a message. I'm on a do not call list, and this type of thing irritates me.

I just got my second call from a number marked private, but then the opening 4 bars of 'Let's Stay Together' plays, and a woman says 'Sorry to keep you waiting. If you are unable to hold, please return our call at 1-800-642-6323'. I'm now calling the number from a fairly anonymous business number. It's the 'Loan Servicing Area'. I pushed the button that said it was in response to receiving a call or letter. Then I waited. Then it hung up on me. This is probably the phone equivalent of spam. They just want to know that your number is a valid number before they sell it. My guess is that anybody that doesn't block caller ID when they call this number starts getting crazy junk calls all the time. Best of luck.

800 642-6323 is PNC Bank. We owe them nothing yet they keep calling and calling. I urge everyone that is being harrassed by them to call the CEO James E Rohr at the PNC bank and tell him to stop his company from harrassing people via telephone. see how he likes it. Here is Mr Rohrs telephone # 412-762-2000 or toll free at 877-762-2000.  tell them what they are doing and tell them to stop. You could also email them at corporate.communications@pnc.com

Here are some more corporate people to "contact"  Brian Goerke 412-762-4550  or William Callahan 412-762-8257  investor relations. Im sure they want to "hear" about what their bank is doing to its 25 million customers.

Other people to contact are Joe guyaux- Pres.   Bill Demchak, Vice Chairman     and  Richard j. Johnson CFO  Why let them sleep and work quietly when the rest of us have to constantly pick up their computer generated automated calls.

I am receiving similar calls to this.  Just now, I finally spoke to someone.  They asked for my husband, when I said he wasn't here and what was it in reference to, they told me "personal banking matters."  I told them that I was his wife and was on the account with him and they said they needed his confirmation to speak to me.
After I hung up I realized we got similar calls last year.  They kept speaking to my husband telling him that we had an unpaid loan.  We never even had a loan with PNC.  When we asked for the account number they gave us one that was very similar to our credit line...with the first few digits off, like something they would find on a piece of mail.
We called PNC and they said the phone number was not at all connected with them.  They followed a report so that they would keep an eye on our account.
If you notice they always call off of business hours.  We called once during business hours and it was some sort of water company.
Very strange....I would not call this phone number back...call PNC directly!

Non stop harassing calls all day!! We don't even know who PNC Bank is. When calling the 800 # we're also getting "Loan Servicing Area". Time to *77 to see if that will stop them.

Earlier Today a co-worker was called on his cell phone (work phone) about his account being suspended.  He called the local PNC branch (formerly Bank of Lancaster County) as was told they would put an alert on his account that this was a SCAM call.
Tonight I received a phone call about a personal banking matter from "PNC", since we have only joint accounts it was strange he would not give any information to me.  This phone number is not from PNC...it is a scam where they want you to divulge account information so they can access your account.  GIVE NO INFORMATION.  CALL PNC and report the Call.  I have received many e-mails about my accounts with numerous banks that I have never even dealt with very similar to this call.  REPORT THEM TO THE BANK'S SECURITY DEPARTMENT. These calls are not from a bank, but are random calls and e-mails hoping one in a thousand will result in someone giving them account information!  Banks will never ask for personal information over the phone!  By the way, I asked him if he realized that my Wife worked for PNC bank and he said yes, then hung up!
PNC or any other bank for that matter is not to blame, they in fact are victims.  The SCAM artists and WE as a gullible consumer are. NEVER GIVE ANY PERSONAL OR BANKING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO A PHONE CALL. If you want the calls to stop, tell them you are reporting them!

I also just received a phone call from this number but I didn't stay on longer than it took for me to hear the number. I warned my mom about this, who is also a PNC customer, but I'm curious if it's just PNC customers they are targeting. If she or I receive any more phone calls I will be sure to report it to the bank.

This number belongs to CLC Consumer Services.  They are owned and operated by PNC Bank, and they service accounts for PNC Bank, E*Trade, People's United Bank, Goldman Sachs, DLJ Mortgage, and others.  If they are calling you and leaving a message stating they're from PNC, then it's regarding a PNC loan or credit line.  If the message states CLC, then they are calling regarding a third party loan or credit line account.  They rarely leave messages because federal laws limit the number of times they can call back if they leave a message.

If you receive a call from this number and it, as strange as it sounds, plays Al Green's "Let's Stay Together", then they are calling regarding a charged off checking account (a checking account which has been closed due to carrying a negative balance).

This is a legitimate company and generally they will only ask for your name and address in order to provide you with enough account information to show this to be true.  If you doubt the legitimacy, don't ignore the call, but rather call 888-PNC-BANK and ask to be transferred to their collections department.

I have been getting calls from "unavailable" for a few days. They only call before 8am and after 7pm. This morning these sneaky [***] left me a voice mail claiming to be from PNC Bank, telling me to call them back during wierd business hours. The number the smart-ass left me was 1-800-642-6323 ext 24205. First off, I've been with only ONE bank my entire life and it is not PNC. Secondly, these fools could not even get my name write, calling me Mandee Something-that-does-not-remotely-sound-or-spelled-like-my-last-name.

I too have been getting numerous calls for the last week.   I called the PNC customer service # to check our accounts.   Per the PNC conversation there are NO OUTSTANDING BALANCES.  The very pushy woman at the LOAN SVC AREA (which is how the annoying phone calls have been coming up)however, told me we had a $45 outstanding balance which had to be dealt with today.  She had my husbands name and my name, but asked for our address - which of course I did not give her.  The red flags for me are 1) the numerous times these calls have come in and 2) the urgency over a small amount like $45 and last but not least 3)the pushy sales pitch type nature of the person over the phone.   In addition all this week we have been getting calls showing up on the caller ID from names we don't recognize from exchanges don't recognize.

I have been getting calls from this # which caused me to look onliine to find out who this is... We have a truck loan, definatly not passed due through PNC. They have called today alone 21 times, yesterday it was 8 times, and many days before that over 100 times easy within a month.. no message ever left. I have decided to contact legal council to find out if I can have them charged with harassment to the BBB as well as financial reimbursement for the many minutes on my cell phone account that i am not getting to use because they take 1 min even for incoming of less then a sec no matter what and with well over 100 calls a month that is a huge chunk of my 750 minute plan, that on occassioni have went over by 20-80 minutes which i feel they are directly responisble..
