Progress Energy auto-dial, calling to confirm service request.

Called me three times (11:06:39, 11:12:17, 11:20:00) but did not leave a message.

Actually, I'm not reading the numbers correctly: Instead of 11:20:00, it's 11:28:00. I'm using X-Lite Beta 4.0 (softphone) and get the caller ID from my.callcentric.com.

2 calls so far today. When I answer, nobody responds. Call is then terminated. I have reason to believe that someone else is using this call service for annoyance purposes.

progress energy. automated recording calling to apologize for recent service interruption in the area.  odd thing is i have had no service interruptions lately and my phone number isn't the number on the account.

I think this is a Progress Electric automated call saying that service installation was completed. I did a Web request for service and after the service was connected I got a recorded message from this number saying the request to turn service on was completed.

Just a call from Progress Energy, telling us our bill was ready to be viewed on line.

They left a message, Duke Energy Customer Service Center.  Work will be going on in my area and they are calling to let me know there will be Duke Energy vehicles and short periods of power outages in the next few weeks.

Didn't answer. Left me a 2-minute voicemail that was all static and electric hum.

I got the same thing.

Received a missed call from this number this morning, didn't leave message.  Thanks people for letting me know it can be from Duke Energy as they have changed the meter reading date, and supposedly it should be done today.....and  THANK!!  to this site for their valuable service!!!!

My caller ID did not show who was calling, just this phone number, but I found out when I Googled the number that it was Duke Energy.  They are not my power company, so I don't know why they would be calling me

It's Rachel calling again to offer me up to a $7500 rebate if I qualify. Sounds so phoney - beware ! I do not believe this is the real power company calling as they really NEVER identify themselves properly they just say Rachel calling??

Meesage they left was nearly inintelligible, letting me know that the billing cycle and bill due date would be changing and "might result in a higher than normal bill" during the adjustment phase. Great time to do this to your customers, at the peak of summer! Gee, thanks Duke Energy!

This is the phone number for Duke Energy. This was an automated courtesy call advising the homeowner that the date of meter reading and billing cycle will be changing on the next bill. This is accurate information as the same information was provided on our most recent Duke Energy Bill that was sent in the mail. A word of caution, though. When I googled this number, I came across a Fraud Alert that is posted on the Duke Energy website. Apparently there are people misrepresenting themselves as employees of Duke Energy or contractors for Duke Energy. They are scamming customers through various means: claiming that service will be cut off immediately if an account is past due or offering to "help" pay balances. Duke Energy advises calling them to verify these types of calls and/or to report to the police. What a world.
