This number calls constantly. 3-4 times a day the phone rings and we rush to pick up. The caller id says Unavailable so we wait if they leave any message but there aren't any. If there was something important my guess is they would leave a message.
It's HSBC. I'm not even late on my payment. But they keep calling me. I think they want me to enroll in some kind of protection for my credit card. That's probably why they call you.
This number calls us CONSTANTLY. Literally 5 to 8 times PER day! Until as laste as 10:30pm and even on Sunday's. They NEVER leave any messages. We were relieved in a way to learn this is HSBC bank, but disturbed because we have never done any business with them and do not have any credit problems. I think calling more than twice in one day is a violation of privacy laws....
It doesn't matter if you pick up. Tonight I got a call from this number and picked up the phone. I said "Hello?" several times and then they just hung up. I don't see the point of calling constantly if they're not going to talk to me when I answer.
this place called me 10 times today, I have a credit card but not from them and my payment is not due yet. I rush to answer it as they have been calling for the last several days. I also say hello several times and then it goes dead this is driving me crazy as this call is to my cell number so I have to pay for it. really stupid place
It is auto-dialer calling. The will continue to call until you call and tell them REMOVE my number from all auto-dialer campaigns or your actions will be reported to Atty General (state), US ATTY General (federal), and FTC (Federal Trade Commission. If you do not do business with this group, please to place your phone number(s) on National Do Not Call List. Then they will have to pay fines if they violate your solace again! Peace to the People of the Great Nation, USA!!
it want do any good Iv'e try they still call late at night and if they get fine like you said they would go broke .The phone company want them to call that where att get it money from.
Funny thing about this number is it's not even my voice line they are calling. You would think after getting a fax tone in their ears (whatever) they would get the hint.
I think I will have to contact my AG (and they don't like me as it is :) )
It's an auto-dialer. If you wait long enough, and I'm not saying you should, you'll probably be connected to an 'operator' who is either a soft collector, hard collector, or marketer, depending on your situation. HSBC probably doesn't care if you don't know the purpose of the call.
The silent period after you pick up is a delay caused by the auto-dialer's workflow. As soon as an operator became available, it called your number because yours is the next one in the queue. Unfortunately, if the 'operator' takes a break and doesn't tell the software to skip him or her, the workflow software has to wait before sending you to the next available 'operator'. To me, that's a blessing, because I assume it's an auto-dialer when I hear nothing. So, I hang up.
Hopefully, HSBC won't receive any bail-out funds, because I'd hate to see them increase their 'operator' staff and bug the h*ll out of more people. They've called me 5 times a day for the past week, even though I've paid my credit card religiously. Please on't bail them out!
Exactly. I just got this new phone and new number and i get these random calls all the time. The voice goes "we have an important call for you, then there is a small noise, and it cuts you off.
You do realize that if they are calling you after 9:00 PM that that is illegal? If they do it again, get the persons name id and the name of the agency from which they are calling from, then speak to a manager, get their name and ID number. Get an address of where you can send correspondence. I would threaten legal action and a report to the BBB. Create a cease and desist letter and copy it to a legal firm of your choice and to the BBB. If this doesnt stop the calls I don't know what will. But make sure you have documentation of when they called the number that they called from when you include this.
It will do no good-Follow Procedure replies to Heather

What will is contacting proper authorities. Threats schmets. Only little people threaten others. Use the NDNCL, ATTY GENS, and FTC. Why waste time with baseless threats. The BBB has no control over phone calls either. HSBC could care less if they had BBB complaint. What you going to call their mother too?? Get real my American comrades. Now that you have a facist-socialist Presidente, it is time to TAKE ACTION. Stop Whining! Peace to the Great Nation, USA!
You don't know what you're talking about. We did file a complaint against HSBC with the BBB and they DID care that they had a report filed against them. They immediately stopped the calls and wrote us a letter of apology.
