I used Malware Bytes to get rid of these guys.

This company called my house to report that we had a serious problem with our computer, one that could cause it to crash. My son took the first call, was led to the problem log in the computer, where we indeed did have a series of red and yellow warnings. Since we had installed Comcast Internet service that same day, I assumed it was Comcast calling. It took several days for me to finally get in touch with this caller (he called repeatedly while I was out and finally left a call-back number). Very heavy Indian accent, very bad phone connection. He once again explained that we had a serious problem. After talking with him (hard to get away from him), I googled the number and found numerous blogs, etc. that talk about this company.

During this time, the laptop in question had a little notice popping up continually, something like "Windows has noticed spyware. Cleick here to fix." But when I clicked on it, nothing happened, except that it reappeared again after a few minutes. High nuissance factor.

I did a complete scan with AVG, which did not stop the little pop-ups in the lower right corner, which claimed to be a Windows warning about spyware, but which did not lead me to a Windows diagnostic when clicked on. I then ran Malware Bytes. It took care of everything.

I got a call 9/3/9 from someone with Indian accent claiming to be a rep of Microsoft and that there is a virus that they need to take care of.  I asked how he got my unlisted number, he said it's from Microsoft.  Couldn't understand the rest but I didn't do let him do anything except give me this 800 number and website of www.supportonclick.com.  I was suspicious because his number came up on my caller id as "Private."  Now, Microsoft wouldn't do that!  I haven't had any problem with Microsoft priior to this call.

    concerned daughter
My parents aren't too compute savvy. My mom texted me that someone called telling them they have a virus and to go to their computer. I called and told her to give me the number..a Mark Robinson gave her three different numbers to call back because my mom told them they would need to call back not feeling right going forward with the phone call:
    800-698-9034
    347-289-3770
    and
    646-884-9561

Found all three to be related to a scam. It's late tonight, but I will be reporting all three numbers. Just need to figure out where to report to here on the internet.

    son of scammed
My 86 year old mother got a call from these crooks today. She was on the phone for one hour. Couldn't understand the accents and said the connection was horrible, so had them repeated requests slowly enough to write them down.

Told her she would have to sign up for $100 / year service next year but never asked for credit card info. She said they had her typing in name, email address, not much more.

She was she wouldn't pay and they said they had children to feed and everyone needs to make a living.

I received a call on Saturday, November 21, 2009, from a man in India with a very thick indian accent.  It was a really bad connection and after I commented about it, he advised that he was calling from Microsoft support in India.  He was insistent that I go to my computer immediately to address certain "red cross" errors and "yellow triangle" warnings that Microsoft users were receiving (allegedly the reason for the call). He said it was urgent that the issues be addressed immediately.  I advised that my computer was unavailable and after asking many questions about why my Windows One Care which is updated daily was not addressing the issues, he once again advised that that was why he was calling.  I again told him my computer was not accessible at that time and took down his number.  It was really hard to get away from him.  I unfortunately do not have caller ID so cannot report how the number comes up.  I think he has tried to call several times.  Again earlier today.  My daughter answered and because she couldn't hear him or understand him, hung up.

taught my parents not to open for anyone
The calls started coming to my parents house on Nov. 10th then again Dec. 12, 18, 19th.  During the first 2 calls I had my parents computer, so she told the man that her daughter had it.  He continued calling she finally asked him for a phone number.  He said his name was Joseph and gave the number of 800-698-9034, he stated he was with Windows Technical Support and needed my mom to turn on her computer so he could clean up her hard drive.  Thank goodness for all my preaching not to respond to anyone calling on her computer system.  You don't know what type of information they were looking for.

    didn't fall for scam
Got call from someone stating that my computer had an infection and that it needed help.  When I asked how or why he  (the person with an Indian accent) was calling me, he said it was to fix my computer.  All I had to do was get on my computer and tell him what type of windows operating system I had.  I knew it was a scam since 1) it was Christmas eve, 2) I never called about a problem, 3) I have a iMAC computer.  I asked for his phone # and name.  Given this number and told company was Support-on-click.  I told him I would pass the info on to law enforcement.  He wished me a Merry Christmas and quickly hung up.  A TOTAL SCAM!!!!!!

Same call to me today.  Strong Indian accent.  Sounded like someone else was on the line as well.  Asked what information of mine they had and they stated name, address and phone number was all.  Wanted to transfer me to someone who would help me download software to my computer.  I said I think this is a scam and hung up.  Found this forum after I hung up.

What a schlameel!!!I just got a call from some jack rabbit with "the tech support department". He said he is with a company that works with Microsoft and my computer shows it has a "very serious virus problem". I stopped him mid-speech and said, "before we go any further, I have some questions for you."
1)What's your name?  "Robert Williams" (yeah right!  He had a VERY heavy East Indian accent and I kept having to ask him to repeat himself!)
2)What company are your with? "Tech support" (he finally said he is with something called Support On Click and the web site supportonclick.com)
3)What is your phone number? "800-698-9034"  (call that number back and you get a message that says "no one is available to take your call at the moment." and it disconnects.)
4)what are you trying to sell me? "nothing. we are trying to help you with a very serious problem that we have detected with your computer. It can cause your computer to crash if you don't let me fix it for you. Please log onto your computer and I will fix it for you" (RIGHT! Like I am going to give someone who calls me on the phone access to my computer AND all my personal information!!!NOT!!!!)
    5) What viruses do you show that my computer has? "Malware, Spyware and cookies"  (OK, am I stupid here? I was not aware that these were viruses! I've always heard that they were for mainly used for tracking where I have been surfing! It is very easy for me to get rid of these myself.)
I'll give him credit though, I ripped into him pretty good and he kept coming back for more. I basically told him he was jacka-- who was trying to scam me and there was no way I was going to give some low life access to my computer.  He kept coming back at me, but when I told him I wanted to talk to his supervisor, he used their standard "hold the line please" and then put me on the hold that disconnects after a couple minutes.  I did play with him long enough to get information  that I am going to turn over to the FCC, and the attorney generals office. Maybe they can do something about this company!

Very similar experience as above. While they were having me look at my event log and telling me my computer was running slow and was on the verge of a crash, I googled them. I told them they were scammers  and we argued for the next 15 minutes. It really was a lot of fun. They will argue with you, try to convince you they are not selling anything and put a lot of effort in tiring to convince you they are for real. BTW you can get their platinum package of support normally $525.00 for just $289.00!!!!LOL,...LOL!

Lots of fun if your a computer geek who likes to argue but every one else beware.
