This is from a debt collections agency

Adam from West Asset Management, extension C16, left a message seeking a particular person.  I called back and explained to a woman named Brenda that I had been a victim of identity theft.  It turned out that this agency had bought the bad debt from another agency.  How much documentation DOES one need to convince these slime bags that fraud is fraud is fraud????

West Assest calls me allday everyday, even on Saunday mornings.  Every time i try to work with someone about my student loan and payments, they get right to the end of the conversation and demand i do what they tell me to do.  when i get upset and tell them they are harrasing me then they go even further and threaten me with wage granishments.  they are never willing to work with the debtor only harrase them and i am going to get a lawyer.

If this company calls you, immediately tell them to cease communication.  They are legally bound to stop all collection activities if you tell them to.  Make sure you also send a letter stating the same thing via certified mail.  

These guys buy junk debts and will abuse you verbally.

Thank you all for the info.  I keep getting these calls 3 times
a day for days.  Finally they leave a computer message saying if you are LISTENING TO the message you Agree to be A T Barnes Electric!  I am
a private residence and I assure you no one here has a clue who A T Barenes Electric is. They did say in the message that they are a collection agency.  I was going to call them back and say they have the wrong number, but won't now.