I hope you realize your rhetoric is just that...RHETORIC. These insane practices have been happening for many years. So blaming it on a president who has been in office for only 11 months is pointless and idiotic.
Following the procedures set forth by federal law doesn't work, either. I've filed several complaints, but because I don't get detailed information from whoever is on the other line (because they hang up before you can get any such information out of them), the complaints are dropped by the FCC. "Not enough information," they say, even if you provide them the phone number, business name, and date/time of the call. I've NEVER done business with these snakes, and I'm on the NDNC List, too; NOTHING works.
How is calling your phone number a "PRIVACY" issue??? Can they see into your bedroom??? GOOGLE is a great tool! Please to use so you do not sound like foolish American socialist.
These ba$tards call me up to 15 times a day. Like many of you, I don't even bother picking up the phone (I don't pick it up for ANY "Unavailable" type call). I am also, like many of you, a victim of getting these calls even on the weekends. It doesn't matter the day, the calls begin early in the morning and continue until 10:00 at night. No messages, so I'm assuming either the call isn't that important (so why call then??), or more likely it's computer-generated ( I HATE lazy-a** automation!). Here's the kicker: If it IS a credit card company, I don't even HAVE a credit card! I've never owned one in my LIFE! I have no outstanding debts or loans, and nothing on my credit report. I wish I had Call-Block available in my area.
i have had the same problem with this company and i got a solution for it as well because it is harsment i would be glad to give you the imformation you can text me at the hoo at randyt42025
Please share method used to get rid of these calls. I am getting no less than 30 of these calls per day, even on Saturday and Sunday. It is driving me crazy. Thanks
Ana, The best thing you can do at this time is to put all your phone numbers, including cell phone numbers, into the Do Not Call Registry. Once you do that, give it the 30 days they request for this service to take hold. From there, monitor all phone messages, write down all phone numbers give in voice mail, the time the call came in and of course the day/date. Make as many complaints to the Do Not Call Registry as possible. After alot of looking around, this phone number belongs to a place called Card Services. I am assuming that this is a credit card company of some sort. Make sure that you do not have a credit card through this company before filing any complaints. If you do have a card through this company, it might be assumed that they are calling you due to some sort of solicitation or late payments. Always document, document, document. Its the only way to catch them at their own dirty little game. I too am getting phone calls from not only this phone number, but a couple of others and sympathize with you 100%. Good Luck.
We have been recieving these calls non stop latley on our cell phones. Our numbers have been registered twice on the no call list in the past 3 years. Isn't it illegal for soliciators to call when our number is on the no call list?
This number and about 100 other numbers are HSBC's consumer whitelabel credit division.
You might not think that you have an account with HSBC, but if you have a revolving credit account with just about any major retailer in the U.S. you have an account with Household International, the parent company of HSB Consumer Credit.
Some Retailers that 'buy' their credit from HSBC:
BestBuy Target Walmart Neimen Marcus Macys Steinmart FYE
And about 100 others, so no you might not directly know you have a credit account with HSBC, but you actually do!
Report them to who ever you want to, the only way to get rid of this predator is by paying off the debt and canceling the card, even then you won't be safe
I started receiving calls on my cellphone and found these posts. The only thing that I can attribute to this is that I am a few days late on my Orchard Bank credit card to which HSBC is the servicer of the card. Anyone else have the same common factor?? (They don't leave messages either and I have not picked up. I'm going to be making a payment soon and will see if I continue to receive calls from this number.)
The number is HSBC who services a lot of credit cards companies as well as best buy. Even if you keep all your card payments current it will not matter. If you close your card account it will not matter. They say that if you have ever done business with the the companies they service that it states in those lovely contracts that we agree to giving HSBC the right to solicit via the number we provided in the contract. They are legally protected and we have unknowingly given them the right to call us. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. I have simply saved their 800 number and their 713 number that they have been calling me from and blocked those numbers on my phone. That's how I quit getting their calls.

I have never been late on my credit card until recently My Mother passed away and before I left to take care of the funeral arrangements, I forgot to pay my credit card bill, Orchard bank and Now I get phone calls constantley the day i was in the Funeral Parlor they called my cell phone 17 times the day we buried Mom they called 26 times I am mourning you bastards. I was so pissed I threw my cell phone in the lake This is not right they should not be aloud to call like this. Some body needs to do something.
I get an average of 12 calls a day from them. I just opened an account and am awaiting my first statement. They call to get payment before they have even sent a statement out! I am going to pay it off!! Hopefully they will not call anymore.
Be very carefull. This company tries to "sell" you services like shopping discounts, insurance, etc. to "fill" the card so you have no available credit, and they either own all the services they are selling to you or get a percentage. Its a control method so they reap all the benefits of having you as a client plus charging you a ton of interest so you may not be late paying, etc. they are just trying every trick in the book to fill up that card.
They call me everyday from three different numbers. Each number calls 5-7 times a day. It is annoying and it is harrasment. I called to removemy number and after a removed it the machine said it could take up to 60 days to remove it from there system. Thats Bull Shlt
I have been registerd with DO NOT CALL since the beginning. For me, calls from this number just started a few weeks ago. I have not and never have done any business with HSBC. I have no clue why they would call me. I have tried ignoring the number, tried answering it in hopes of telling them to GO AWAY. No one is ever there. I've tried to call them back. But the number must not accept incoming calls.
Same here. Orchard bank. Late ONE payment... they're scratching for $15 USD... are you for real? ugh. I missed one, and you'll get it on the next statement date... get over it, lol.
Yes, you are all right, it is Household bank, Yes! even if you are not late with your payments and even if you don't have a CC with them. First, if you have a card with them and are not late, they want to set up a payment, to help them with the cash flow.( So many people have defaulted) If you are late, I am soooo sorry they will not stop, from early in the morning till late at night and yes on sunday, even very early morning. If you don't have a card, maybe your a neighbor of someone who is late and they are trying to contact them. All of these calls are coming from over seas, when you frist pick up it takes a few minutes for the satelite to connect you so at first it sounds like no one is there, but there is. please note, most of these calls are from this 800 number, but wait, if they never get a peson on line, they will re-route they calls from a local area code in your neighborhood and it will say "Gateway Call" . lets say you live in a 212 area code, the caller ID will say Gateway Call and the numher will be 212-xxx-xxxx so you may think its a friend or other business call but it will be them. Good luck people I hope this information helps you
calling a neighbor of a debtor has never been against the law as long as they don't give you exact information about what they are calling for, but they can relay a message with anyone with call back information hoping that you will get the message
It does help! And yes...they call constantly...even on Sunday. This past weekend from Friday night...yes after 9:00...until Sunday at right at 9:00...they called my phone 22 times. Every other time I anwered and once even waited almost 2 minutes and no one would say anything. They never leave a message. They only way I knew who it was was through this message board!
The calls are still going around. I just started getting calls from HSBC last week about 4 times a day. This is to my work number and I dont have an account with HSBC or ever been in one of their buildings. I call the number back with goes to India first off where they will transfer you to the US customer service department for removing you from there call list. I dont know if this works after talking to one the CSR here but they say they will remove my number from their call list today.
Go buy a digital cordless phone with a programmable ringer feature, then program the CID contact info i.e. '1-800-what-ever' into it with a 'no ring' ring. A decent 1x handset model with enough silicon in it to provide that feature shouldn't run you more than $45..... enjoy!
like sarah this number i am getting calls as late as 2 in the morning.this has made it impossible for my doctors to reache me along with andy other need business that i need to take care of
yes, these people are terrible- constant phone calls to the point I unplugged my phone... as long as they dont get the celll numbers in which case I would drive to their main office and punch some people in the face...
I have been getting the same pain in the neck phone calls all day long on my house phone and now my cell phone. I looked them up and I don't even have one of there credit cards. I joined the DO NOT CALL registry and they seem to be calling even more. I wish I could call them 100 times a day starting at 8am until whenever.
This number calls me several times a day, EVERY day. If I do not answer the phone, their autodialer hangs up on the answering machine, and if I do answer, their people hang up on me. Then the system calls me back in about 4-5 minutes, and we go through the whole process over again. It is getting REALLY old. I counted the calls one day and their were 28. TWENTY god damned EIGHT phone calls in one day!
They start at exactly 7:45am every day, and end somewhere around 9:30pm . I find it very annoying, particularly because after years and years of working night shift, I sleep in the early daylight hours and am up all night... so typically I'm about one hour into sleeping and the phone starts ringing.
Yes, it is HSBC. And I do actually have a credit card through them. The card is technically late in payments. I lost my job and have little to no income, so I've been sending what I can. It just doesn't add up to what they want. So on the occasions when they do NOT hang up on me, I go through the whole argument with them about the debt, and they try to tell me I need to sell everything I own (which is precisely nothing) and send them the money, or get a friend or relative to take out a loan to pay them, etc. etc. - very unreasonable.
So after talking to them, hang up, wait an hour or so, and they will call me back and go through the entire thing over again. One day I talked to their agents FIVE TIMES. All for the same damned account! I even got the same person twice! And when I told them I had already spoken to them they told me they hadn't called me since the week before and that I was obviously mistaken. o.O
Also, one delusional operator from this company had the nerve to tell me that the economy is presently stronger than it has ever been, and unemployment is at all time lows, and that if I am unemployed it is obviously by my own choosing. Crackhead!
After that I just stopped answering. Now I answer the phone for nobody. I let the machine pick up and if it's someone I want to talk to I will call them back. If God himself were to call me, he'd have to leave a message!
I am so sorry you have to go through the torture from this company.
I too am in the same situation where I lost my job and unable to pay what they are requesting. HSBC are like vultures preying on the already beaten down just waiting to eat your dead bones!!! It's ridiculous how many times they constantly call. Over and over and over and over again. They start at 8:02am and end at 8:57pm. It's pathetic. Constantly calling people who supposedly owe you money won't make it come in any sooner!!!
I have chosen to pickup the phone and just hang it right back up or don't answer it at all. They are thoroughly annoying. Arghhhh!!!!!!!!!
i was getting calls from these guys constantly for a week straight, after answering once yelled saying my payment is in the mail. She told me that i didnt have to mail it but could have Wired teh money to a certain mail box as it would of been much faster. she then verified my phone number and the next day the calls started at 6am, and continued every 20 minutes after that. i answered one last time with foul language and they laughed and hung up. i ignored the call for a week, till i gave up and changed my phone number. i refuse to give my phone number to any CC people, they wanna contact me they can do it by email
I have the misfortune of getting two of these cards to build back my credit after a divorce. The only thing to do is pay them off, close by consumer in formal writing, reqisterd mail return receipt, get on the do not call list and also on the "opt out" list so your information is no longer shared with marketing companies. This does NOT stop them from selling it to bill collectors, and any time you open a bank account or apply for credit you give your phone number, so the credit agencies get your information, and they also have your employer listed on the credit file.
oops... cut myself off. If you have verizon, you can block this and any others you wish under your phone security settings. I'm less than 30 days late on a payment of $40 but being its rough economic times, its affected even small payments. They are computers that constantly redialing and attempt to connect you to a service rep so she can tell you something you already know.
It is HSBC. I have never had an account with them, they are trying to contact the prior user of my phone number. I don't know who she is. I make up numbers and give them to them, explain that she is traveling due to winning a small fortune in Vegas, that she is in a Russian prison, that she is Bernie Madoff's cousin and in in DC to testify, ect. I am really enjoying this. I could be years before they figure out it is BS. They are soooo stupid...
